Goodevening to my Monkeys,
O/T just a quick drive by before I go to bed.  I wanted to tip my hat to Klaasend for this evenings deactivation...I agreed. Dear Klaas always looking out for all Monkeys.
I have my computer on all day and always reading to stay tuned into my Monkeys and any news about Natalee. (I do other stuff too, really I do.) Our utility bill was nearly $490 this month (due to all this snow and cold in CO.) My DH says it's because I keep my computer on all day reading SM!!!  Laughing
Night to all.
Goodnight hummingbird

Thanks Bleached

I was hoping somebody would read it. Nice summation.

The points about Aruba are well taken in the article. the island is squandering it's natural resources, building seems out of control, Valero is blowing it's toxic  fumes on the heads of school children, the islands landfill is directly on the oceanfront.........Wouldn't you think that an island of the netherland Antilles......with Holland famous for windmills would have at least some energy generated by the wind? NO

You'd think too that they would clean up the garbage on the beaches and get rid of the slum areas & crack houses.

Tib You rated very well. I for one would love to visit someday. Sounds lovely there.

Great Barrier Reef, AUSTRALIA
Score: 66

• "The reef is well managed, but there are very real problems stemming from land use on the adjacent mainland and the fragmented management units involved."

• "A beautiful and unique environment, but it is already degraded and needs careful management to ensure that it does not deteriorate further."

• "Stunning scenery, very popular destination with increasing tourist traffic; however, operators do seem to be doing their part to preserve and protect the reef. Many areas surrounding it are very touristy."

Tasmania, AUSTRALIA
Score: 77

• "Heritage assets still well conserved but need to watch commercialization in and around major parks."

• "The logging industry is out of control and the recent exemption of logging from the endangered species act is atrocious. All aspects are positive except for logging."

Uluru (Ayer's Rock) Area, AUSTRALIA
Score: 71

• "The work of the indigenous community with their tours and outstanding interpretation center as well as the licensing requirements for guides to the park are excellent. Casual visitors will not be aware of the extent of the work being done here and its success."

• "Excellent management plan for park, but the local Aboriginal community still appears to be under pressure either from too little involvement or too much tourism."

Hello . Just popping in, been busy ( work --- ugh ) .
There is lots of chokos in the stores becasue of Valentine's Day.
Be careful with all that chocolate around... dangerous to addicts.  Embarassed

Hello Kat_Gram. Have you thawed out yet so close to the Arctic?
I am willing to take the risk on the chocs  Laughing

Time to log out - will be back later to sweep.  Wink  I saw Tidycat in the lounge earlier so the windows will be done and Lala'smom  picked up her banana peels so an easy night ahead.

Be good, monkeys

It has been a week from Siberia here. Even cold for here. The whole midwest and central Canada and the USA are in the grip of a record cold thing. How cold was it ? In Celcius -43 with the wind chill.
One day, I came in late and freezing. Went right to the sauna and stayed there with my coat, hat and boots on for fifteen minutes. No Ch&t.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRR .
People are sick and cranky everywhere.

Hi everyone!

G'night to those I missed and or are logging for the night.

On Sanders cell phone: I have a question. Is there any way they could have traced the cell phone to it's location? Isn't there a chip within all our phones that the FBI or cell phone companies can trace a locate all cell phones in investigations such as this? Unless the phone was completely destroyed or tossed in the water? But then again, on their end unless it was destroyed beyond repair, couldn't they still trace the phones location? Not call it but trace the location some how?

Joran the night Natalee disappeared:  I believe Joran had plans later to go to CnCs but to pick up one of Natalee's friends(Don't remember which one that was sitting next to him, at the casino). He thought she was really pretty. I believe he might of attempted to place drugs in her drink or kidnap her instead of Natalee. But instead, Natalee approached him first so he did not have to work for it that night. IMO

My opinion on Sander's phone is that it was lost with a few well placed hammer whacks. If it was a pix phone, there would be a chip and would you trust that you could erase everything on a chip ?

Just logged back in to say thank you.  We are not frozen - sitting here enjoying 25 deg. Celsius.  Have seen the pics on TV of the cold in US and Canada.  Hope we do not have a winter ahead of us anything like that.

BB  Yep it is all good here and so pretty.  Logging is a hot potato, but is the source of a lot of employment and they do grow a lot of pine in plantations which save the old wood forests.  A lot political huffing and puffing about the whole thing, but they have to have something to wrangle over  Laughing

Well, I guess if you erase all on a chip it possibly could be lost. But, it's like chips in our computers. Even if I reformat or erase all on my pc wouldn't FBI or computer experts still be able to restore it from the memory stored on the hard drive? I would think the same with a cell phone. Maybe a little more difficult but doable?
