G O  C A N E S     lol

Hi nonesy! We still share that mindset .I could tell by the look on his face that he was going to chew them for getting so far behind -- rather than congratulate them for pulling it out.

Great games everyone! Huge prayers for a fantastic and safe season for all players.

Hi Sharon - great to see you here !!!

Don't be ashamed of those Canes, I'll have to send you an email

Yes the look on Saban's face was exactly what I expected, he has zero tolerance for anything less than perfection. I also know what he sounds like in the locker room when he's not happy - it would blister the devil's ears.

I agree, we all need to pray for safe seasons for these players. Those with serious injuries don't have easy paths at all, son talked with Prothro recently about just that issue. God bless the boys who get injured so seriously particularly please.

i know i said yesterday, it is just a game....but dang, i could not post yesterday because i was so heartbroken and disappointed. tale of 2 halves....our offense and defense was awesome first half and alabama was the #1 team second half and we were unable to score. i feel so bad for mallett. he had a great game except for the 3 int.....we have an off week coming up, thank goodness then we play texas a&m at cowboy stadium the next week.
pd.....i loved your game!! congrats!
congrats to bean,go,kiwi and boc(that was a close call too)
love you guys!

Congrats on the win GO!!! Did your Badgers even break a sweat? I think even the janitor put on a Wisconsin uniform and got some playing time!

No doubt about it...Wisconsin is a great team.

sharon - great to see a 'Canes fan posting! What's new down there?

cuz....I felt that way many times over the last two years. It is so very hard to lose a game like that. Mallett was trying to make something happen, and it just didn't work out the way he thought it would. I really like that kid, and he'll go to next level and do well.

We play Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday. Our kids are a little banged up so I don't expect this one to be as hard hitting as the last 3 games have been.

I am joining in on the prayers for an injury free season. These are kids, after all. Some of them are barely 18.
none - I don't think I ever heard what happened with Prothro. I heard something about an injury, but I never heard any details. What happened to him? If you'd rather not post it here, I understand....

On to Week 5!
Time flies when you're having a breakdown every Saturday night..

I consulted with doctor today. He's decided that I can't watch my teams anymore. No Michigan, Arizona Cardinals and especially ASU. (maybe AU). I think we need a new thing for this year, The Unluckiest Team in America! and luckiest team!
My vote would be ASU for the top spot of unluckiest. If you like I can give the list of examples from the last few games, for your amusement.

Definitely AU...being an AU fan is as hard on your heart as loading up with bad cholesterol

I fast-forwarded to my golden years after Saturday night....

Kiwi - I didn't get to watch all of the ASU game Sat. night. What happened? Bad calls? Bad bounces? Injuries?

Here's another interesting WSJ article. They sure don't sugarcoat much...

beans and Kiwi - they mention your teams!

ASU - Wisconsin game besides missing the extra point to tie the game there was the 80 yard or so run to the one yard line as time expired at the half. Two ints in the endzone and one on the 3yd line.
ASU - Oregon more ints endzone while inside the 20yd line. Half of Oregon's points didn't come from the offense. ASU finished with almost 200 more yards total offense than Oregon.
All this is balanced by the Arizona Cardinals winning on a chip shot miss with 4 sec left against Oakland. Cards by one.

OK...here's a beautiful football story that will bring a smile to your face, and reduce the stress level of everyone. It's a very nice moment in an otherwise tough sport.

None!  Please share this with your son.  Remember when I told you about the CEO billionaire who is a Nebraska coaching intern?  Well there is a great article on him.  Remarkable story.  Enjoy

I think it's neat! It would so great to have the money/security to do what you love doing. What seems like hard work and long hours to us is what makes this guy happy and content. That should be ALL of our goals in life!

I agree Wreck.  Seriously I always said my absolute dream job would be sitting on the Game Day Crew.  Talking about the games, going to the games.  Now that the show has gone stale and Lee Corso has issues.... do I have a shot?

  Go get em Cowboy.

This is a big game for you guys.  I bet you spank them pretty good.  You have played well and haven't gotten much attention... win this one and people will start looking I'd bet.  Will be cheering you on.

We don't play til the next Thursday.  Its the beginning of our Big 12 "Farewell Tour".  No doubt fans of our opponents will be doubly 'kind' and the refs 'as fair as usual'.    Seriously.. it hasn't really sunk in that this is our last game against K State, then TX, etc.  Too bad I have to work.  Would be fun to hit them all for old time's sake.

Lee Corso is a tool. One of these days I will pull out a link to a radio interview he did here in Dallas with our local sports radio station. (It lead to loyal listeners holding signs in the background at "Gameday" saying "Lee Corso is a merkin"!!  Monkey Devil!

(look up the word "merkin"!)

We did move up to #24 in the coaches poll (#32 in AP). Should be an interesting game!

Side note: an old buddy of mine that I have known since I moved to Dallas has started to come to my "watering hole". He is a HUGE Nebraska  fan (from Aurora, Neb). His wife just recently died of cancer (so sad). There are also 2 other big NU fans there, and the passion you all have is truly fun!! All 3 of them are trying to go to Stillwater for our match-up! Also, I saw on our forum that Nebraska has rented out the highschool stadium in Stillwater on the Friday night before the game for a pep ralley! You guys do travel very well!!

Lee Corso is an old fool. He was a poor coach, and he's no better at being a sports broadcaster. He should retire and take Lou Holtz with him.
