Well Greta just did a quick blurb on the indictment of Joran, relating it was due to his effort to extort 250K from Beth. Then she went on to say with emphasis "why the FBI took so long we don't know" with real emphasis in the tone of her voice.......

Obviously that whipping post isn't going away anytime soon.

You know Greta and Dr. Baden and Steph Watts are in big trouble over the autopsy of Drew Peterson's
wife that died in the bathtub.

How so Magnolia? I must have missed that one.......is that why Watts no longer works there?

I believe that Drew Peterson is on trial in Illinois for the murder of his third wife. The judges are appalled that Fox did an autopsy and filmed it.

I think Watts was let go for some other reason.  This is just coming out in the pre-trial talks
of the Drew Peterson case.  Check the Huffington Post.  I read it on AOL news several days ago.
Seems Steph Watts wrote phone numbers of the guy who films Girls Gone Wild on the autopsy
notes and they filmed the autopsy and showed part of it on Greta's show.

Just out of curiosity,has anyone ever wondered why the FBI hasn't ever tried a sting on the Kalpoe's? It just seems to me that somehow a deal or somthing could be made in order to get them to sing like birds and spill everything they know.Just thoughts..

The FBI didn't initiate the extortion. It was Joran who contacted Beth thru someone. Else it would been entrapment.
I doubt if the Kalpoes know where Natalee is. Paulus was so kind as to provide free legal advice and get them a lawyer. The Kalpoes had Joran's back and you can bet some money changed  hands there. Paulus probably told them it would blow over and his famous words nbnc. He tied them to this forever. Maybe something will come out if they ever give evidence in their case against Dr. Phil. Gee, I wonder where Joran learned to screw people over ?

I disagree.  I think Mr. Flores "gets it".  His daughter is dead.
Peru has said that Joran will serve his sentence in Peru and nowhere else.

Agree...Peru has stated Joran will serve his sentence in Peru. No extradition treaty with Aruba.
If he survives Peru...his next stop will be the US, who does have extradition treaty with Peru.
Aruba can spew bs all they want...they don't understand Peru's judicial system obviously and authorities really don't give a rats @ss what Aruba wants or thinks.

The indictment asks that Beth be paid the 25 grand back before he can be paid for anything else.

You are doing a great job....I think the thread got unstickied when Joran was arrested in Peru.  No biggie....just wanted you to know that some stuff was being compiled.  You have found more and it's quite enlightening!

I am impressed and thrilled Peru in 5 weeks time have the Joran the killer locked up in prison, something Aruba wouldn't/didn't do in 5 YEARS!

Thanks Magnolia, I found it on Huff & yes it does appear there is a big flag running up this pole - FOX paid for Baden to do the autopsy. Watts is definitely a liability but now I have to wonder how many stories are paid for?

(CBS)  Surveillance cameras are everywhere these days. Do they solve crime or invade your privacy?

"Early Show" Consumer Correspondent Susan Koeppen took a look into their ever-spreading use.



Koeppen said, "If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video might as well be priceless. Law enforcement around the world increasingly rely on a growing network of surveillance cameras to help solve crime. But do more cameras mean more protection or a greater risk of our privacy being invaded?"

Whether in the mall, hotels, or public parks and streets, Koeppen said there's a good chance that wherever you go, a surveillance camera is close by.

Surveillance cameras have played an important role in the investigation into Stephany Flores' death. While mystery still shrouds Joran van der Sloot's involvement in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, there appears little doubt he was the last person to see Stephany Flores alive based on the surveillance evidence collected.

I heard Jinkosaurus say one night that surveillance cameras are on EVERY corner in Lima. That certainly seems to be how the Flores family learned that Stephany had gone to the Atlantic City casino.

Which reminds me, I still want to know where Stephany parked her car at the hotel. (Because Joran said that the hotel clerk told him the next morning to move the car.)

Agree....Peru and Holland DO NOT have an extridition treaty.  A treaty has been on the table for
two years and Peru has not signed it.  Peru and Aruba have no extradition treaty either.

Well, thank you! Natalee is my rocket fuel. I fully intend to keep pounding the dookie out of Aruba - until she is back home in Alabama where she belongs. What they have done cannot be allowed to stand. It breaks my heart.

Today is a month after Stephany's dead. I believe that today was very hard for Mr Flores to go to the PLE to give his statement.....In Peru is common to remember a deceased person  a month and a year after somebody's dead with a ceremony at church.

The 30-day memorial is a common practice in the Catholic Church here. I learned of it when I lived in New England (Connecticut) though I never observed it in the Midwest. They call it "Month's Mind" and have a Mass said for the deceased person.

I also am familiar with this. It's very good, I think, just the closest family and friends, and not so much else to worry about/deal with. Especially in a situation like this (sudden unexpected death, young person) where pure shock is a factor.

In any event, those first days usually are a blur. Calm grief is strangely consoling.
