Well there were lots of cobwebs inside Kiwi's Dog House, but were open for business for another season of college football! Hey, even ASU has a game tonight. Congrads to GO's Badgers. So each SM big screen TV is working fine. Wow no food for tonight's games sorry!
Thanks for opening the Dog House, I'll bring some sweets for tomorrow ! If I could remember my log-in for my photobucket I'd post photos
Now if PDH would come back and cuz would drop in, we'd be set !

Bean we beat the Aggies last nite. ASU had a Thursday nite game. So were sharing the National Championship with who ever won last nite!!!!!!!!
Were 1-0 yes! That was UC Davis Aggies not Texas A&M Aggies.
One of son's best friends is the offensive GA there and his dad is the OC for ASU !
I saw they were both twittering about the games this week too (son & son)
I did not see your game on the gametracker at ESPN last night, why is that??? Maybe I'm going blind now?

Arizona State played last night? Why? It wasn't on TV was it? I thought that was the only reason to play mid week.
I am so confused.... hahaha

Sorry that wasn't clear enough. If the season was just Thursday night then ASU would be tied for the National Championship with just a few teams! Making it to a bowl game would be a major achievement for ASU this year.

Got it! I didn't know they played so it went over my dense head.
You watching Baylor beat up on TCU? They look great. I'm rooting 'em on.

The TCU vs Baylor game was so much fun I stayed up til the end. lol Baylor pulled off a huge win for their school. TCU can be proud of the come back they managed after being 20+ pts behind. Great great game to watch. Here's to some more fun today.
Raining here. Getting ready to make some wings. Yum yum

what's up with all the cakewalk season openers for top teams? Makes for some boring football! Can't say I've really enjoyed much football today. Son's new team was manhandled too but played an SEC team so no surprise, just painful.

Michigan had an odd game ended a few minutes into the 3rd due to a second lightning delay. Too bad we were on the 10 about to score. Defense looked a lot better. Shouldn't be 110th this year. Denard looks a lot safer in the pro style offense plus the NFL should like that he will need less conversion to that type of play. Game stopped at 34 to 10, against Western Michigan.

Kiwi... I think I heard your D actually scored 2 TDs today. That is much improved! Congrats.
We won and after a rocky start took control of the game... we have a long way to go.
None - cupcakes make a TON of money that helps fund their programs by coming into big games so while they might get beat up - there is a gain. lol. Ironically the one thing I noticed today is that a very large number of cupcakes upset or played very close today... it was downright scary looking at the scoreboards. If my memory was better I'd post them all but... it was a real strange day.. lots of slow starts.
Going watch more of the Ducks vs LSU game... a good one so far. Both teams playing like they've played 10 games this season. Fun to watch. Les Miles is soooo bizarre and entertaining. I love the Ducks offense.

The Rice band is great!!! One year they played at A&M when their mascot collie had recently died.................................... the band played "Oh where oh where has my little dog gone". They really push the limit ....... but, I think it really fun for college football.

Too cool. I love that. So how did everyone's teams fair?
Wreck - win
Kiwi - win
GO - win
KTF - win
Klaas - sorry.... but the team looked like they'll have a good season once the errors are cleaned up. Tough tough first game. We would have lost if we'd have played either one of those teams.
Muffy and None - Who you cheering for?
Anyone lurking feel free to join the fray... we've been at this for I think 6 yrs now.

I've been hesitant to get into the sports area, since I'm not all that hardcore, but I do have my favorites and I root for them win or lose.
Frijole, I can post the link back to this thread in a couple of places if you like. We have a lot of new monkeys and some don't realize there are other places besides the threads they usually post in.

Bean, I know the cupcakes make $$$$ but I think the risks of injury and even fan perception is so high now, that I'm not sure programs really benefit over the long haul. For example, App State's game against Va Tech was such a blister with quite a few injuries to ASU's starters PLUS when they are trying to upgrade to a better conference a loss like that cannot possibly help in that effort.
The UGA game and loss will probably cost Richt confidence in his capabilities at a very critical time too. Just have to wonder what they are thinking........
I bet Spurrier was madder than a wet hen to have to play Garcia last night and without Garcia I seriously doubt they would have won, period.
I agree that many games were closer than usual, I just think it's a bit ridiculous to see some big names or top 25 teams dancing over wins against the cupcakes. Alabama is one example........pretty silly to be so excited about trouncing Kent State?
I think the Notre Dame game's stands were completely deserted due to the storms & delay, but it was a big moment for Holtz to have won that one since ND was his #1 choice for his next HC position and they didn't choose him.
