MAY 2005

May 24 – Natalee graduates from Mountain Brook High School. Last time Dave sees Natalee

May 26 – Beth drives Natalee to a friends house to begin the trip to Aruba. Last time Beth sees Natalee.

May 26 – MB kids arrive in Aruba and check into the Sunspree Holiday Inn in Aruba. Natalee checks into room 7114

May 26 – Joran allegedly gets into scuffle with Natalee’s cousin Thomas Twitty in the Excelsior Casino

May 27 – Natalee goes to CnC’s with her friends. Reportedly, GVC makes improper advances to Natalee while she is dancing. Allegedly Bryan Reynolds intervenes in ensuing scuffle.

May 29 – 10:00 AM – Natalee & friends head to the beach for fun in the sun

May 29 – Natalee reportedly attends the Soul Beach Music Festival

May 29 – 5:00 pm – reported start of Texas Hold ‘Em tournament in which, Joran, Paulus & Thomas Twitty participate

May 29 – ~9:30 pm – Natalee & friends join a seated Joran at the Black Jack table. Video clip shows a man seated to Natalee’s left who looks very similar to Paulus.

May 29 – 9-10 pm – Joran reports he leaves the Excelsior Casino and walks to the McDonalds. En route, he calls his father to pick him up. He calls Deepak to go to CnC’s after calling other friend(s) first for a ride.

May 29 – ~11:00 pm – Natalee & friends go to CnC’s

May 29 – ~11:00 pm - Joran is allegedly picked up by his Father at McDonalds at by PvdS

May 29 – ~midnight – Deepak & Satish arrive at vdS residence to pick-up Joran

May 30 – ~12:15 –12:30 am – J2K arrive at CnC’s. Joran claims to buy the 3 a yard of whiskey & coke each

May 30 – 12:15 to 1 AM - Natalee & Joran reportedly meet, dance, Joran does jelly shot off Natalee, Natalee has shot of 151 Rum.

May 30 – 1:00 AM – CnC’s closes

May 30 - 1:26 AM - keycard used to access Natalee’s room

May 30 - ~1:18 – 1:30 AM – Natalee is seen in Deepak’s car, with Joran, Satish & Deepak driving away from CnC’s. Deepak is driving, Satish in front passenger seat, Joran in rear passenge’s seat, and Natalee in rear driver’s side seat. Deepak reportedly circles the area around CnC’s 3 times, before actually leaving the area. Supposedly they pass the MB kids waiting for taxis, and the MB kids urge Natalee to get out of the car. Deepak claims he stopped the car and asked Natalee if she would like to get out, which she refuses.

May 30 - The ARUBA sky is partly cloudy. Temperature is 84.2 degrees. Dew point is 77 degrees. Humidity is 79%. Wind is out of the east at 13.8 mph. Ground visibility is perfectly clear at 7 miles to horizon. There is a quarter-moon in the waning phase.

May 30 – after 1:30 AM - J2k may have driven to the vd Sloot home, driven to see the California Lighthouse

May 30 – 1:40 AM – Reportedly the Kalpoes drop Joran & Natalee at Marriott Beach

May 30 – ~1:40 AM - Allegedly, Joran & Natalee remove their shoes before walking up the beach to the fisherman’s huts. They have sexual relations of some sort, unknown whether it is consensual or not. Joran claims to not have condom with him.

May 30 – 1:50 AM – Kalpoes reportedly arrive at their home

May 30 – 2:00 AM – Deepak allegedly signs on to his computer and stays on computer until after 3 AM

May 30 – 2:40 AM - Joran allegedly calls Deepak for a ride home from the beach after walking to the fisherman’s huts for better reception.

May 30 – 2:30–3:00 AM – the gardener witness claims to have seen 3 boys in Deepak’s car on the dirt road by the pond at the Racquet Club. Identifies Joran in front seat, Deepak in passenger seat, and unidentified male in rear seat. Claims boys try to hide their faces.

May 30 – ~3:00 AM - Joran allegedly phones Deepak again to inform him he is ½ way home by walking. Reportedly Joran has also claimed Deepak picked him up, which was later claimed to be Satish

May 30 - ~3:00 AM – Natalee reportedly made a phone call to William Morris, a fellow MBHS graduate in which a voice is heard to ask “Are you calling home?” Call not heard until that afternoon on the return trip to the USA.

