Reward: Elderly man severely beaten in home invasion
August 13, 2010

FLORESVILLE, Texas -- Police in Floresville need your help to track down a man and woman wanted in connection with a home invasion.

Investigators say 37-year-old Raquel Alfaro Rivas and 52-year-old Jesse Barrientes Aranda severely beat and robbed an elderly man Tuesday night.

Police tell News 4 WOAI Aranda was convicted of robbing and killing an elderly person in the 80's and he recently got out of prison.  We've also learned he has gang ties.  Neighbors and family members say Rivas had cleaned the victim's home before.

Police believe the two forced their way into the victim's home and beat his head so seriously, he was taken to the hospital.  The pair took several things from the home.

Family members say the man, who we're not identifying for his safety, now fears for his life.  We're told he's out of the hospital and is with family members.

There may be others involved with the crime, but police have only identified two suspects.  Rivas and Aranda are considered dangerous and may be armed. Investigators believe they are in the San Antonio area.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Raquel Alfaro Rivas and Jesse Barrientes Aranda, please immediately call Wilson County Crime Stoppers for a cash reward, at 830-393-4636 (830-393-INFO), or CLICK HERE to submit a tip online.
