Well, if we based everything on pictures, I think most of us think Julia Renfro looks about 60 but someone said she recently had a baby.  Miraculous conception or deceiving pictures.  Who knows.  Sometimes people do look older/younger in photographs.

Well if he was arrested Thursday, it is possible that he got free the same day or Friday. I feel sorry for his mom ...she is doing better now but this bad news about her son will not help her at all!!!! ....

Well if he was arrested Thursday, it is possible that he got free the same day or Friday. I feel sorry for his mom ...she is doing better now but this bad news about her son will not help her at all!!!! ....

I read a later translation that says it was determined that the motorcyclist was drunk and failed to
turn his headlight on.  That is why Ricardo Flores, Jr. did not see the cyclist and charges were dropped.

ORANJESTAD — In a case against a drug smuggler, the Public Prosecutor (OM) was declared inadmissible due to serious violation of standards. For years, the male had namely provided the Criminal Investigation Service (CID) with information on organized drug smuggle from Venezuela to Aruba. The judge had decided in June that the suspect could not be prosecuted because the CID was aware of his share in the drug smuggle, but kept using his information in spite of this.

The male is suspected of assisting in the smuggling of a large quantity of cocaine to Aruba on September 30th 2008. However, he stated before Justice he had done so because he had feared for his life. For instance, at a certain moment, the leader of the criminal gang who was responsible for the drug smuggle, had sent for him. The leader with the nickname El Ingeniero had supposedly threatened him and had executed a person before his eyes to demonstrate what would happen to squealers.

During the session of the court case, the CID-officer of Justice Hans Mos and head of the CID Alcides Davelaar were heard as witnesses on the role of the drug informer. Telephone data from the suspect – in particular from around September 30th 2008 – was asked back. The latter was necessary to determine whether the suspect had still tried to contact the CID to inform the service on the upcoming smuggle. However, the OM was not able to produce the telephone data entirely. Nevertheless, based on the statements, the judge decided one could not preclude that the CID had deployed the suspect up to the last moment before his apprehension.
Moreover, the male had not received any support either, although the CID was aware the informer had been threatened with death.
 
Infiltration
The role of the drug informer had therefore gone further than only providing information. According to the judge, the male was given a certain position within the Venezuelan criminal organization, with foreknowledge of the CID. This form of citizen infiltration is very controversial following the well-known IRT-affaire in the Netherlands that had occurred in the nineties. In that, citizens – with or without a police record – had been used to infiltrate criminal organizations. In order to let these citizen infiltrators employ a certain position within the criminal gangs, Justice had knowingly also let for example smuggled drugs through. The used tracking methods – amongst which this citizen infiltration – had eventually led to the dismissal of two ministers and police officials, and a parliamentary inquiry. One of the conclusions was that henceforth all tracking methods used by Justice, had to be regulated by law. That was also done in the so-called BOB-law that was implemented in 2000. For that matter, the deployment of criminal citizens for infiltration is virtually prohibited in the Netherlands.

Not regulated by law
Infiltration on Aruba (as well as in the Netherlands Antilles) by both citizens and police, is not regulated by law yet. In 2008, the Attorney Generals of Aruba and the Antilles had drawn up a guideline in anticipation of new legislation to regulate this. The guideline was drawn up because of a court case against a criminal drug smuggling organization (Domino-case) in which the OM had used illegal tapping methods. The judge had not allowed this obtained evidence to be used. This new legislation is still afoot.
