Spent the first 4 hours of my time on the computer today trying to make an avatar monkey with rabbit ears. Wink Then decided I needed input from the requester to go further.

I have finally caught up in this thread today and wanted to tell you why I wasn't able to be here when you all were, to join in the conversation.

I sure appreciate all the lovely things you all have said to me! You are all so kind.

I need to go catch up on Kyron's, Caylee's and Haleigh's threads now.

Whew! So much to read and so little time!

Good to be back.

Sorry I missed you last night Brandi!!! Glad you are back!!!!!!

Thanks, JSM!

I wanted to say something to you about keeping your cell hone in your bra, or anywhere close to your body.

Did a little research after you mentioned you had done that, and I think it is very unsafe.

People who wear their phone on their bodies, clipped to their pants or in a pants or shirt pocket, can be exposed to bursts of emissions caused by incoming calls or data transmissions.

At the heart of the issue are the levels of radio waves that mobile phones emit, also known as radio frequency or RF. These are stronger than an FM radio signal but just one-billionth the intensity of an X-ray, which are known on occasion to cause cancer.

These levels are recorded as a SAR level, which stands for Specific Absorption Rate, which is the maximum recorded rate at which your body absorbs radio waves per mass of body tissue (watts per kilogram).

Cell membranes in the body are electrically charged and the pulsed radio waves used by mobile (phones) make them vibrate, dislodging the calcium that binds the cells together. This makes them more permeable and releases enzymes that can damage the DNA in genes, including those that protect against cancer.

Nokia 1100 warns:"This product meets RF exposure guidelines . . . when positioned at least 1.5 cm (about 1 inch) away from the body . . . and should position the product at least 1.5 cm away from your body."Similarly, Motorola V195 GSM manual warns to keep the mobile device 2.5 cm from the body. And the BlackBerry 8300 manual warns to keep the device at least 0.98 from the body and "should not be worn or carried on the body. "But how many owners read their manuals? If the warnings were meant to be read, they should be on the device itself. And if these companies were truly concerned about safety, the device could be manufactured so it cannot be used closer than the "safe" limits.

iphones
:
'Don't have mobiles (cell phones) by your bed if you want a good night's sleep,' says Andrew Goldsworthy. 'The continuous pulse fires up the brain cells and can interfere with sleep.' iPhones are a particular risk, he warns, because they are on permanent standby, even when switched off.

They are deactivated and not receiving signals only when in flight mode on an airplane.

I took notes from a variety of articles last night and wanted to share the info with you. Don't want to come off as a lecture, but just wanted to present you with the info!

Good article here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1287842/As-scientists-warn-regular-mobile-use-CAN-cause-cancer-just-safe-mobile-phone.html#ixzz0xfknYaxD

Thanks Brandi for the information. Since I don't carry a purse when I walk Joe, I would just shove the phone in my bra, it was a perfect spot when I didn't have pockets. Won't do that anymore.

I seriously must be missing something, do people really eat possums and turkey testicles?

I know NRCG    Hubs grand mother was from Tennessee and she loved squirrel. Thank goodness we lived far away and I never had to try it.
I remember when I was real young and my grandma served my mom and me some meat and we ate it, after she told us it was deer, and I cried hysterically thinking I ate Bambi.  I don't experiment with food
No Rose, I can't eat venison either because I think I am eating Bambi too.

Same here.

I won't even eat lamb.

Baaa ... Baaa

  Me either Brandi.

I put the giblets in the dressing (ground and cooked first) but but......is that what the giblets are?
is that what a giblet is?

OMG I can't even imagine eating them.  Giblets are the heart and liver and kidneys of the bird.  I know a place in Montana that has bull testicles on their menu. The locals love them. DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!!
I am with you on that.  Thank you for the giblet info.  I thought that is what they were but then wondered if there were added extras I wasn't aware of

I'm glad you are staying Tolerance  an angelic monkey    Mission yes the headache is better and more tolerable this morning already from one antibiotic.
Glad the anitibiotic is helping and your headache is better.  an angelic monkey Hope you are having a good day No Rose, tell Buddy I said hi.
I will, hope Josef is feeling better with his darn stomach. Know how that is  and it isn't funny. Does Josef eat a special dog food for his stomach issues? Zoe had to be on one.
He was better this morning. He does eat special food and I think they didn't feed him his own food when I left him overnight on Monday. Could be what the problem was.
Poor Josef, that is what would happen if Zoe ate something she shouldn't have.  an angelic monkey            Brandi, thank-you for that info about phones and putting it in your bra  My younger daughter does that all the time  my older daughter doesn't, but she doesn't have much there to keep a phone in a bra  I'm going to tell her to stop doing that.
Happens if Josef eats anything other than his treats or special food. Plus it doesn't help when I walk him out back and people have thrown out bits of bread for the ducks and he gets to them before I can pull him away.

I was a vegetarian for years, and the sight of a big hunk of meat turns me off big time. I only eat meat in small pieces, like a small burger or in a taco.
I don't think I could ever be vegetarian I like meat!

Josef wants an extra snack with bread, dogs are so funny, like he needs to do that because he is so hungry  You would think bread wouldn't upset his stomach, but I guess you never know what upsets a stomach.          Mission, I'm glad to, because I've been worried that I've been eating turkey testicles and didn't know it

I don't remember the smell or taste, just that my mom and I got upset, and grandma never cooked it again. My grandma use to make boiled dinner  it looked like everything in the world was in it, and couldn't stand the smell of it.

What a cutie Tolerance.  How you doing today?
I am fine, Green Eyes, thank you!
Am glad to read that the fridge is repaired and NRCG has good medicine and is on the mend and the donks are cooling off.
so good news all around?!  (except for our children awaiting justice or recovery)

Ya know, I honestly debated not coming to SM anymore after yesterday.  I had a bit of a rough time after reading some of the sad and horrible experiences some Monkeys have had in their pasts. (Posts on the Kyron thread) They brought up some things for me that are better NOT brought up.  I was thinking these forums are maybe not for me.
Then I decided to concentrate on the wonderful things I have felt reading here and how welcome posters have made me feel.
and here I am.
Concentrating on the kindness and friendship.
Then I saw Brandi's welcome gate and that just put me over the top.

so .....YES, I am good this morning and I thank  you for caring..........all of you.
Pat

Yes it's hard to read how others have suffered and how the children are being taken, and disposed of with out a care. We all have taken a break from time to time because it gets to us. I have faith that justice will be served for all. Maybe not justice here on earth but they all will get what they deserve in the end. My mom always said what goes around comes around. I am glad you decided to stick around.
Me too Tolerance.  One thing about us we like to talk but also like to listen.  If you ever need an ear we have plenty to lend.  I hope your pains from the past will get better.  I'm glad you decided to stay too.  an angelic monkey

Out to water before the heat hits, and the Terminex guy is coming again this afternoon. I swear we live on a giant ant hill, and it is way past getting old
We have had alot of ants this year too, not sure why.  Take it easy in the heat.

You would think bread wouldn't upset his stomach, it used to not bother him when he was fat. Now it seems to go straight through him. I try not to walk him back there but he loves to sniff around and bark at the geese and ducks.
