Thanks all, yes it was sort of a brutal game.  I think our top running back was a bit ticked off that he only got to run 3 times today.  He was last years Big Ten offensive player of the year.  He has been out the past two games with an injury.  The third string running back has scored 8 TD's in the last two games.

LSU lost so that should move everyone up a bit.  We are about as high as we can go.  No more games left for the Big Ten except for Illinois playing a non conference.

We did shatter our all time scoring average for a single season.  And then Iowa loses to Minn???   surprise there.

I may have to watch OK tonight if we get the game.

GO I still recall when your program was desperate for a QB so enjoy this.

TCU nearly had a score as high as yours too ! Much has changed over the last two weeks in the BCS standings.

Congrats to cuz's hawgs for the great win !!  Congrats to TCU !

MSU is currently leading against Ole Miss but I'm pulling hard for Ole Miss to win !

UGA should handle Ga Tech easily and they really need a win for Richt is truly under fire.

Old visor head at SCarolina is leading over Clemson heading into the half and no surprise there, but so far that game is much closer than I thought it might be.

Bean, what's your bet on how far up your Huskers move in Monday's polls?

Not sure None.  Some of these teams that got beat now only have one loss so they'll land ahead of us.  If I had to guess I'd say two slots max.

Kiwi - like I said... beginning of the season Rivals guys were saying you could lose 7 games. LOL  Just get a new DC during the offseason and you should be in good shape.  Lots of reasons to feel good about this year.

You are most welcome kiwi and I feel sure next season will be better.

I'm a bit shocked to hear ESPN reporting that their sources are reporting in that Randy Shannon has been fired? I think that's disappointing, if true............?

Wow what a finish.  Wreck - you guys had a ton of injuries and never gave up the fight... and you almost pulled it off.  What a bizarre 4th quarter.

None - it does look like you heard right on Miami firing Shanahan.  Kind of sad.  Don't know any details but seemed like a nice guy.

Congrats to Oregon, it was an exciting game to watch until the 3rd Q when the Ducks slammed the door shut. I think what will be interesting if Auburn faces them in the NC, is how both teams are 4th Q specialists? I am guessing it could have the potential to be a nail biter to the end!

PDH - I think the good news is that even with all the public taunts and slights, your team held it together.

I do think this season will go down as one of the biggest drama-fests ever. It's wearing me out so I can only imagine what it's doing to these players.

Good luck today Cuz, I so hope you pull off the win today

See I like the slamming the door shut part, LOL.  For so many years the Oregon games have been nail biters it's nice to relax in the 4th quarter for a change.

sharon - I expect Shannon's phone was ringing with offers to be DC elsewhere before the night was over.

I think former player coaches are judged far harder as well.........

New standings are out, we may have a throw-down between PDH and Klaas over this week's

I can't say I agree with all of these, particularly Nebraska is too low and I think Michigan State is really higher than warranted - plus Bama fell to 15???? No way........

congrats Cuz, your hawgs are now #7

texasmom - rumor today is that TCU is joining the Big East ??? VTech will hear footsteps !!

They are neck and neck.  Auburn is ahead by like 3/1000 of a point.  Could be a great matchup!

Coaches dropping like flies.  We are hoping that our OC gets a head coaching job somewhere.   Monkey Devil!

I agree, it could be a great one!

you are too funny hoping your OC gets a job offer

Looks as if the songs played prior to the game targeted to shame Newton caused at least one head to roll

I haven't had time to read up much today, what other coaches are rumored to be at risk Bean?

cuz I am so glad to see you post and I'm sure Beth was comforted having you there over the holiday. Every holiday has to be a challenge for her without Natalee. I try to say a prayer for her and son as often as I can.

I'll send you an email tomorrow - an update on son's situation.

wreck - my son spent much of yesterday with one of your team's coaches ! Not kidding!
