OMG  I almost had a heart attack. I was getting out of the truck down by the gate when I looked down and there was a rattle snake on the side of the drive...I almost stepped on it
I didn't know there were rattlesnakes here and I didn't have my gun with me. I went to Wallyworld and bought Snake A Way and am putting it around all the gates and the house entrances. 

I would have had a heart attack 4 Donks.  At least please say you had your boots on.

Yes I always wear boots. Thank heavens I didn't just pop out of the truck like usual. I'll be looking down from now on.

I could have gone all day without hearing about a rattlesnake .....   
We mostly have cotton mouth or copper heads.If I see a rattler,I will faint.   

I have cottonmouths down by the ponds and they tell me there are copperheads in the stuff that grows on the field fencing but this sucker was in the driveway...scared the you know what out of me..
The lady at Wallyworld that sold me the Snake a Way told me to put mothballs around and snakes stay away.

It seems I remember talking about that here some tome ago. I think Muffy might have talked about it.  I think she said it worked but you have to be careful with your pets.

I've known some folks that use mothballs as a snake repellent, but I don't.  I'm afraid of children, or animals getting hold of it.  I just try to keep the areas clear of things that attract snakes.  And I keep in mind the food chain.

We have black snakes and the take care of vremin and I'm not scared of them but I worry about the animals getting bitten by this sucker.

I wish that's all we had, but we have cottonmouths (there's a creek at back of my property), copperheads, coral snakes and etc. and of course rattlesnakes.  We've got scorpions,  big ole giant azz red wasps, centipedes and the like, but I still enjoy living out where I do.  There are ranches near my place so there's wildlife.

Hi Monkeys, been really busy and stuff this weekend I won two gold medals. My hooligan competition was the best I skated, but the second routine was even better. One WON a gold and something even better when I got off the ice. So all you psychic monkeys..... here ya go, this is my FIRST PRIZE!!!!!!!!!

I'm so proud of you for getting the gold, and SPEECHLESS for getting the ring bling!!! Have the wedding in Chicago so a lot of us Monkeys can attend!!! Good for you!

  Not sure if it will be in Chicago or in Texas. Would like for it to be in Chicago there is a beautiful church there, but my parish doesn't charge (because it is ugly probably) so we will see. It's a long ways off til the wedding. If not in Chicago, we can have a party up there after the wedding.

ON the good news front (instead of my usual whining), I got to spend most of the weekend with 2 of my 3 sidekicks-Friday night was the fair with the boys, then they stayed with us and we took them to the family reunion yesterday, and they camped out in our tent, instead of with their parents. It was so much fun!

Which, of course means I have to go to bed early tonight, sidekicks don't get that Mimi needs more sleep than they do! But it was very funny hearing sidekick # 2 explain to Alaska sidekick why there was a wig in my bathroom. #2 says ""Member when Mimi had to take that medicine that made her hair fall out? She looked so silly without hair, she got the wig". Alaska sidekick wanted them to try on "Erma" the wig, but it was too late and I wasn't in the mood for taking pictures. It's so cool how they just take things in stride and don't treat me like I'm sick (which I'm not, but I don't have the "go power" I used to...and they understand and are cool with that. I couldn't keep up with them 24/7, but I definatly count them among my best "hang out with" friends. (Uh, I think I miss them already...I've never been without any of them for a whole week!)

And Monks, this week I'll take ya'll to the UP State Fair...get ready for tacky tattooes and cotton candy!

Glad you had fun Tevye and that is great they didn't get scared or treat you like you were sick. You are a ROCK!! Have a great time at the fair. Bring back some cotton candy please.
