Wow to that from comment from Jan Brennan. I think we always KNEW IT... knew it deep down. But to see someone so detached from societal norms is rather shocking.

The Sloots always presented themselves as "our betters". They were the creme de la creme of the upper intelligencia. Paulus was a judge in training / attorney / contract expert. Anita, the do-gooding teacher with nothing but a deep desire to raise children to an elevated state of consciousness.

This was so far from the truth it would make most heave when the actual facts became clear. These Sloots are not anyone's betters, not the upper intelligentsia, and all have broken moral compasses. There is nothing redeeming here at all. And it's funny how some worship the gravel they walk on. Some have very very low standards.

Walking around with your nose in the air does not make you a genius, only a pompous ass. Having an elite clique like the IFA doesn't mean you are some sort of gift to mankind. In fact, these Sloots are extremely low on the humanity scale. It only goes a few floors lower to the Mengele / Hitler level where water reaches their level.

Defending these criminals reveals more about those doing the defending than the criminals themselves - after-all, everyone knows that the Sloots are morally bankrupt, but we do get to know you alot better from comments such as Jan Brennan's.

Birmingham, Al (WIAT)  Joran van der Sloot is running out of legal challenges as he fights a murder charge in Peru, an extortion charge here in Alabama and faces years in a deadly Peruvian prison.

Van der Sloot is in custody in Peru charged with the murder of Peruvian student Stephany Flores who he met at a poker tournament and who turned up dead in van der Sloot's hotel room.  Peruvian police have a ton of physical evidence plus a confession from van der Sloot.  His attempts to throw out that confession claiming it was coerced have been rejected by a Peruvian judge.

In a grisly turn of timing, Flores was murdered five years to the day after the disappearance of Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway on a graduation trip to Aruba.  Van der Sloot is the prime suspect in that case as well.  Although questioned several times by Aruban police, he has never been charged.

He also faces federal charges of extortion here in Alabama.  The FBI and U.S. attorney claim van der Sloot offered to inform the grieving Holloway family of Natalee's whereabouts....took money... and took off without providing any information.

Will Natalee's Father Find Her?

Armed with a map drawn by alleged killer Joran van der Sloot, Dave Holloway is searching for his daughter's remains in Aruba. Barbie Latza Nadeau reports on the authorities in his way.

The Bubali Bird Sanctuary is a tranquil oasis on the northwestern edge of the tiny Caribbean island of Aruba. Throughout the year thousands of migratory birds nest in the overgrown swamplands that are fed with purified water from the island’s sewage treatment plant nearby. The large area is freely accessible by public roads that wind around the two manmade lakes. Local teens often use the secluded inlets to throw parties or make love in their cars.

Natalee Holloway’s father Dave believes that his daughter’s remains are somewhere in these thick wetlands. Joran van der Sloot, the primary suspect in Holloway’s disappearance, now in jail in Lima, Peru after confessing to the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores, drew a map last February, showing exactly where he and the Kalpoe brothers left her body in the early morning hours of May 30, 2005. Van der Sloot drew the map for Jaap Amersz, Holland’s most famous reality television star, who spent months cultivating a close friendship with Van der Sloot, who loved the idea of befriending someone so famous and readily fell for the trap. Amersz then sold the story and the map to the Dutch tabloid Der Telegraaf which refused to run the piece and instead turned the damning information over to Aruban authorities, who chose to ignore it as “fantasy."

Now Holloway’s father has the map. He is in Aruba with Tim Miller, the head of Equusearch, a private firm based in Texas that specializes in finding missing persons—dead or alive. But the Aruban authorities are prohibiting Holloway from conducting his own private search. Aruban prosecutor Peter Blanken said that the police are worried that Holloway will “jeopardize” their ongoing investigation or that evidence might be “contaminated” if it is not collected by the authorities.

