OH my I messed up so ,many words had to self edit. Grand kids are in here talking a mile a minute asking a thoushand questions. And for some reason my screen is jumping all over the place tonight.

Just got back for the last of the shopping for back to school and party this weekend.  Back to dollar store, everything was still exactly where we ditched it earlier.  Then Walmart and lord help me but I survived that as well a few other short stops on the way home and I am beat.

Anyone remember being told not to be on the phone during a lightening storm?  I can attest this is a true statement first hand now.  Had one heck of a lightening show last week and I heard the air sizzle then a bang so loud that my ears were ringing for almost 2 days afterwards.  The lightening hit a telephone box on the corner, travelled down the lines and fried our router but good.  Just getting back online now. 

Hope everyone is well.  No way can I read back to catch up.

Good Morning!  I hope the weather cools down so life can cool down, too.  I swear this heat is making everything worse.  It's too darn hot.  I don't care how low you put the air on, you still have to go outside and burn until the car cools off, which takes absolutely forever.

JSM, he is your friend, he is coming to see you, he is not an exhibit at the zoo.  Enjoy him.

tomorrow my son and I are taking 3 of the grand daughters to the fair..He is a teacher so he has a few weeks left before school starts...will be a warm day at the fair! fun though...I am going to get an elephant ear..already planning that one..still haven't made that blackberry cobbler...may get to it tomorrow evening...

Riley denies bid for clemency

Gov. Bob Riley refused to grant clemency to inmate Michael Jeffrey Land, who is scheduled to be executed today.
Riley turned down Land's petition late Wednesday af­ternoon, a little more than 24 hours before Land is to die by injection at Holman Pris­on in Atmore.
Riley said in a statement that after his office reviewed Land's petition he saw "no reason to overturn the sen­tence imposed by the jury and the judge and upheld by the courts."
The 41-year-old Land ab­ducted and killed 30-year-old Candace Brown of Birming­ham in 1992. He was con­victed of breaking into her home, kidnapping Brown and fatally shooting her in the head. Brown's body was found by hikers in a lime­stone quarry on Birming­ham's Ruff-
ner Mountain. The jury voted 11-1 to recommend the death penalty.
Brown's 2-year-old son, Michael, was found by police alone in the home the day after his mother was ab­ducted.
Brown has not filed a last-minute court appeal and the clemency petition appeared to be his final chance to stop the execution.
In his statement, Riley said, "Mr. Land committed a calculated, cold-blooded, brutal murder that took the life of Candace Brown, an in­nocent mother of a 2-year-old son, almost 20 years ago."
Land is represented by the Federal Defenders of the Middle District of Alabama. A call to the federal defend­ers' office seeking comment was not immediately re­turned.
In a lengthy petition, the attorneys asked that Land's life be spared because he had improved his life in prison after a tough childhood marred by mental problems. Since he has been on death row, the petition said he has earned a GED diploma, cre­ated a laundry system for death row and served as "a runner" delivering mail, meals and running other er­rands.
Assistant Attorney Gener­al Clay Crenshaw asked Ri­ley in a letter to reject Land's plea "because of the horrible nature of his crime.

Way way behind. Hope everyone is having a great evening. I will try and catch up. I am sweating like a pig trying to get stuff done before my friend arrives.

RANT TIME: My family is starting to pizz me off with my friend coming to town. Telling me we need to do this and that. I told them you can meet him at my pool and we can cook hotdogs and hamburgers or at my competition on Sunday. Now my sister is asking, why can't we go to lunch on Friday, why don't we eat over at my mom's instead of at the pool, blah blah blah.  I've about had it seriously, I am nervous enough about him coming to see me, especially the skating so why do they think they have to make plans for us?

TBM   How is the cover wagon coming along?  Can't wait to see it finished.

Well, my hubby and I are disagreeing about the material to use - he thinks the duck cloth will be too heavy but I don't think sail cloth will hold up to Michigan winters. So, as of now nothing is done on it!