May 30 - ~3:00 AM – a maid at the Marriott allegedly hears a female scream, and witnesses 2 dark-skinned males forcing a woman into a white SUV

May 30 – Fisherman’s huts allegedly broken into

May 30 – post 3 AM – Rumors of ATM withdrawal(s) from PvdS’s bank account

May 30 - ~3:15 AM – Joran allegedly text messages Deepak to inform him he is now home. Joran makes himself a snack, then surfs the computer for porn and sports scores. Joran emails or IM’s Deepak through the computer. Deepak responds once. Joran sends another message.

May 30 - ~3:15 AM = Natalee reportedly made a phone call to her home in MB in which she says, “I don’t even know these guys.” Reportedly a screeching animal surmised to be the neighbor’s monkey is heard in the background.

May 30 @ ? - reportedly there is an 8½ minute phone call between Joran and Deepak

May 30 –3:22 AM - keycard used to access Natalee’s room

May 30 – ~ 6:30 AM - Paulus allegedly drives Joran to the bus-stop for school

May 30 – Joran allegedly falls asleep in class. Takes AP test, in which he receives 1 out of 5

May 30 – Natalee discovered to have not returned to the hotel, and chaperone advised

May 30 – 10:00 AM - First group of MB students assemble in lobby for chartered bus ride to the airport to return flight
May 30 – ~11:00 am - Missing person’s report given to Beach Patrol by Lee Broughton

May 30 - ~12:00 noon – Beth receives phone call from Aruba notifying her that Natalee has disappeared

May 30 – 2:45 PM – Joran’s school day ends and he is alleged to play tennis with Guido Wever and Koen Gottenbos in the afternoon. Art Word claims the tennis match never happened.

May 30 - ~6PM – Private jet leaves Birmingham, AL for Aruba, carrying Beth, Jug, Jody Bearman & several others of the “Fabulous Seven”

May 30 - 8 PM – DEA agent Eric Williams meets with Paul Lilly, one of the chaperones for the MB group

May 30 - ~11 PM – Beth & Co arrive Aruba and are met at airport by Alberto Groeneveldt and Claudio Eldridge of Universal Aviation Aruba, who escort them around Aruba during the early days

May 30/31 until 1 AM – the group goes to CnC’s, then they meet Charles Croes & Gabriel Leo at a Valero gas station. En route to the HI, CC detours to La Cabana seeking info, then to the Marriott Beach area where they encounter some teenagers who recognize the description of Deepak’s car and lead them to the vd Sloot home. The silver car is located within the property fence and license plate number is recorded. Meanwhile, the Twitty group returns to the HI where Beth & Jug meet with the chaperone & DEA agent. They view the security tape of the Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament showing Joran & the Twitty Twins, while their friends search the beach areas. Reportedly, when C Croes describes the car to the teenagers, they call it Joran’s car.

May 31 – 2 AM – C Croes allegedly returns to the HI to inform the Twitty’s of the info.

May 31- ~2:30 AM - BHT group arrives at Noord police station and wait for police to accompany them to the vd Sloot home

May 31 – 3 AM – Paulus emerges from house and takes the group to the Wyndham looking for Joran. Joran is allegedly gambling with Deepak & Guido Wever at the Radisson and Wyndham casinos that evening.

May 31 – until 5 AM - Group returns to vd Sloot home & confrontation ensues in which Joran & Deepak claim they dropped Natalee at the HI at 2AM where she encounters a security guard after stumbling & hitting her head on the ground. Joran allegedly gives details of his sexual encounter with Natalee. Paulus allegedly says he picked Joran up from McDonalds at 4 AM, which he later changes to 11 PM. At some point the group allegedly goes to the Holiday Inn to view the drop off site.

May 31 – 10 AM Beth & Jug arrive at Noord police station to file missing person report, but are told it is not needed. Reportedly, the police referred to Natalee as “puta” and Beth & Jug were made to wait while Jacobs shaves and has “corn flakes”

May 31 – ~3 PM – J2K are questioned & released

JUNE 2005
June 1 – Dave Holloway & Paul Reynolds arrive on island after miscommunication and cancelled flight on May 31

June 1 – Anita & two younger sons (?) arrive back in Aruba from the NL

June 1 – Beth is allowed to give her first statement which has to be translated. She reports that details have been changed in the translation.

June 1 - First organized search organized by Renfro & Munzenhofer
June 2 - Helicopters & all terrain vehicles employed by polis in search

June 2 – Beth reviews security footage of the HI in which Natalee never appeared on 5-30-05

June 2 - $10,000 reward for Natalee’s safe return

June 2 – Flier distribution organized by International Friends of Aruba

June 2 - DAVE HOLLOWAY observed some suspicious activity in the lighthouse/dunes area just before the DUTCH Marines conducted their first search there

June 2 – Reportedly a $4,000 ransom was demanded by some people in a choller house. When the house was investigated that same evening, Natalee was not found.

