Lead attorney Jose Baez said 13 law enforcement officers who were on the "outer edges of the investigation" were deposed Friday morning. The officers refused to answer questions as they were leaving the state attorney's office.

According to Baez, the state attorney has a rule that any law enforcement officer involved with a case in any manner is listed as a "category A" witness, meaning he or she has material evidence that is likely to be used in trial, so the defense has to depose them.

"We really don't know what they have to testify to, so we're just going to eliminate the important ones, take them and (depose) them for another day," Baez said Friday morning. "And those who really had no participation in our case, we're going to eliminate today."

Over Thursday and Friday, Anthony's defense team will depose about 35 law enforcement officers.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in a wooded area in east Orange County in December 2008.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled to begin in May.

It links to Cindy or George. There were only 3 people in that house the night of the fight.  If KC took Caylee then it is KC........if she left Caylee then it might be George killed her the as he did tell all those lies about seeing them that next morning.............or Cindy could have thrown something in one of her fits of anger and killed Caylee after KC left as they did take the sheetrock off the walls (blood splatter) and the rugs. 

The one BOZO would have the best shot at trying to convict would be George and that may be his defense since they are setting up the molestation story.  KC could say she left that night angry did not come back, George molested Caylee the next morning after Cindy left and in the process killed her (it happens) and then put Caylee in KC's car because he had the only other key( picked up car with it)

Casey Anthony Murder Trial: Defense Files Yet Another Objection To The Sunshine Laws

Apparently nothing Judge Perry says sinks in to the defense. They just keep doing what their doing, they are going to be scrambling come May.   

BOZO is not smart enough to understand the judge's ruling.
Tell me again that affirmative action works................not in the real world.

I think what he says is in coordination with Bozo's plans. Seems like defense knows a guilty verdict is in the bag, and everything from now on will be spun towards the mitigating phase.

I think that is what all the motions are about.............they have been working toward the mitigating phase since Lyons was on the case............they know she had NO defense. That is what they have told Cindy & George to go on TV and tell all the lies about so when they get to the sentencing phase they can get LWOP.

I honestly believe that Cindy wants KC in jail for the rest of her life...........she has done everything to keep her there but what she is has not counted on is her own indictments on fraud.

Anthony Defense To Take 35 Depositions
Defense Says It Will Do More Extensive Depositions Later

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense team will have a busy day Friday; they are taking depositions from 35 law enforcement officials in one day.

Eighteen of the depositions are scheduled to take place in three hours, with the rest scheduled for after lunch.

The defense team said it plans to quickly assess how important each witness is to the state's case and then go back and do more extensive depositions at another time.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in a wooded area in east Orange County in Dec. 2008.

Anthony's trial is scheduled to begin in May.

This is nothing more than Baez way of dodging the deadline imposed by Judge Perry.  He will depose some Police Officers whose evidence is of minor importance today,that satisfies the court's requirement that he start doing them within the timeline, but then he will do the others when he feels like it, which is what he planned all along.. 

Lazy~~ he totaly does as he wishs he is not intimidated by the udge he thinks he can get out of anything.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- There’s a new controversy over the latest witness list submitted by Casey Anthony’s defense attorneys.

The list names David Evans as a possible witness. Evans is the attorney for former meter reader Roy Kronk, and could be disqualified from representing Kronk if he is asked to take the stand.

Evans said on Friday he has no information that would help the defense. He said he would take the issue to Judge Belvin Perry, if attorneys wouldn’t remove his name from the list.

“I'm not going to permit myself to be dismissed as Mr. Kronk's counsel without a fight over it,” Evans said.

George and Cindy Anthony’s former attorney, Brad Conway, withdrew from representing the parents of Casey Anthony because there was a chance he was going to end up as a witness in the fight over records from Texas Equusearch.

Evans said he has every intention of staying with Kronk.

It's becoming ovious that gerlado is  assisting his friend Jose to taint the jury pool the hispanics most likely  in the miami viewing areas. I somehow dont think gerlado has a big    amount  of spanish speaking viewers that care for him. I dont like him never have his arrogance and shady dealings turned me and anyone I know in my area that are hispanic. its clear what their intent is and it just pisses me off that geraldo could do such a thing just because he is hispanic.

A monster task,” WOFL-Ch. 35 anchor Cale Ramaker called it.

The defense team in the Casey Anthony case deposed several dozen people today.

“The defense says that today every person they deposed worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and their mission was to weed through who’s going to be important in this case and who’s not,” WOFL’s Holly Bristow said.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Bristow talked to a robbery detective who said he was questioned for five minutes. Defense attorney Jose Baez told Bristow that he doesn’t think anyone questioned today will be called that the trial, but the defense had to depose them because prosecutors listed them as Category A witnesses.

WFTV-Ch. 9’s Kathi Belich focused on how much time was spent on today’s depositions — and she found Baez’s methods wanting. “The 35 law enforcement officers had no choice,” she said. “They had to come here. They were subpoenaed, but many of them sat around and the clock just ticked away for hours, and they had no idea when they were going to be called, and most of them were on duty and said they had work that they should have been doing today.”   

In an unusual touch, Belich held a watch to illustrate her point about wasted time and moved the minute hand, which stopped on her. She asked Baez “why he tied up so many officers for hours in one day when he had two years to do this.”

Baez called it the “fastest and most efficient way” to deal with the issues.
But WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer questioned Baez’s approach and said the depositions could have been scheduled at 10-minute intervals. “You don’t want to pull them all off the street, tie their time up when they should be out there protecting and serving,” Sheaffer said. 

In other Anthony news, Roy Kronk’s attorney wants off the defense witness list, WESH-Ch. 2 reported tonight. The defense team says Kronk attorney David Evans “has potentially discoverable evidence not covered by the attorney-client privilege,” anchor Martha Sugalski said.

Evans told WESH’s Bob Kealing that he has nothing to give the defense. If the defense won’t remove him from its witness list, Evans said he will go to Judge Belvin Perry and fight to remain Kronk’s lawyer.

“I’m not going to permit myself to be disqualified as Mr. Kronk’s counsel without a fight over it,” Evans told Bob Kealing.

Kronk was a meter reader when he found Caylee Anthony’s remains in December 2008.
