Is BYU talking about a TV deal outside their area?

I hope the injury bug doesn't hit anyone else like it's hit Frijole and I!Sending prayers to the injured Huskers for a complete recovery! an angelic monkey

http://www.nebsports.com/2010/08/18/sean-fisher-out-with-a-broken-leg/

We lost 3 players for the season in less than a week.  Two to broken legs and one tore an ACL.  Luckily we are deep at each of those positions but you just ache for the kids.

OL kid was in his last year... he could get a medical year but he probably will move on as he graduated
LB kid was in best shape ever -
CB this kid tore his ACL 2 yrs ago and had an AWFUL rehab that took 1 1/2 yrs.  And he had another ACL tear.  Talented kid that was finally due to play some.  Like I said... you just feel so badly.

As you've probably read - Bo doesn't comment much on these things.  I did read that the two that broke legs were just freak accidents.  One with 3 minutes left in practice.

That said - we'll be fine.  Just hope its over.

I should have read the article first! So, they are actually joining the WAC in all other sports but football. If I were them, I would just join the WAC in football as well - but DEMAND they would be allowed to have their own TV network (like the Big 12 allows).
Monkey Devil! Monkey Devil! Monkey Devil! Monkey Devil!

I should have quit while I was still behind!! I was tired and had a few glasses of Pinot Noir.  I was TRYING to rationalize why the Pac - 10 and Big - 12 did not want BYU in.

This article with our game at BYU gives you some insight as to the TV for our game with them.If I'm correct,I believe the MWC controls this game not BYU.Although neither team is top tweny, one would think they could find a better channel then CBS's ugly cousin fester CBS college sports!Thank God I'll be there, cause the commentators for these 3rd tier slots SUCK!

"The game will be on CBS College Sports. Not CBS, but CBS College Sports, a network that is an offshoot of CBS."

I really want to thank San for keeping Peaches watching over this thread for all of us.  God bless our Peaches as well as her loving husband and daughter.

KTF, we had one game broadcast over that CBS College Sports and I agree, their commentators are awful.

Too much work and too little time to keep up with all the teams but will say I do think some very deserving teams are getting NCAA scrutiny due to their coaches !! Go get 'em !

I had to post this, it arrived from son on my cell phone at 5am this morning - he's doing well and enjoying his new coaching role but he has some real talent in his wr's but also some real "tude" to contend with. This photo is of "the hill" where punishment is meted out daily for those who can't do it right. If can see, that tiny white spot on the left is a big recruit who broke a team rule the day prior. Son's text with the message Good *&^% morning, do 20 on the hill"

That said I can tell he really cares about them too, he's hands on during practice, teaching them and as he says to be perfectionists? I wish him luck, won't be easy !

Thanks KTF and Frijole, I appreciate the support for son as he finds his way. I think he's in a trial by fire at times but as evidenced by all we see regarding players and behaviors in the media, I think it touches every program to some regard. So good to learn how to manage this sooner than later, right?

KTF - don't know what happened but Middleton did not come to Lincoln today.  Not coming.  They are saying paperwork couldn't be done in time... sounds weird to me.  I read something over the weekend that made me wonder if there wasn't a snag but I don't have a clue what it would have been... will keep you posted.

Lord let the season begin.  Reading the boards this time of year is pure insanity.

Thanks Frijole.Got a C- in a summer class and needed a C! I will NEVER understand having the ability to play college ball anywhere and you just can't get it right.Unfortunate for all parties involved. From the UW,to NU,and directly to Kavario...He needs to figure it out quick!

Oregon St. player dismissed after arrest

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- An Oregon State University offensive lineman has been dismissed from the team after police say they found him naked and intoxicated in a stranger's home and had to use stun guns to take him into custody.

Corvallis police say they received the call about a naked intruder early Sunday.

Responding officers ordered 19-year-old Tyler Patrick Thomas of Kalispell, Mont., to get on the ground, Lt. Tim Brewer said.

Thomas refused and instead dropped into a three-point stance like a football player and lunged at the officers, Brewer said. At that point, he said, two officers fired their stun guns.

Brewer said Thomas "absolutely was intoxicated" at the time.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Benton County jail and later released.

A home phone listing for Thomas couldn't be found.

Oregon State coach Mike Riley dismissed Thomas from the team Monday, OSU athletics spokesman Steve Fenk said. Thomas redshirted during the Beavers' 2009 season.
