Don't know why it works, but it seems to. When I keep getting thrown out, I come in through the "front" door and have no more problems.

Van der Sloot Exclusive: Last Text Messages of Stephany Flores

NEW YORK (CBS) Police documents obtained exclusively by 48 Hours | Mystery show the last text messages sent and received by Joran van der Sloot's alleged Peruvian victim Stephany Flores.

PICTURES: Van der Sloot Hotel Room Crime Scene

The messages sent by Flores do not show her as concerned for her safety, and don't suggest that Flores had any idea of the tragedy about to befall her.

According to the documents, it was 3:06 a.m. May 30 when the young 21-year-old student unknowingly sent what would be her final text message to a friend stating she was "going up," and would call her friend "right away."

Hotel security surveillance video shows Flores and van der Sloot entering his room together around 5 a.m. that same day, and then shows van der Sloot leaving alone four hours later with his bags.

Unaware of Flores' fate, the friend sent four text messages checking in with Flores. On the night of May 30 at 10:39 p.m., the worried friend sent Flores a text concerned of her whereabouts, "Please respond...Where are you?"

No response was sent.

Transcriptions of the last voicemails received by Flores are also in the documents. After that text message, the same friend left two voicemails begging her Stephany to return her phone call. "It's really urgent that you call me they are looking for you everywhere," reads the first message. The phone records show eight missed calls on the slain student's phone the day after she was murdered, including one call from her mother and one from her father.

Loved ones tried to reach the missing student on June 1 to no avail. The final words to Flores in the document are a heartfelt text message from her friend: "Rest in peace. You are the best in my life. Thank you for everything."

Stephany Flores' death occurred exactly five years after Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway disappeared in Aruba. Van der Sloot confessed to fatally beating, strangling and suffocating Flores in a Peruvian hotel room, according to transcripts of his signed confession, which he has since recanted.

Explicit crime scene photos were previously obtained exclusively by 48 Hours | Mystery from sources close to the investigation and published exclusively by Crimesider. They show a severely beaten Flores, her body badly bruised, her clothes stained with blood.

Van Der Sloot's Peruvian Prison (PHOTOS)

It seems being behind bars hasn't stopped alleged murderer Joran van der Sloot from trying to strike it rich.

One day after an Alabama grand jury indicted Van der Sloot on charges of wire fraud and extortion, sources say the 22-year-old Dutch native is attempting to sell his first on-camera interview for a staggering $1 million. Officials at Peru's Miguel Castro Castro prison, where Van der Sloot is currently being held for the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, say there have been no takers thus far.

News of the on the heels of van der Sloot's official indictment in another money-making scheme, in which he is alleged to have attempted to sell details of Natalee Holloway's death to her grieving mother, Beth Twitty. Authorities said Van der Sloot, who remains the prime suspect in Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba, would identify the whereabouts of the Alabama teen's remains for $250,000.

Whether or not a TV deal materializes, the alleged murderer awaits his trial at Peru's Castro Castro prison. See it here:

Just another sloot family friend and International Friends of Aruba member.

I am basically building a database of them.

Whomever touches a sloot is on my radar.

If the say hey swa! - I am going to know about it.

If one of them farts. I will be there asking questions.

On a scale of 1 -5, I will be rating it. Identifying it, classifying it, numbering it and adding it into my system.

How do you find out what makes animals like the sloots tick?

You trace everything that moves that comes into contact with them.

Everything and everybody. No exceptions.

Nothing escapes the Van der sloot "KISS OF DEATH"

Oh good lordy, I do believe I have spotted the swine flu!

Van der Sloot charged with fraud and extortion in the U.S.
The Netherlands citizen, Joran Van der Sloot, the alleged murderer of the young Peruvian Stephany Flores, was charged with fraud and extortion by the federal jury in Alabama, United States, after early June he opened a judicial process in this regard, according to CNN.

As recalled, the Dutchman asked $ 250,000 to the mother of Natalee Holloway in return for giving information on the whereabouts of her daughter, until now unknown.

To support the accusation, the prosecutor Joyce White took the testimony of Beth Twitty, mother of the missing girl in Aruba, in 2005.

Van der Sloot, currently held at the Miguel Castro Castro prison, was questioned over the death of Holloway, but never charged. Even wrote a book about the case.

"If there is a possibility that the process is fast and fluid, I wish to be extradited to Aruba. I have the desire to talk about the case, but not at this moment (...) is a case that has years and would prefer to speak with the police in Aruba, the Netherlands would have pointed out from jail.

