alert- get behind a travel trailer. They will only go 20 mph, and
they'll get blown over the side before I will. Open all windows all the
way.(Oh, secure any loose papers or lightweight clothes first). Turn up
Dixie Chicks "Wide Open Spaces", and scream the lyrics-wonder if the county will pay to replace a few speakers in my car!. Too busy to be scared..

 When driving thru a severe thunderstorm that I was too stupid to check the weather channel on the XM radio, pull over at least 7 times and add an hour to the drive time. Still, Escanaba to home in5 1/2 hours wasn't bad. It was just that Mancelona to home part that was worse than any blizzard I've ever driven in. And I ...get home...and it's sprinkling! XXX Rd. Magic!

You really need to get out more!

 

I remember when the Yugo got blown off the Mackinaw Bridge. I am a bridgeaphobe so each time I go over I freak. I have never thought of opening all the windows - good plan next time! 

  A Yugo got blown off that bridge. OMG!!!! I am a bridgeaphobe too TBM!! There are really tall bridges here and I shake when I have to drive over them. And the Ship Channel Bridge down by Houston, I would never drive over myself because I close my eyes when I go over it.   

the Yugo didn't so much as get "blown" over the bridge, it was sorta fuel by booze and a desire to die. In short, the lady driving it meant for it to go over. Hmmm...I wonder if she set her GPS for "hell" in Machinac City? Or, maybe she set it, then ignored the lady, and the GPS took its revenge.

The worst part about the bridge (it's the longest suspension bridge in da world, ya) is driving in the lane with the grid. That noise alone scares da heck outta me. I see it's gonna take a while to loose the Yooper accent, eh? Too funny!

You all have been chatty    My headache is back, and it is just now slowing down so in a bit I'm going to the store. I am going to only use one pillow tonight. Also two nights in a row I didn't take my half of xanax like I'm suppose to, and see that wasn't a good idea            Tevye you brought back so many memories when you mentioned Escanaba 

No Rose, hope your headache is better. Take the xanax like you are supposed to and maybe the headaches will get better. I think you are having stress headaches and the xanax will take the edge off. Please take care of yourself.

Escanaba? I can't even pronounce that or the name of that bridge Tevye went over. 

Yes, I'm going to do that, but really feel crappy today, the headache is a little better, but can just feel an infection or something going on. Go to the doctor on Wed.

Isn't Escanaba pretty? the downtown part, I mean. No parking meters, lots of stores that us normal people can shop in, they even have a St Vincent DePaul downtown! We went there on our first lunch hour and bought souveniers for the office staff at home! Nothing says lovin' like a used t shirt from a thrift shop!

Magic!

I drove over the Mackinac Bridge once and I thought it was fun.  I was going to the casino at Sault Ste. Marie.  Bad casino.  Really bad food. OK, Wasn't as much fun driving back to Mackinac City.  That island thing really smells bad with all the horse poop.  I got back on the ferry and stayed in Mackinac City. Whew!!!

This morning I had the barn and donks and all the dogs taken care of by 6AM and got my pot of coffee and went to the sunroom to get my second breath. It was very foggy this mornig but it was starting to lift when I saw my little herd of deer appearing out of the mist.It was just magical and so peaceful. A great start to the weekend.

  It is so smokey here today that the street lights are on.  I thought we were getting smoke from the over 200 fires in BC right now but find out on the news that the majority of this mornings smoke is coming from the peat moss fires is Russia. 

The air is really thick outside and it is making it hard to breath. I can not imagine how people with respiratory issues are coping right now. 

Hi Northern!  That sounds awful, how long do they burn the peat moss for?  I can imagine if it is thick that it is would be hard to breath.   

The fires is Russia are out of control and have been for a while and have gotten into the peat bogs.  I have no idea how long they will burn for as they are have not gotten them out yet.  I wish a picture could capture how thick the air is outside.  The sun is brownish orange and the street lights are all on. 

 

Come and stay with me, we have an oven a place for you to cook sleep.

LOL  It is still really smoky here.  Did not want to go out yesterday so decided to make 20 lbs of Italian sausage yesterday.  My neighbour asked if I wanted to smoke any of them in his smoker.  I told him all I needed to do was hang them outside and they would get smoked. 

At this rate when Kevin his the freezer his bacon will already be smoked with no extra work

Yup.  Grind the meat. add the spices, and stuff it into casings.

Deenie, you are such a sweet monkey.  I love the videos you posted (esp the Butterfly Hollow)  If I were to ever be married again that is where I would go and I would want that beautiful piano music playing.

I am sorry that you were hurt by someone so badly but I am also happy you were able to see through him and stop what could have been a terrible mistake.  One thing for sure is we monkeys definitely would have had your back and still do!

it is a place I want to go, at one time in my life, regardless of a wedding, I would love to stay there for ME .. the enchantment that it offers is awe .

NoRose you know from what I have shared with you. I lost my first love, my fiance to death. This song is one that I think of  - and Butterfly Hollow makes me think of him ..a place I need to go to. Because of him.  This is one of my favorite songs that I do not share, but I will, because I want  JSM and all to appreciate what you have. What you find, what you are blessed with. Because it can go poof in an instant ..  I love my Sisters. You never know when the love of your life can be turned into a photograph.  ( he Joe and I fit this song like it was written for us, as it was in the beginning - the end has to be finished in heaven)   
Life needs to be embraced everyday - all the the stupid things that you complain about 
Think first and find them as what they are, a reminder of why you stay with him.  Because he ruffles your feathers, or makes you nuts .. take it for what its worth. Next time instead of getting all heated .. look at him, and hug him and kiss his face hard - and say I love You.

When I met Joe - he was this guy~ risk taker, always dedicated though to a fault/his job/his kids/me/my D, that Kid Rock sings of ~ and Yes that bad seed turned out to be my Angel ~  the love of my life. Actually I think we saved each other. Our love was real, from the boot straps/ core of heart.  3 yrs living together ... gone.

JSM - we were living together. He was off work earlier than I. I came home one night = unlocked the door ..walked up the stairs .. to find him vacuuming.. I came in without him hearing me.. I stood at the top of the stairs .. and tried to hide. I couldn't though. What did I see before me? UM, was a totally naked JOE wearing a red ribbon banner across his chest - with a huge BOW on his privates... the second he saw me .. he said OH babe..I ruined it.
I was laughing at this point ..thinking WHAT did you ruin ?  He then got on his bended knee and asked me to marry him, as he placed a ring on my finger.  It was a automatic YES .. no question.  Any man that can vacuum naked that is wrapped in red ribbons and asks me to marry him.. Yes is the only answer I could offer.  Now all is faded memories.

Hey everybody! had a wonderful time with the grand babies last night, thanks to all who mentioned it!

talking about burgers...we are getting a 5 Guys Burgers here on Tuesday..My hubs loves it and eats there when he is in Florida for business...he has been bragging about their food for so long that I can't wait to try it out! 
Hubs is watching the race on tv so I guess we might have left over chili tonight for dinner..that sounds good too...chili dogs last night, chili and hot rolls tonight...

hope that everyone who is not feeling well tonight will get to feeling better real soon!
