This is in response to that other post that was about not wanting to watch the news because it's so depressing;

I am a survivor of quite a few things, having said that; in my own journey to heal myself and lead a mentally healthy life I have done a TON of personal research on the subject of personal injury, child molestations and crimes against children.  Mostly in an effort I suppose to try to UNDERSTAND it and hopefully in understanding it, I could get my mind to go past the various things that have happened to me.

After years of research what I have learned is that crimes against children, (horrific) crimes against children have gone on since the dawn of mankind.  These things have been happening long before you and I were ever even a consideration on the planet.  As long as there are weak and helpless among us, the evil and depraved WILL pray on them.  They watch and wait and in that second that we have our backs turned they strike.  I consider this to be a part of the human condition.

BUT,  The one thing that I have noticed a change in is the child pornography.  This is very much like wiping yourself with a hula hoop it never has an end.  I don't know if the internet made this worse or if because of the internet we are just hearing more about it.  I don't think it's any worse than it ever was it's just that thankfully society demands these people be arrested so they are being caught and those arrests attract media attention and as a result we then think society is going down the drain.

Again I would just like to reinforce that at least these people are being CAUGHT.

As a side note, I would watch anyone that wanted to have a lot of personal contact with vulnerable children overseas from countries that don't have the child abuse laws that the United States has.

Okay something has been driving me crazy and I need someone to help me clarify if I dreamed this up or not... On the morning of the 4th wasn't it reported that attendance or roll call was done twice? Once at 8:45 when the children assembled in their classrooms to be put into groups to tour the Science Fair and then roll call done again at 10:00 when they reassembled in classroom coming back from touring and to begin the "regular" school day? Please tell me I am not crazy and dreamed this... I usually very much stay just a "lurker" but for two days this has been on my mind and I cannot find where this was reported ANYWHERE!!! Thanx to anyone who'll take the time to set this crazy woman straight!!

Hi Justamoma, I believe your response was directed to my earlier post.  I believe that yes, crimes against children have occurred since way back.  I just believe that it is occurring more due to our environment, ie..drugs, money, unemployment, etc. In regards to child pornography I have no doubt that the internet made it worse.  I am glad that these people are getting caught but so many continue to get out and re-offend.  IMO if a child is hurt intentionally, physically or sexually, throw the perpetrator in jail and throw away the key.  I'm tired of the excuses.

I think plenty is happening behind the scenes that we don't know about.  The Grand Jury being in session is definitely something going on.  It was supposed to be going until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I understand your frustration and I feel it myself.  If there was a way to find that sweet boy and punish those responsible, and the only way they felt sure of it was to keep it close to the vest, I say keep it secret, just get it done!