Sort of stretch in terms of On Topic, but it's an interesting story. There are several photos at the link below.

'Sea monster' fossil found in Peru desert

(CNN) -- Researchers scanning the Peruvian desert for whale fossils have stumbled upon the remains of a "sea monster" three times the size of a modern day killer whale.

The teeth of "Leviathan Melvillei" were so large it was initially assumed they were elephant tusks.

"There were no elephants in South America before 3 million years ago, and the specimens found have an age of 12 to 15 million years, so that was impossible," said Professor Jelle Reumer, one of the team of scientists who found the fossil in the Pisco-Ica desert in coastal Peru.

They had been searching for other types of whale fossils in a remote area some 300 kilometers south of Lima. "The place where we found it was 20 kilometers from the nearest village," said Reumer, who is also director of Natural History Museum in Rotterdam.

Strong winds had shifted sand to expose a three-meter long fossilized skull. The skull of today's blue whale, still the largest animal ever known to have existed, is around six meters long.

The fossilized remains found in Peru include a jaw bone and several teeth, each around 12 centimeters in diameter and up to 36 centimeters in length.

The size of its teeth indicate that the mammal fed on large prey, possibly baleen whales which were plentiful at the time of the Leviathan's existence around 12 million to 13 million years ago, in the middle of the Miocene Age, Reumer said.

It is not known why they became extinct. Reumer said it could have been due to "climatic deterioration."

"After the Miocene it became relatively much colder. At the same time the baleen whales became bigger probably to escape from predation from these animals, just the way elephants escaped predation by becoming bigger so they were not eaten by lions any more," he said. Baleen whales now grow to 30 meters in length. Back then, they were much smaller, around six to ten meters long.

Reumer says the Leviathan could be best compared to a modern killer whale. Killer whales feast on sea lions, seals, fish, birds and sometimes other whales.

Modern sperm whales have a completely different method of feeding; they suck in squid at depths of a kilometer or more and only have relatively small teeth on their lower jaw.

The whale was named after the original Hebrew word for a mythical sea monster -- Livyatan -- and Herman Melville, the author of the novel Moby Dick.

The remains of the Leviathan Melvillei will remain in Peru at the Museo de Historia Natural in Lima. Casts of the three largest teeth are on display at the the Natural History Museum Rotterdam.

Reumer says there is very little chance another will be found. "It's a top predator so there were very few specimens living at any period of time. The chance that they are fossilized is very small and the chance that you find them is even smaller," he said.

The find is detailed in a paper published July 1 in the scientific journal Nature.

Gimme $1M for TV talk
van der Sloot payday

Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch lothario who is accused of murdering one young girl in Peru and is the main suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, is asking $1 million to do a TV interview from jail, according to reports yesterday.

Van der Sloot is apparently trying to raise money to pay his lawyers for his upcoming murder trial in Peru, where he has been held without bail for the May 30 killing of Stephany Flores, a girl he met in a local casino.

The 22-year-old van der Sloot is said to be looking for a $1 million fee from the same Dutch TV production company, Global Star, that paid his mother a six-figure fee for a TV interview that was shown here on ABC last week.

"It's a horrid thing to admit, but he could be right," one TV exec told the Web site popeater.com, which broke the story yesterday.

"An interview with him from behind bars would certainly get huge ratings," he said. "And when you think how much money the cast of 'Friends' got per half-hour episode, $1 million for van der Sloot could be considered a bargain."

News officials at the major networks said yesterday that they had not heard that van der Sloot was looking for a big payday before agreeing to an interview. That would suggest that no deal has yet been made between van der Sloot and the Dutch TV company.

For the interview with his mother, Anita, Global Star staged a high-stakes auction among the US networks that ABC News won with a bid described by insiders as over $100,000.

ABC aired portions of the interview -- during which she said her son is "not a monster" but "has [a] bipolar personality" -- on "Good Morning America" and "Nightline."

Paying for interviews is a hot potato on TV right now, with all the networks claiming they don't pay for news. But through various other means -- like paying outside production companies for footage or paying for the right to family photos -- TV news has been able to skirt its own rules.

The clips were clearly labeled as being bought from an outside source and the money, according to the production company, went to van der Sloot's lawyers for his defense.

Good Morning, Monkeys,

Well, isn't it amusing that Joran is afraid somebody is going to put something in his food?  Sort of like he "did 20 times and nothing bad happened"?

Guess he also fears being raped because those are things he himself did.  I do believe Joran was a serial rapist.

He fears all the things he did to his own victims.
