Some good reads Wreck.I might as well keep it going. Here's a great article from the Oregonian on ticket prices for colleges around the country, and what it cost for BIG games. Most expensive ticket?Oklahoma St. VS Oklahoma.

Our Athletic Director (Mike Holder) is our former golf coach (12 National Championships) and a die-hard desciple of Boone Pickens. Much to the chagrin of many of our alums, he believes if we going to compete with the Oklahoma's and Texas' programs, we have to step up and pay the piper. He put his money where his mouth is and PERSONALLY donated $10 millon himself to his Alma Mater. Not only does he pick one game each year with a sky high ticket price -- he also doesn't sell single game tickets to these individual games -- you must buy season tickets! There are some OU alums that will buy our season tickets just to attend the "Bedlam" matchup! We have beautiful new facilities -- it is hard to bitch!

KTF - Thought you'd like this.  He was interviewed by a radio station here.  Link to audio.  Haven't figured out if related but we have a player named Lazzari Middleton and he's from Long Beach CA.

Audio: Kavario Middleton on his decision to attend Nebraska
-Sounds like a nice young man who is grateful for a second chance....

--Bo was no-nonsense with him and told him what would it take to play at Nebraska.....

--Walk-on to earn a scholarship in Jan. 2011 if he meets all of the requirements Bo put down for him.....he is okay with walking-on.....will be in Lincoln late this week...

--Talked to alot of schools...(I've read Miami & Tennessee among others were interested in him)....

--Excited and ready to play at Nebraska....

--He believes Nebraska will have a huge challenge against Washington in Seattle....said Coach Sark is changing the culture in Seattle....

--Did not bad mouth Washington at all....(that says a lot to me)

Thanks Frijole.Nice to see he's starting off on the right foot. It's all water under the bridge now and Kavario needs to keep his nose to the grindstone and he'll do BIG things in Lincoln and beyond.Maybe a phone call fru Suh might help as well! He's a class act!

It worked.Good interview! If he gets his head on straight and starts to block tenaciously,WATCH out for what this kid will do.VERY good hands and, you'll pretty much have a gauranteed 5-10 yards,or more, anytime you wanna go to Middleton. He'll add another dimension to the offense which will make the Huskers even more dangerous in the years to come.I'll be coming down to Lincoln Sept 17th 2011 for the game, so it'll be interesting to see how Kavario starts to shape up!Thanks for the link Frijole! an angelic monkey

I'm sure you've already probably read this Frijole!

http://www.omaha.com/article/20100817/BIGRED03/100819764

Here's an article where Kavarios high school coach backs the decision of Sarkisian. He also states that Sarkisian gave him every opportunity to succeed.Sometimes it's as simple as a change of scenery and I think all involved think it will be a life changer for Kavario!

Done deal: BYU to go independent in football

http://**/sltrib/cougars/50131959-88/byu-football-television-conference.html.csp

Was BYU scared of Boise St or,concerned with UTAH joining the PAC12?I think at this juncture it's not a very good move for BYU to go independent.I think it's a double edge sword. They say the're going to play 4 WAC teams which probably won't bring much of an audience, and they're going to have to schedule some BIG time programs potentially hurting their W/L record. It's an interesting dichotomy with the whole religion thing. Is a BIG time conference willing to bring them into the fold?Didn't seem like the Pac12 wanted them.Discuss!

Maybe BYU can hold hands with Notre Dame on the way down to Hasbeenville.

When the Pac 10 was looking to go to 15 it was real obvious that BYU was not a 'fit' just like TX A&M isn't.  They also are geographically challenged like NU was.  They aren't a fit for the Big 12 either and they are too far away from any other BCS conference.  And yes religion is a part of that difference.  I'm not sure going it alone makes sense but I guarantee you someone in the Mormon church crunched some numbers and figured out they'd make more money with their own network and thus the decision.  Plus they get out of the non BCS conference discussion PROVIDED THAT they schedule some games that are with ranked teams.

That said... BYU is not Notre Dame.

It all boils down to BYU's refusal to play ANY games on Sunday. Not such a big deal for football, but deal breaker for sports like baseball.

BYU also gets a NCAA waiver for athletes that go on "missions". Their athletes can go off on missions for 3 or more years and return not having lost eligibility. Many of their athletes can be 27 or more more years old!

I should have read the article first! So, they are actually joining the WAC in all other sports but football. If I were them, I would just join the WAC in football as well - but DEMAND they would be allowed to have their own TV network (like the Big 12 allows).

I still think that is the reason the power conferences don't want BYU. The WAC should be wetting themselves for BYU to join them. I think they would let BYU pretty much do as ever they please!

The MWC is starting to look somewhat good with the additions of Fresno St & Nevada.Along with Boise St.,me thinks BYU was gonna be facing a bit stiffer competition! Now that these two teams will be leaving the WAC.Who will BYU schedule from the WAC?

Just think what this is gonna do to all the other BYU sports.I would be pissed if I was an athlete in any other sport.Playing against WAC competition,or go to UTAH and play in the Pac10/12.Me thinks a lot of Mormons will seriously consider UTAH!
