I have never been AFRAID of a football game.  In 2002 Penn State fans threw broken bottles on our cheerleaders, urine balloons on our fans and my 64 yr old father had to be restrained from retaliating against punks that were pushing innocent Nebraska fans down steps.  And we lost the game for crying out loud!  I cannot imagine what will happen this weekend.  If you know anything about our fanbase - we wear our colors.  They call us the Sea of Red.  Fans are actually talking about being afraid to wear red on Saturday.  I'm not sure this game is safe.
Well...................................... it is really appalling that so many fans in Pennsylvania are known for such behavior. Eagles fans are notoriously known for "booing" Santa Claus at their NFL game and are famous for throwing batteries packed in snowballs at games as well. These stories are very commonly known in the Pro sports circles for just about ALL of their sport teams' fans.

I can't imagine that any half-talented high school football player will want anything to do with Penn State after this.  They'll be lucky if they can pull in football players off the lingerie league.

I know Wreck isn't going to say anything but OSU beat the crap outta TX Tech yesterday.  Ducks looking great also.  I just love their offense.

Kiwi - looks like we will be meeting in the dog house Saturday early, shaking hands and then head to battle.  Should be an interesting game as our teams have a lot in ''common''.  Good luck and here's to an injury free game.

Well were on the 40yd line 36th row Michigan side. My Neb friend says he's not wearing red but I may bring a few Neb caps. We will see how things go before I pull them out. Bean here's the keys you'll have to open without me. Both teams are 8-2 and are very capable of looking pretty bad next Saturday. I'm just happy to be at the first game.

Kiwi, congrats on the W.  No doubt you had fun as it was a real ass whoopin.  Our special teams was rated 9th in the nation and has never performed like they did today.  The O and D are young and we don't know what to expect out of them. lol.   Anyway... I'm at the dog house drinking and you are at the Big House celebrating a deserved win.  Congrats.  On to Iowa I guess.

Wreck... I'm sorry - it's been a tough week.  Sincere condolences on the lost of your basketball coaches.  How awful.  Re the Iowa State game... no crap out of me... we lost to Northwestern.    Its hard to sustain every game and it just wasn't your night.  Regroup and kick butt next game.  You still have lots of reasons to be proud.

BCS is in total chaos now.  Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

Thanks to Iowa St, Baylor, USC & NC State … The BCS is a Mess … OK St, Oregon, Oklahoma & Clemson Lose … THE SEC REINS SUPREME, LSU, ALABAMA & ARKANSAS should be 1,2,3

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2011/11/20/thanks-to-iowa-st-baylor-usc-nc-state-the-bcs-is-a-mess-ok-st-oregon-oklahoma-clemson-lose-the-sec-reins-supreme-lsu-alabama-arkansas-should-be-123/

The end result and what the BCS standing are projected to look like tonight with only a couple of BCS rankings left before the bowl games … there will be 3 SEC teams in the #1, #2 and #3 BCS rankings.

That is correct, every honest NCAA football fan knows that the SEC conference is the toughest one in football. This can explain why the SEC has won the last five BCS Championship games. Now comes the following unbelievable set of circumstances. Tonight the BCS ranking will most likely look as follows. Please note this is my educated projection, not the actual. However, there is little that could be different. How amazing and unheard of is it that this late in the BCS rankings that not only will one conference have the top 3 teams in the BCS, all of the teams come from the same SEC WEST division of the same conference.

1.LSU: 11-0
2.Alabama: 10-1
3.Arkansas: 10-1

It's been a strange year in CFB - only LSU (knock on wood so far) has consistently won.  Look at the Heisman race - same thing - no true leader this far into the season.

SEC will be 1, 2 and 3 in the polls I am sure.  They earned it too.  What is interesting however is that the winner of the division could actually not play in the NCG.  Hard to believe but it could happen.  The next few years will be interesting... headed over to read your link now.  Good to see you Red.  Happy Turkey Day.

Maye you have a Happy Thanksgiving to you as well ...

yes, the NCAA college football season has been bizarre to say the least. No real stand out teams except LSU. When presented with a game where they could have lost focus, they destroyed Ole Miss yesterday.

Added to all of the upset losses this week was Stanford's near loss to Cal.

Think about it, had Boise State just played like they normally do and make one kick, they might be #3 right now. Although, they represent an anomaly as well. TCU won the Mountain West yet it is BSU that will go to a BCS bowl.

I can't really see LSU losing to anyone at home. So I see them going to the SEC Championship game in the GA Dome against the Bulldogs. I can't imagine them losing that game either. So i see LSU in the BSC game. As for the other, I can only see Alabama. Who else can really be there, VA Tech if they win out?

I really am a firm believer that a team should have to have won their conference, either season, or championship game.

What a mess ... WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM.

I agree it will be LSU vs Bama in the dance.  Those two fan bases might kill each other in the meantime with smack talk.   Monkey Devil!

Agree that some form of a playoff is the only way to know who is the best team... but as we both know.. money stands in the way of that happening.  A shame.

Bean you were right that had to be the largest out of state group of fans for a Michigan game. It probably didn't hurt that there were 114,700 the second largest for the stadium. Also, the Neb fans were great before and after the game and participated in the activities. My friend had a great time except for the score. Will put a few pictures up later today.

Bean I posted about Garrett in the thread muffy started!  We play LSU friday and already the talking heads are saying even if we beat LSU we could be left out of the BCS go figure? Anyway, if that happens Bama,LSU and Ark will be 11-1 but bama would go to S.E.C. Championship game. It's a mess will just have to see what happens!

We are hearing that you most likely will go to the Cap One Bowl and that you might be playing the Cornhuskers.    I hope we go to a lesser bowl just so we don't have to play you.

LSU is something else... I was with family doing turkey day today so I missed alot of it but saw enough.  I agree Cuz - your team has done very well under BP.  Congrats.

Cuz, Did some more reading and I think it will be Michigan you play.  They are really coming on strong at the end of the season.  I am relieved we don't have to play either one of you!  Good luck.

Good luck to everyone whose teams are playing today... and those that are waiting for teams to win/lose so their team can secure the best bowl trips.

Wreck - take 'em down ok?
