None - thanks.  It was a tough game to loss.  Cannot figure out why we didn't take out our QB and play the backup - he would have been able to at least hold onto the lead!  We gave that game away.  Congrats to Oklahoma because they deserved to win.  sigh.

I gotta tell you I am not sure anyone can stop Cam Newton.  That kid is one special athlete.  Not saying the rest of the team isn't but boy he gives them something very very special.  Does he have a son?  Or a little brother about 3?  Saw a photo of him celebrating after the win with a young kid wearing his jersey and looked just like him.  Cute photo.

Don't know where KTF went but we are playing Washington AGAIN in the HOliday Bowl.  We play them in September again.  Strange.  Would have liked to play someone new.  Oh well..

Bean I was surprised Bo didn't change out your QB too, double sigh. I was pulling hard for you.

I have no idea if Cam has a younger brother, I read he has an older brother who was cut from the NFL this fall - could be he's married with a child? I did note the broadcast filmed his mother in the stands but no sign of his father. Ultimately it appears Cam will go to the NFL in the next draft, or a strong likelihood of that. I may be naive but I think the different styles of play between AU and Oregon will be interesting to watch.....

I think the bowl selections have been interesting........don't know where KTF has been but hopefully he will come back to post.

None... I think I now know why we didn't substitute... our backup is out for the season (knew that) but HIS backup who started the CU game was out due to a concussion!  So our only alternative was a walk on true freshman that hadn't taken a collegiate snap.  Ouch.

Bean under the circumstances his time will be helpful in future competition. Where is the Huskers bowl game?
Surprisingly, the Wolverines are headed for the Gator Bowl. Can't really figure out why they would be selected for that good of a bowl game. We play Miss St. This should be a shoot out with good weather. We should put up the list of bowl games for everyone that posts. Hmm I have three bowl games in Phoenix this year with the NC game between Oregon and Auburn. The Fiesta Bowl and I believe the Insight Bowl in Tempe. I'll look up as many as possible and post them.

The list for the Heisman Trophy is out. Side note Denard Robinson finished with more than  2000 yrds passing and more than 1500 yrds rushing but didn't make the list. Those numbers are higher than when Michael Vic,  won the Trophy. Now that I brought that up he will have 10 and 10 against Miss St.

Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Muschamp leaving TX to become the next FL coach.  Who would have predicted that one?  Whoa.  I gotta do some reading.  TX fans gotta be just sick.  Not what FL fans were expecting either.  He is a great coach though.

Meanwhile - congrats to Cam Newton on the Heisman.  What an athlete.

Bean, remember how much PDH posted about how talented she thought Muschamp is?

I'm glad that the Stoops rumor wasn't true. Hope it goes well for Muschamp.

Congrats to Cam on the Heisman, I enjoyed hearing more from the other candidates too.

Yes I remember and I watched him coach the last few years too.     Good coach.. but you gotta admit that THAT is one heck of a first time gig.  TX fans wanted Muschamp to be HC NOW and Mac fired... now they will be totally irate.  I am reading that Muschamp is bringing Major Applewhite to FL as his OC... if that happens something is dreadfully wrong at TX.  MA is a TX grad and hero.  Wow is all I can say right now.

Bean it appears the AD @ UF said Muschamp was their only candidate? Wow indeed. Son loved MA when he was at Bama but he left as Saban arrived to go back to TX. I thought MA would stay with TX too but I've also think former player/alumni/now HC's aren't judged harder? Sure looks that way at Miami and surely was at Bama.

Wreck... I'm behind and just read about the WVU hire of your OC and find this very surprising as it seems like your O is a much better fit.. lord.  Do you have any insight into what went on?

I'm still wondering if Muschamp to FL was their best hire.

Sure do miss having conversations... please don't let one bad day effect 5 yrs of football chat.  This is directed to everyone.  Miss you guys.  Bowl season coming up.

Have a great day all.

Stewart at WVU is being "forced out" -- but, he won't go. They name Holgerson as OC and "Head Coach in Waiting" to take over next year when Stewart's contract runs out. Holgerson could have gone as HC just about anywhere - and he ends up in the WVU mess! Strange! He turned down the HC position at Pitt.

Thanks Wreck... his style just doesn't fit with WVA at all.  Course as HC he can change all that but seems like a strange marriage.  And I really pity him having to work for a guy who he is replacing.  Talk about awkward.  Is that AD on drugs?  Strange.

So will TX ever announce any hires?  I'd be nervous.  Now OKState will be pursuing OCs as well.

I read that Muschamp won't have 100% say in his staff... since former HC is there in an admin role... he will be there as 'an advisor'.  That would suck too.  Oh well for a couple million I could put up with some grief.  Monkey Devil!

cuz I think Petrino realizes he's in a good place and with the success they had this season, he's positioned well

There is an interesting backstory to the Stewart replacement story at WVU. It appears Stewart was at a speaking engagement, the AD called in his OC and fired him, then called in Stewart after to relate the new 'deal'. Some are saying that Holgerson will bolt for another HC position in a year if he's offered a better one - so should be interesting to watch.......

Bean, I wouldn't want the deal Muschamp signed up for, he really isn't going to have the control he needs to revamp the Gators. Smacks of being careful what you wish for.

Thanks None, I did not know all the details. That is a real tacky way of letting people go... real tacky.  And I still don't think he's a good cultural fit for that program.  So he sure could land another hc gig before all is done.

Wreck who you guys looking to replace him?  You guys have a great shot at a title next year with your QB and Blackmon returning.  I assume the D will continue to improve of course.

Stewart was already aware they were going to replace him -- (several weeks ago).

Big questionmark on our new OC. Some rumors (of which I highly doubt) have Leach coming for one year!
