CBS48 Hours Mystery has some insight into how van der Sloot evaded police as he fled Peru.

Peru police told 48 Hours | Mystery that they believe Joranvan der Sloot, the man accused of killing Peruvian student Stephany Flores, disposed of the SIM card in his cell phone before he was apprehended.

After van der Sloot was caught in Chile, cops confiscated his cell phone. Police later found that the SIM card had been removed.

That says a lot ...
 LE had better find his service provider and find out who he called and see if any of it was digital recorded and stored on the server..

Which still leads me back to the question as to whether the Peruvian Police investigated the hotel he said he left his credit cards in when he was questioned.

I am positive that SIM card had photo and calls that would have sunk him forever..

The truth of the matter is Stephanie may have been looking through his cell phone images and phone numbers and THAT lit him because some of the contacts may kill him and some of the photos may have been very incriminating..
 I think she was in the phone and not into his computer..
THAT would make the SIM card one of the most wanted items in this investigation..
I can just see some PATH personality with saved images of victims..fruitloop that he is.

Still catching up, but have (have!) to say this:

Stephany didn't do anything to set him off!!  It infuriates to hear that.  He lured her to his hotel room already knowing she wasn't going to leave alive.

She did not do anything to CAUSE him to murder her.  That's BS.

I think he gets sadistic pleasure from murdering women.  If you recall, he went home (after murdering Natalee) and got on the computer and watched pornography.  What kind of sick SOB is that.

Ah, but when did he call her and how many times.  And was she the female who called the hotel looking for Joran to warn him about the Interpol warrant or what role did she really play?  Yes, I think she is at the least implicated.

Agree.  Joran was planning to murder and rob Stephnay before they ever entered that hotel room.  There was nothing she did that caused it at all.  He was flat broke and wanted her money and any she had in her car.

Robbery was his primary motive with rape as a secondary one.

Thanks, ya'll.  The implication that he was so fascinating to her that she needed to poke around in his cell phone or on his computer is, IMHO, typical chauvinistic bs. 

She didn't give a crap about him, a concept still difficult for some men to grasp about any woman.

I apologize if I mistook the post, but this searching for a reason - something SHE must've done - to explain away why he murdered her is just beyond the pale and I for one can't tolerate it.

I'll leave the last word to Edward and move on from the subject.  Thanks for letting me have my say on it.

Yes, there has to be some maintenance done tonight on an upgrade that was recently done. Sorry for the down time folks.