Miller is the defacto spokesman for Holloway and he told reporters that the death of Stephany Flores could have been prevented had the Arubans followed several leads after Holloway’s disappearance. But he also worries that the Arubans are trying to keep what happened to Natalee a secret. Whether out of fear that it will taint the island’s reputation as a safe tourist haven, or whether they are covering up for corruption within their ranks, the Aruban authorities have clearly done very little to help the Holloway family find their daughter. “[Dave Holloway] feels that if the Arubans had done their job, Joran would be in jail and Stephany would be alive.”

Prior to his arrest in Santiago, Chile earlier this month, Van der Sloot had confessed multiple times to his involvement in Holloway’s presumed death. But in Aruba, where his father was a prominent member of the local judiciary, the cops acted as if they were under pressure not to follow up on the most obvious leads, including the disappearance of a large crab cage that had gone missing from the local fishing grounds around the time of Holloway’s disappearance. Van der Sloot’s friends Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were the last three people to be seen with Holloway alive when she got into their car outside the Carlos ’n Charlie’s Casino on May 30, 2005. In the days after her disappearance, they gave ample clues to the cops and to Holloway’s parents and friends, who had descended on the island like a SWAT team upon hearing of Natalee’s disappearance. In a now-famous encounter, Natalee’s parents and friends stood outside the van der Sloot home shouting “Where’s Natalee?”

With the cops largely uncooperative, Beth Holloway and her supporters confronted Joran and Paulus van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers on numerous occasions, according to Holloway’s heart wrenching book Loving Natalee. In it, she describes a vivid scene where she is sitting in a rental car while Joran describes making out with Natalee, giving vivid details of her “underwear with the dark blue embroidery and the flowers.” Holloway wonders why, if he was with her intimately the night she disappeared, he was ever allowed to go free. She describes a scene in which she holds up a picture of Natalee to Joran. “I want my daughter back,” she yells at Joran. “Give her back.”

She then describes how, even though Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers admit to being the last to see her, she cannot secure a search warrant for either the boys’ houses or the car Natalee was seen getting into. “It’s apparent right off the bat that privilege and political standing will present a much greater obstacle than the language barrier ever would,” writes Beth Holloway. “What happened surrounding Natalee’s disappearance is bizarre enough without having to be contrived or embellished.”

These are the scenes that haunt Natalee’s parents, who feel that now that Joran is in custody, they may finally get their answers—if they are allowed to proceed.

This sense of entitlement that so many on Aruba have exhibited is also due to the tiny microcosm they all choose to live within. If you succeed in shutting out the world at large, and falsely and egotistically believe the world revolves around you, a sense of entitlement is the least of it.

To truly live in today's world intelligently and globally, wouldn't allow that mindset to continue to thrive as it does on Aruba.

The entire island is built upon a parasitic economy of tourism..........people are just commodities to them, no humanity is involved.

Meet the Zeolla's..Rick is the GM of the Marriott in Aruba and his Wife is the president of the IFA and both are very close to the Van Der Sloots. Mashelle helped guide the first searches for Natalee in the city while leatherneck Renfro guided the searches outside of the city. Both took pictures with Anita at the IFA cocktail party celebrating Jorans release from prison before it happened. The IFA'S members include the Van Der Sloots,Purcells,Pesqueras,Charles Croes,Julia Renfro,Angela Muzzlebutt and I suspect others that you do not know by name,but see their lies posted about Natalee on the internet.

They offer a important alibi for PVDS picking up sebastian at 6:30 PM at the Zeolla household the night of May 29th 2005. The reason it is important is because PVDS is lying about it. It appears from the casino video that PVDS never left the casino and was drinking,gambling and talking to Natalee Holloway two hours later and just a few hours before she dissapeared forever.

She describes a scene in which she holds up a picture of Natalee to Joran. “I want my daughter back,” she yells at Joran. “Give her back.”

She then describes how, even though Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers admit to being the last to see her, she cannot secure a search warrant for either the boys’ houses or the car Natalee was seen getting into. “It’s apparent right off the bat that privilege and political standing will present a much greater obstacle than the language barrier ever would,” writes Beth Holloway. “What happened surrounding Natalee’s disappearance is bizarre enough without having to be contrived or embellished.”