June 3 - From Dave Holloway: "In late August the Diario received a recorded phone tip from a woman who said that a Police Officer named Halle took a body from the sand dunes prior to the search on June 3, 2005.
She said that Halle was a crooked cop and was friends with Paulus Van der sloot. I turned that tape over to the police and the Dutch."
June 3 - Aruban Coastguard searches waters

June 3 – First day of final exams at ISA

June 3 – Reward for info on Natalee has now climbed to $50,000

June 3 – first American News Media crew on island was MSNBC, following the first correspondent to the island from the syndicated show, “a Current Affair.”

June 3 – Reportedly a former policeman follows a KIA sedan with a blonde woman matching Natalee’s description from an ATM location. After following the car from house to house, the police are called. The girl is brought to the police station, the Twittys are called in, but the woman turned out to be an American tourist. Similarly it is later reported that Hubert Tiel follows another woman from house to house, before she leaves by helicopter.

June 4 - Allegro Hotel searched room by room

June 5 - Johns & Jones arrested.

Ladies sunglasses & white security shirt found in Colony area of SE end of island

June 5 – Gerold Dompig reportedly replaced vd Straaten as lead investigator per Oduber’s orders. Vd Straaten becomes lead investigator again within a few days, allegedly around the 10th.

June 6 – Island-wide search for Natalee Holloway. 500 gov't employees
show up for search of SouthEastern tip of island

June 7 – Matt Holloway & George Twitty arrive in Aruba

June 8 – Fourth and final day of final exams at ISA

June 8 - Judge J.S. Kuiperdal remands Johns & Jones in custody for an additional 8 days

June 8 - "Wall of Hope and Prayer" for NATALEE is built by Eddie Culpepper

June 9 – ~6 – 6:30 AM - J2K arrested on “reasonable suspicion of murder, manslaughter or intentional containment with the dead as consequence”

June 9 – Deepak’s car is impounded, his computer seized along with other personal effects during a search of the Kalpoe residence

June 9 - 6:00 PM - International School of Aruba senior graduation @ Wyndham Hotel

June 9 – Oduber hugs Beth Twitty at a press conference

June 10 – Natalee’s loved ones rush to the lighthouse area after a police official tells the media that one of the three young men in custody admitted “something bad happened” and was leading police to the scene.

June 10 - Beth stated that her D.N.A. was requested by JANSSEN (BETH gave saliva and blood samples)

June 10 - Late that evening FOX News, AP and CNN reported that Dompig and Edward Croes stated that one of the arrested suspects had confessed, and police were being taken to a crime scene. DOMPIG also stated that one of the persons in custody had stated "that something bad happened to NATALEE.” Shortly after that statement became public, a press conference was held in which one senior government official made no reference to the Assistant Commissioner's statement, choosing rather, to say that the authorities were at a critical juncture in the investigations.

June 10 - Beth & Dave told by FBI that Natalee may no longer be alive because the 3 Main Suspects were “beginning to implicate each other, and they were not denying the crime, and they were finger-pointing at each other.”

June 10 - BETH phoned her mother and told her that Natalee was probably no longer alive.

June 10 - This weekend began scaling back of search for Natalee. ALE search teams venturing out only after credible tips & coast guard patrols offshore

June 10 - Oduber addresses Aruba that if something bad happened to Natalee it would be bad for the island long considered one of the safest CARIBBEAN OCEAN nations to visit, whose main industry is tourism.

June 10 – Aru-Bay video of what appears to be the recovery of a body is filmed. It is later claimed to be that of a 7 year old illegal immigrant from Columbia, although the body is later reported to have been found a year earlier

June 11 - Rudy Croes states twice that one of the boys is talking and a body will be found soon.

June 11 - Oduber says there is blood in Deepak's car

June 11 – The radio stations in Aruba are also reporting that ARUBAN police are heading to recover NATALEE’s remains. First it was at the lighthouse, then it was Bubali Plas (shallow lake), then it’s Canashito, at the rock quarry.

June 11 or 12 – Julia Renfro hysterically notifies the Twittys that Natalee had been found dead and moved to the island’s courthouse. Julia inserts herself to the Twittys’ overcrowded mini-van as they rush to the courthouse where they are met by a throng of television cameras. The family finds the courthouse locked and apparently empty. Julia claimed her information came from a deputy information office in the justice department, but it was found that no official ever leaked the information.

June 11 –Vivian van der Biezen, spokeswoman for the Attorney General said, “The investigation (is) was at a very crucial point.”

