I am ebarrassed to admit I have not followed much local news lately...........I will check RRS webpage and try to read up on it.  Remember that old newspaper "Rockford Labor News"? Wonder if that is around anymore, they always had the 'dirt' side of any story.............I will get back to you.

Thank you.  They extubated him this morning  and plan to move him to a step down unit tomorrow if all goes well.  Then the chest tubes will come out.
Poor guy, I can't stand to think about him suffering.
I just continue to pray and wait.

Josef is still having belly problems, vet is giving him more meds and thinks it wasn't the food I gave him last night, she thinks it was the stress catching up from the attack. She said it usually takes 3 to 5 days and last night was the 4th day. Plus it doesn't help that he has irritable bowel. He has since May lost 4 pounds. I am beginning to worry a lot now. 

when peanut got a tummy virus she had bloody diahrea and was throwing up, the vet had me get kaopectate, its for humans but ok for animals also, it looks like pepto, but tastes like chit! it is made with clay, and supposed to stop the runns, it worked wonders. i have even tried it when i had the flu and it worked great. i just used one of those seringe type things with out the needle and opened her mouth and "shot it" down her throat. but it really helped

They are giving him more medicine to put on his food along with the metranidazole he is already on. If this doesn't work I will try anything. Thanks Scarey

Can someone explain what all is going on at Ky's thread?  Is there like a whole other layer of communication that I am unaware of? I read every single post on there and it seems like I am completely out of the loop????
I know there are no PMs here and that mods do not delete posts so I am so completely amazed that I don't 'get' the whole conversation?

Guess I may be dense................even if it turns out that this web sluething is not for me.............I have found this forum and I love it............so waiting to be allowed to join and struggling to figure things out has been MORE than worth it.

Before I finally got accepted on this site I read and tried to participate at IS...............that experience was not so good.

Anyway, I am off to read the local news and get back to Cookie.

I don't read at Kyrons because I have no clue what is going on over there. I think you are not the only one very confused, so don't say you are dense. Never have been at IS, heard it isn't nice.

Give us the dirt on the local news if you find it.

Cookie, I found the RRS article.
I, of course, know of the quarry and the name....I see they arrested a guy (60!!!! rediculous) but that is all I see and I have heard no rumors.........
I worked for Textron and used to hear lots of scuttlebutt, but not so much now.

Good morning, everyone!!!
JSM, PJ was a rescue
He had giardia and a host of other problems
after working and working and trial and error (we are only human and want the best for our pets) I found the one single thing that has made his life worth living.
Don't laugh:
Shredded Wheat.
Not the little bite size
the real stuff..........it looks like a pillow sorta
I crunch it up and dampen it a just a bit w/ some water
I put it with his food and he eats it up.
It stopped the giardia bloody explosive stools (in conjunction w/ the antibiotics that tried to kill him) and now it keeps him very regular and comfortable.
I wish I could keep him while you work.
I have a fenced in back  yard and time to love him....................
I am so sorry you are dealing w/ this.
I can't imagine having to deal with that mess and then go to work.
I am so sorry.
anyway, it may be worth a shot??????
Like NRCG says.................one day something works and then not the next and I know each being is different..........
this tip came from a vet tech who whispered it to me after the vet went out of the room
Due to PJ's giardia his anal glands wouldn't ever express on their own.  I had to take him in every few weeks to have them expressed from the inside out.........................(sorry tmi)
but that has resolved as well w/ the Shredded Wheat.

Tolerance you are not dense.  Trust me it is a whole different world on that thread for some reason.  I have never experienced such oddness since I joined here.  It isn't you - I feel the same way.

   I don't think I am going to have to bring work home this weekend. I got an extention to my credentialing deadline. WOO HOO!!! Because I really need to be able to take care of Josef this weekened.

You just do what the vet tells you, and you use your own instincts.

There was just some issues in Harry Oakes thread, but Klaas has now shut it down. I sure read your posts at IS, you are a very sweet person, and honestly it is hard over there, there are some nasty people. But there are also some very good posters. That is good that PJ loves shredded wheat, that has been around forever, isn't very tasty, but I'm glad it helps his tummy

I like to stick to certain products that work, over the years I have spent a lot of money on cleaning products. Word of mouth is good and I will certainly purchase this product.
