As Christmas rolls around I have to just laugh and shake my head at this story ... Philly Eagle fans boo and throw snowballs at Santa.

I have to admit that the Bowls this far have been a bit underwhelming. I thought some of the games would have been better, sadly they were not.

Best games so far have been

Best performance has been Teddy Bridgewater (QB) of Louisville. I knew he was good, did not realize he was that good as he shredded the U's defense.
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=333620097

Other than the national championship game, looking forward to the following games:

* Chick-fil-A BOWL: Duke vs. Texas A&M - Should be interesting to see Johnny Football play and go out with a bang for that performance that launches his draft status.
* Any SEC - Big 10 match up
* Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Ohio St
* ALAMO BOWL: Texas vs. Oregon - Will be interested to see if Long Horns play inspired ball for an out-going Mack Brown
* Rose Bowl: Mich St vs. Stanford - Is a Big 10 defense top defense really that good when they have played such bad offenses in their league? A 4 v. 5 is a pretty good match up for the 100th Grand Daddy of em all.

How about the rest of ya?

I am a little biased, but one of the better match-ups will be Oklahoma State and Missouri in the Cotton Bowl!

Forgot about the Cotton Bowl, but I would agree that should be a good game. Both teams have the potential to beat anyone in the country.

Might be a shoot out in Texas.

I am looking forward to Stanford vs Michigan State

Enjoyed watching Oregon vs Tx tonight.. Go Ducks!!!  Nice win.  Congrats Klaas

I had 2 tickets, air, hotel for our game and turned them down!  Yep I had enough of Bo for one year... just weary from it all.  Still love my team - just worn out.  Gave my trip to my brother who lives in S Florida so he heads there tomorrow and should have a great time.

Happy New Year everybody!!!!

Oh and Go Big Red!

It's pretty amazing that a program the caliber of Texas could not get at least an "average" QB since they had Vince Young. That was Mac's primary dysfunction. He refused to offer Manziel a scholarship (even though Johnny Football yearned to be a Longhorn)!

Well -- I should have said they have not had a decent QB since Colt McCoy ................. but, I stand by the general statement that Texas should NEVER go 4-5 years without a top-notch QB. They have the choice of any QB in the state each and every year!

That's a great line!  Didn't think we had a chance in HExx of winning that game.  Happy for the team.  They needed it, heck we all needed it. Smile

I'm sort of surprised about this but.... I spent some time reading on their board after the 'controversy' and the board I read had an almost 'cultish' like atmosphere - kind of scary the way they idolized Joe Pa.  Blind faith stuff.  Can't articulate it really but it freaked me out what they were saying and I can totally see how it would be impossible to work there.  I think BOB did a fantastic job during his tenure at Penn State and I am sorry to see him leave as I think he was a great role model and a refreshing change for them.  Too bad it didn't work out.

Anyone watching the Bama vs OK game?  Holy cow OSU came to play!  They are balling out.  Leading at halftime.  I know my entire state is cheering for them! Smile

I'll tell you that Henry kid on Bama is amazing.  That guy is going to have a great future in the NFL if he can stay healthy.  I was surprised Bama lost.

Hey Wreck sorry about the OK St loss last nite to Missouri but that was probably one of the top 5 games I have watched all Bowl season.

TOP 5, not in any order:

Mich St - Stanford (Rose Bowl)
Clemson - Ohio St. (Orange Bowl)
Ok St. - Missouri (Cotton Bowl)
UCF - Baylor (Fiesta Bowl)
Texas A&M - Duke (Chick Fil A Bowl)

Tennessee Titans fire head coach Mike Munchak.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10242606/mike-munchak-fired-tennessee-titans

This is interesting seeing that all of Nashville, TN radio was reporting that he was staying. Oops. However, this team needs to clean house after yet another failed season. Also, the Titan front office best figure out they they better become a little more fan-friendly and market to the community. There are many other things to do in Nashville on a Sunday than watch bad football.

Quote
The Tennessee Titans fired coach Mike Munchak, the Hall of Fame offensive lineman who's been with the Oilers/Titans franchise for more than 30 years, on Saturday.

Munchak compiled a three-season mark of 22-26 and did not take the team to the playoffs, even after late owner Bud Adams signed off on free-agent contracts worth over $100 million in the spring.

Others to go:

Houston Texans fire DC Wade Phillips after they had previously fired head coach Gary Kubiak and hired new head coach, former Penn St Coach Bill O'Brian
Washington Redskins fire Mike Shanahan
Detroit Lions fire Jim Schwartz
Cleveland Browns fire Rob Chudzinski
Minnesota Vikings fire Leslie Frazier
Tampa Bay Bucs fire Greg Schiano and general manager Mark Dominik

Personally I think the Cleveland Browns firing of Chudzinski was BS after only one year. I mean really, how can anyone get any idea what one is capable of after 1 year? Anyone who takes this job with the Browns better just get a month to month rent on a home.

Also, I was a bit surprised that the Raiders did not fire their coach, they are usually good for a premature firing after a bad season. Also, I thought that Rex Ryan or the Jets and Jason Garrett of Cowboys should have been fired. Since when is a 500 record and not making the playoffs consistently rewarded?