June 11 – Video tape of strange events taking place near the lighthouse were uploaded to the internet.

June 11 – Public announcements regarding confession & body location are officially retracted

June 11 – Aru-Bay video of rock painting is filmed. Aru-Bay video of body recovery is uploaded to Internet.

June 11 - vd STRAATEN was asked by a DUTCH journalist if he had any hopes for a positive outcome? STRAATEN replied, “You always have to be hopeful, but I don’t believe anymore that we will find Natalee alive.” When asked why not, STRAATEN replied, “Because I know the details of the investigation and you don't!”

June 11 - Curacao criminal judge DICK van den BRINK came to Aruba & remanded J2K to be held for an additional 8 days

June 12 - Families asked to stop talking to the press

June 12 - Amalin Flanegin was added as second prosecutor after rumors that she would replace Jannsen

June 12 – An Amigoe article in the Aruban newspaper stated, “The father of one of the boys is a substitute judge. And every impression has to be prevented that the judge that is assigned is friends with the father of the boy.”

June 12 - Aru-Bay video of rock painting is uploaded to Internet

June 13 – Joran reportedly tells ALE that Deepak killed & buried Natalee near the huts. Joran reportedly also claims that he was dropped at his home at 1:40.

June 13 - “FoxNews” RIVERA reported he just got off the phone with the Justice Minister RUDY CROES, and that CROES said there would be a “resolution to the case momentarily.”

June 13 – John & Jones were released. JONES was released after his wife and mother testified that JONES was home sick all day 5-29 and 5-30 and wife was continuously with JONES.

June 13 – The lawyer of suspect ABRAHAM JONES, CHRIS LeJUEZ stated the following:

Two suspects: Joran van der Sloot and Abraham Jones were/are detained in the same cellblock at the police department in Noord. It is here that a crying suspect, Joran van der Sloot supposedly commented to another suspect, Abraham Jones the following: He is very preoccupied because he thinks that the other two Surinamese suspects might be lying and blaming him for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
His new story is that they (with they, I mean the two other suspects) dropped him off at his home, with Natalee Holloway still in the car, further he and Natalee exchanged e-mail address and that was the last time he saw her. He also added that the story that he told the officials was orchestrated at his home, near the pool.

June 13 – a second “Wall of Hope and Prayer” is erected

June 14 – 3 condoms, duct tape, and women’s size 14-16 pink polka-dot or pink floral underwear are found near the Marriott Hotel Beach

June 15 – Search & seizure of vd Sloot’s red jeep & medium-blue SUV, computers and misc. other physical evidence. Ben King present during search.

June 17 – Steve Croes arrested

June 17 – Dutch judge Bob Witt rules that Paulus not be allowed visitation with Joran. Witt also barred Carlos (Joran’s attorney) from visting b/c Carlos had visited with security guards during their arrest. Joran’s family hires Richie Kock and Arjan Debie as attorneys for Joran. Judge Witt extends remand of J2K

June 17? – Judge rules to allow the Kalpoes lawyers to receive the documents pertaining to the case that they asked for

June 21 – Beth & Greta visit with Paulus & Anita at vdS home for 90 minutes. Allegedly Anita describes Natalee’s underwear & genitals, as well as provides a graphic description of Joran’s sexual encounter with Natalee.

June 23 – Paulus vd Sloot is arrested under suspicion of complicity to premeditated murder, complicity to murder and complicity to kidnapping.

June 24 – Police secretly tape conversations of J2K while they are being transported together in police vehicle

June 24 – St John’s Day celebrated in Aruba by fires throughout the island

June 25 – TES arrives in Aruba with 27 members and 4 cadaver dogs

June 26 – Judge releases PvdS and S Croes, but remands J2K

June 27 – TES searches rock quarry with a positive hit by the cadaver dogs

The committee consists of ex-Governor Olindo Koolman, banker Bill Carson, president of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce Edwin Roos, president of the Aruba Free Zone Drs. Gregg Peterson, psychologist Jaap Beaujon, the president of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association Jorge Pesquera, director of the Aruba Tourism Authority Myrna Jansen, and Government spokesperson Ruben Trapenberg.

JULY 2005

July 3 – ALE reconstructs what happened the night Natalee disappeared with each suspect by taking each one to various points on the island

July 4 – Joran detained for an additional 60 days
July 4 – Deepak & Satish were released

July 4 – Dutch judge ruled that the suspect’s attorneys could be present during interrogations and anyone could now visit Joran in prison and visits would not be monitored

July 4 – Dutch F-16’s land in Curacao
