NationalGeographic ranks 115 tourist destinations

ARUBA

-"Social/cultural intergrity is questionable."
-"Inappropriate coastal development and misuse of the scarce water resources are the largest challenges to sustainability."

Score  54

54 appears to be a low score but i am having trouble pulling up the pdf file that shows it's rankings...

Art and I talked to Ms. Flanagan about all of the red flags that we were seeing ant that we thought that Koen, Joran and Deepak took Natalee out in the boat. She agreed with that theory. She added that the reason she had left the case was because she thought Koen was lying, and when she asked the police to reinterview him , they refused.

So where is Koen's statement?  Rolling Eyes

I think there were way more than J2K involved and it was well planned ahead of time.  And, they had a lot of practice - 20 times before!

o/t Awhile ago I made a post in the MP forum re: Kaitlin. New info on Mark Lewis from a report on Channel 9 news (link included). Sounds like he was a walking time bomb.

I would like to know that too. Since it seems he was questioned once, ther should infact be at least one statement. But then we had PVDS with his contacts in ALE who could easily have removed it i wuld think.....since several of the statements are also missing pages....how convienent.

One would think there should be one. But, then again, we are talking about Lieruba. Also, I remember Beth saw a statement of Joran's  torn up on van der Stratten's (?)  desk. This is all such an illogical MESS.

We have heard the sum total of exactly <<ZERO>>> about what Joran is supposed to have doing on previous nights. Not a thing, except for apocryphal accounts that he was hanging out at the HI casino. From MB eyewitnesses. NOT from Joran himself.

Think... WHY DOESN'T THIS HAPPEN ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT?

Wouldn't that have been a more likely night for Joran to habve hit the local scene? What made Sunday special?

It was Natalee's last night there. Joran KNEW that.

He was probably spending Friday and Saturday getting things ready.

They've done it at least 20 times before and nothing bad happened until this time.

So that does sound like Koenhad been interviewed, but we also heard that Mr Gotenbos spoke for Koen.  Hmmmm.....

Why was Koen so scared that he slept with Mama?

Why was Guido so scared that he reportedly wet his pants in Posner's office?  And then fled the island, not finishing school and leaving behind a brand new car.  If Guido was so wealthy that he could afford a brand new car, what was he doing woking as a Croupier and going to HS at the same time?  Was it to be a crooked dealer to laundry money or let his frineds win?
Perhaps we can talk this Nowak (astronaut) chick into lending Guido Wever some diapers. Sounds like he can use them.

Interesting post from National Geographic igsigs. Article to contain this info.......and Aruba is ranked 54, one higher than Hue, Vietnam.

++++++++++++++++

Not so Bad

Mid-scoring destinations remain attractive, but with worrisome degradation. Some places are doing something about it. Some aren't.

The many destinations receiving mid-range scores, 55 to 69, fall into two camps: those with strong positives canceled out by equally strong negatives, and those with lots of notable, but not yet disastrous, negatives.

Goodevening to my Monkeys,
O/T just a quick drive by before I go to bed.  I wanted to tip my hat to Klaasend for this evenings deactivation...I agreed. Dear Klaas always looking out for all Monkeys.
I have my computer on all day and always reading to stay tuned into my Monkeys and any news about Natalee. (I do other stuff too, really I do.) Our utility bill was nearly $490 this month (due to all this snow and cold in CO.) My DH says it's because I keep my computer on all day reading SM!!!  Laughing
Night to all.

The points about Aruba are well taken in the article. the island is squandering it's natural resources, building seems out of control, Valero is blowing it's toxic  fumes on the heads of school children, the islands landfill is directly on the oceanfront.........Wouldn't you think that an island of the netherland Antilles......with Holland famous for windmills would have at least some energy generated by the wind? NO