These are the scenes that haunt Natalee’s parents, who feel that now that Joran is in custody, they may finally get their answers—if they are allowed to proceed.

And right then the bracelet looks different to me.  I see the three cords as the suspects, and the knot as the end holding them together as Paulus.  It’s not just clear – it’s crystal clear.   There are potentially four people who know what happened to Natalee.  We need the knot to come loose and the three to unravel.

Just want to let the Others who have knowledge of what happened to Natalee on ARUBA know we have not forgotten about them.
We still want the correct answer to where Natalee is located ..Paulus dead or Not.
ARUBA is not OFF the hook because Joran murdered Stephanie..
We want to bring Natalee home to America.

Then later it involves LE such as Van stratten and his buddies and after that it involves Judges like Smid..

Pull one string and ARUBA comes apart at the seams.

Keep Joran isolated from ANYBODY associated to the rock called ARUBA. Joran will sing one day soon...

I have to wonder if Anita is going to start trashing Joran's latest victim, Stephany, the way she did Natalee.  Anita said several times that "that girl" should never have gone in the car that way.  The implication was that anything that happened after that must be her own fault.

If she is still in that mode, she will say Stephany should never have gone in that hotel room.  Maybe then the Flores will understand how Anita thinks and what she has taught that monster.

Expert: Van der Sloot's Legal Strategies Are Baffling

(June 28) -- Accused murderer Joran van der Sloot's legal strategy is doomed to failure and an appeal of his reported confession won't succeed, an international defense expert says.

A judge in Lima, Peru, on Friday upheld van der Sloot's alleged confession in the murder of a Peruvian business student, and his attorney announced his plans to appeal.

"The appeal will go before a three-judge panel, but it's not going to go anywhere," says Michael Griffith, senior partner at the International Legal Defense Counsel. "They're not going to let him go on a technicality at this point. They've got too much evidence against him -- the video of him coming in and out of the room, his statements, her blood on his shirt and his consciousness of guilt in fleeing."

Van der Sloot, a longtime suspect in the disappearance of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, is accused of the May 30 slaying of 21-year-old Stephany Flores, who was found dead in van der Sloot's hotel room in Lima on June 2. Van der Sloot has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the case.


Griffith has counseled and represented clients in more than 40 countries on a variety of charges. His most renowned case, involving an American incarcerated in a Turkish prison, was the basis for the film and book "Midnight Express."

If convicted of Flores' murder, van der Sloot faces 15 to 35 years in prison. In light of that possibility, Griffith said he finds van der Sloot's current strategy baffling.

"This guy is doing nothing right," Griffith says. "He should be cooperating, so he has a chance to get a better deal. He has no chance of being found not guilty. He's a complete moron."

In the days following van der Sloot's arrest, officials in Peru announced he had made a full confession to Flores' murder. Van der Sloot allegedly said he broke Flores' neck in a fit of rage after she allegedly used his laptop to find out about his involvement in the Holloway case.

"I did not want to do it," van der Sloot allegedly said about the attack. "The girl intruded into my private life. She had no right. I went to her, and I hit her. She was scared. We argued, and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck, and I hit her."

The Dutchman has since retracted that confession, claiming he was arrested without a warrant and was not provided with an official translator, which he says caused confusion during questioning.

"All this with the intention of pressuring me to accuse [myself] of homicide," the Dutch native said in the complaint, obtained by the Peruvian news program "24 Hours."

Superior Court Judge Wilder Casique Alvizuri spent nearly a week examining the evidence in the case before ruling that van der Sloot's claim that his habeas corpus rights had been violated were "unfounded." Alvizuri said he determined van der Sloot not only had a state-appointed attorney present during his depositions but also a Dutch-Spanish translator.

The chief judge of Lima's Superior Court, Cesar Vega, recently told reporters that Peruvian laws allow up to six months for a murder trial, but Griffith says he doubts the case will go to trial that quickly.

"If he pleads guilty, yes, but if he wants an adversarial trial, it will take at least two or three years," Griffith said.
