oh congrats to GO's Badgers too, that was a close one but they pulled it off

Yeah they were playing with out two starting wide receivers.  One had a concussion last week and the other might have had a season ending acl tear or something like that.. can't remember.  So it was a huge win.

WOW PDH... what a game!  Holy cow.  Congrats.  Brutal is right.  Big 12 officials would have called some head to head penalties on those injuries too.  Man what a game.

Congrats to everyone on the W's.  Some real head scratchers in the Big 12 huh Wreck?  Missouri almost lost so San Diego State.. I mean almost lost as in seconds.  TX A&M almost lost to ?Florida Intl (I think it was) same thing.. very end pulled it out.  Oklahoma vs Air Force - who saw that game?  Score made it look close???!!!

Yes, proud of the Huskers.  Very young team.  We have 5 or 6 starters out for all or most of season including both middle LBs.  Youngsters have stepped up and so yes we have some 'bonehead' mistakes as Bo would say but boy did the deliver on both sides of the ball today.  Hope some of you got to see Taylor Martinez our QB.  He is special.

Oh and they are saying between 30 and 35 THOUSAND Husker fans were at the game.  That stadium is just so gorgeous and it is a great venue... I was really regretting not going and remembering my trip there in 97 all day today.

Watching Tx vs TTech now.  Was really close but TX is ahead by 10 now. Good game so far.

My Xanax bottle was empty by the 3rd quarter and by the 4th quarter..... I resorted to

I may need to invest in a defibrillator for next week....

This is why being an Auburn fan is is not for sissies....

Congrats to cuz, beans and GO!!!

Iowa is getting beat right now. Ole Miss lost again...to Vandy. Oh My!!!

Jacksonville State University had to go to overtime to beat Georgia State University....in GSU's inaugural season with the wonderful Bill Curry as their head coach. He is certainly doing a great job with this new football team at GSU!

UAB beat Troy! Go Blazers!!!

cuz...big game next week!

Beth has the kind of courage and strength that comes from loving her daughter. She is Natalee's voice, and Urine heard it loud and clear again.

I wish she'd been able to peel that smarmy grin right off of his face. I'd like to help her.....

I saw UAB's win also PDH, son spoke with their head coach just a week ago, that program really is on build mode.

I think lots of Bill Curry as well, I think he will put that program on the map.

My next door neighbor passed away in his sleep this morning so it's been a tough day so far, helping to support his wife until their children arrive. I saw him late yesterday as I walked our pup and he liking football too, I told him to be sure to watch the AU game and his wife said he did and got very excited that they won. He was in failing health for years and in his late 70's but PDH, AU has a new angel watching over them. So does son.........sigh.

Yes, CRAZY games in the Big 12! Oklahoma and Air Force were close most of the game, then Oklahoma pulled away. Air Force then came back with 2 late touch downs.

The OSU - Tulsa game wasn't as close as the score (65-28)! We pulled our starters after the first series of the second half ( one play - an 81 yard TD pass). It was 58 - 7 midway thru the 3rd quarter. We played true and red-shirt freshmen the rest of the way!

Congrats on the tough win wreck....

I was really hoping Tubby could pull out a win for TxTech. He did give them a scare though.

So sorry about your neighbor nonesy. God Bless his family.

I'd love to have Nascar @ UAB! I keep hoping!

It's war in my neighborhood now!  It's on for sure! My next door neighbor is a young single guy, and he just erected this big Bama flag in his front yard. It's on it's own flagpole......

So now I have to go look for a BIGGER Auburn flag than the one he has. I will not be out-flagged nor out-tacky-displayed in my own neighborhood!::MonkeyLaugh::

I bet his dog doesn't do cheers like mine does......

oh short week for your team wreck, glad they won and no injuries?

pdh, thank you.

This is going to be an explosive interview in our parts tomorrow night - Dr Friday was president of UNC for many years and thought of as a true icon. I've met him a few times when I served on endowment board and he is that quality leadership we all hope for. In any event, the 'teasers' state how he's not been to a college football game in years, that he knows too much.........I'm unsure if this is going to be a slam against just agents but I hope it's a dissertation on far more than that. Hopefully they will post a video link tomorrow night I can share and not just a transcript. http://orange.mync.com/site/Orange/news/story/55362/get-answers-why-bill-friday-calls-college-football-manipulated/

It's half-time in the Peyton brother's game and Bob Costa is detailing how critical it is to change the attitudes and practices associated with concussion/cranial injuries in the NFL ! Geez I hope  he can start a revolution.........

They need an enterprising neurologist to create a better helmet, or change the rules for tackling. One of our smaller backs got his bell rung Saturday night, but he seems OK now. Plus we lost a defensive player for the rest of the year with a broken ankle. Clemson's QB1 has bruised ribs, and one of their guys has a leg injury too- possibly a broken bone judging by the treatment he received on the field. It was a very hard hitting game. In the NFL that's the way every game is played week after week. Bodies can't take that kind of punishment on a regular basis without some permanent damage. Running backs, receivers, and QB's are especially vulnerable to devastating injuries. Something can be done to protect them a little better.

UNC is in a heap of trouble right now nonesy, but this whole thing may get very ugly when all the facts are known about all of it. There's no telling where all this will lead...or to whom. If the agents feel that their backs are against the wall due to this...they may tell all they know about everybody.

I do have a link to Dr Friday's interview tonight, he was overall head of the university system, not just UNC. Shades of Beer & Circus but at this moment, he's the only former or current official I've heard willing to state the truth out in the open......

http://orange.mync.com/site/Orange/news/story/55362/get-answers-why-bill-friday-calls-college-football-manipulated/

He hasn't been to a university football game in 5 years........which coincides with the Saban hire at any cost.

This was sad to see, Kenny McKinley - Broncos and former SC/Spurrier WR, possible suicide: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iVHptSr08tE4Rvp6Q1Zdd5ifzotAD9IC1I101

Dr. Friday and I are on the same page! I have posted here that BIG MONEY and the media have ruined college football. If the university would pay the players a stipend like they do graduate students, then the temptation would not be so strong. Lots of these kids have virtually no money, and they can't work.
I also think excessive salaries for college coaches should stop too. The NCAA needs to clean house across the board, and stop letting the Pete Carroll type of coaches get away with this stuff for 10 years before doing anything. Either that, or stop being hypocritical, and just let agents give money to the players out in the open.
