If "third world" judicial systems are corrupt and offer no justice, then Aruba and The Netherlands must be third world countries.  They failed to adhere to even the most basic rules of investigation and did not even search the Sloot compound for two years.  Meanwhile, the Sloots poured concrete, replaced furniture and God knows what else.

No forensics whatsoever.  So I guess being a "third world" country can be more of a state of mind than economics.  The circumstances under which Natalee disappeared would have called for an investigation of Joran anywhere else in the world.  It's LE 101.

The World Court is located in the Hague only.  It is run by the United Nations entirely and has nothing to do with the Dutch judicial system whatsoever.  Thank Goodness!

But the whole world saw this example of corruption and know it for what it was and is.  Didn't fool anybody except maybe Joran who is not too bright.

Martini  - after 5 years and alot of BS, I'm not going to allow you or anyone else to turn this into a Joran was set up thread.  Joran is a murdering monster that has been protected for 5 years.  Hopefully he'll get MORE than he deserves in Peru prison.

Hi, Klaas, not sure if anyone here watched the special last night on the prison Joran is reportedly going to on transfer, but it is really a "Midnight Express" type prison.  Prostitutes who are paid to go there are sometimes gang-raped and "snuffed out."

I've seen something on it, not sure if it was THAT special.  I wish nothing good for Joran.

I would say if this is where Joran is going, that he might opt for the more humane electric chair.

I saw it, Tyler! They get water every 3 days, and have a mental section for those who have snapped. Basically, dead bodies are removed without any particular concern and injuries go virtually untreated. Isolation, "the hole", is dung and rat infested and dark.

All that is not even addressing the inmates and what they will do to you!

I'm not sure I could design a better place for Sporter.

Peruvian Stephany Flowers was not killed by Joran but by thugs from the casino...

She and Joran were card counters and cheats ... casinos DON'T like that S$it!

Gaming commissions are in place to assure casinos play by the rules. Casinos aren't sinister places that force you to gamble and then take your money with force. I've been in casinos all over the world and all of them are legal, professional, and forthright.
To suggest that casinos are responsible for murder is allowing Joran to be the victim. This is typical projection when someone is under-educated about business practice, law, and other information that is above their heads.
Casinos aren't the "bad guy". Joran is a murderer, he was caught red handed (no pun) and now he must face the judicial system. Joran is the bad guy.

I also find it sickening that Joran is getting marriage proposals. Obviously these are coming from anti-government protesters and women who are desperate for attention.

My husband played in that casino so many times and for sure made more money than stephany and every time my hubby left the casino with some money they escorted us to leave the casino save...

Tylergal, I watched parts of the special on Lurigoncho last night.  I had company and they kept talking and weren't interested for some reason.  I guess we expect all to be.  If it comes on again, I will try to watch in peace and quiet.

I did see the NatGeo one in it's entirety, however.

And, yes, I do see a form of "justice" of sorts in Joran being in such a hellhole.  Personally I am an advocate of the death penalty for those who commit multiple  murders and that's what Joran would get in our state should we be able to try him.

So anything short of that seems a bit light to me but the fact that this is a form of living hell is of some compensation.  Joran very likely will encounter "street justice" in there and at long last pay for what he has done.

Hi Anna, there was a guy who was leaving and who had one arm amputated while there and the other had been stabbed with a broken bottle.  He told of seeing gangs of prisoners get around a prisoner they did not like, and cut them in pieces like a candy roll.  Remember the gangsters from Aruba saying Joran had cut Natalee's head off...on RWV, and the picture of the bloody girl in the bathtub, and the talk of Natalee being at their house and her legs had turned dark blue...well, this might be similar justice for Joran for what he did to Natalee, if they sliced him up like a meat loaf.  It would take a while since he is so tall, but I would be willing to contribute monies to the meat slicer.

Oh, I am happy you saw it.  I think that is a much better place for the Sporter than the nice accommodations he would have in the big house in Alabama while awaiting death row.  I just think this is such justice for someone who has always felt so entitled.

Dutchman Joran van der Sloot would be an accomplice in crime of young Peruvian Stephany Flowers Miraflores hotel CT

Lima (Peru.com) .- Investigations into the murder of Stephany Flores (21) give an unexpected twist, as the Dutchman citizen Joran van der Sloot, imprisoned for the murder of the girl would have an accomplice, according to its advocates presented .

Highness Pablo Navarro, Dutchman's lawyer in Peru, described as "very strange" that the police have not questioned the owner of the hotel TAC, where the crime occurred.

"The owner is a Chinese citizen of 26 years and have never called to testify," said the counsel to the newspaper 'Perú.21'. The lawyer hinted his suspicion that employer. However, the identity of the character kept in reserve.

Highness also said that there are doubts about the research. "They say my sponsored confessed, but the lawyer was present and represented him at that time has not come back. So far not found," he said.

In addition, counsel questioned the police questioning. "The translator was not sent by the Netherlands Embassy. Do not handled legal terms. Therefore, the alleged confession of my client is not valid," he said.

On the other hand, told the Central Az portal, Joseph Tacopina, foreign supporter of Van der Sloot, said the Netherlands would be the accomplice of this close friend, the Uruguayan citizen Elton Garcia.

The attorney also criticized the actions of the Peruvian police for investigation and interrogation of his client at the beginning of the process.

IMO anything Anita posts now she wants us to see.  Jan Brennan is too stupid to use that tactic:

This is so true.  Anita is trying to win fans.  We know what kind of person she is but her focus now is the others looking at her.

Klaas is right.  These are all tactics.  She is playing the poor me card.  You know the card that says:

1. Oh poor me I am a grieving widow.
2. Oh poor me I have no money (she is loaded in my opinion).
3. Oh poor me I have two sons.
4. Oh poor me I have to pay for their education.
5. Oh poor me I have to pay for my sons top notch laywers.
6. Oh poor me I am trying to find people I can pay off in Peru.
7. Oh poor me I have to send my son money in prison.
8. Oh poor me I have another future psycho at home to raise and let lose in the word.
9. Oh poor me I have to stay in Aruba because I can't leave this house (evidence).
10. Oh poor me Julia Renfro is my friend ;o)

Exactly!

It just burns me up! Anita should spend her focus on the "oh poor me's" that her Satan's Spawn has caused to the true victims! Natalee's and Stephany's family have lost innocent children and they'll never see them come into their potential. They'll never attend their graduations or weddings. They'll never see their smile again, or feel their embrace, or have the peace they once knew before Urine Van Der Slop intruded in their lives with a vengeance. Anita did nothing but add to their pain, and make excuses and deny and cover up.

Screw her and the pity party she rode in on!

There's a good reason the Sloot son's feel the way they do about women, they call her mommy.

Very true Texasmom.  Every mother should learn from Anita Van der Sloot on how not to raise their sons.
