I am so glad I don't have children in public school right now.

Just amazing what the schools are requiring for school supplies these days. I have seen local lists that require among many other things, 20 (twenty) glue sticks, multiple packages of crayons/markers, and get this ...toilet paper!

Some of these lists total to well over a couple hundred dollars, and I am talking about elementarty school classes.

I feel so sorry for those families that simply cannot afford these supplies for their kids.

I saw one editorial about these lists, and one student got a 0 for the day because they were lacking one article on the list!

Insane. Cruel and just plain wrong.

*sigh*

Our school system failed last year for the 2nd year in a row.  The only middle school to pass the CRCT was the theme "parent participation school" and they closed that school this year.  *sigh* I am scared for my kids.
Wow, and many states are lacking funds so bad, CA is high on the list, very scary

::MonkeyShocked::OMG,If I hear one more word about bows I am gonna take my laptop and hit my husband in the face.
He found a bow.I told him to order it locally,he said he couldn't.I told him yes you can.He said I talk too much.Well,I can take care of that.
Now the dumb ** just called the local hunting store and guess what? They said sure they could probably get it for him......
I let you know how it goes...when I start speaking to him again.
I need a cold beer.
Sounds like our house.  I swear some days...................

Thank you for letting me rant.  Off to go meet the school bus and then I am making some peach cobbler to calm down.  Got some wonderful BC peaches today from a roadside stand.
Peach cobbler sounds great

I just ate some peach cobbler a few minutes ago.  I feel really guilty.  I am been trying to get these 20 lbs off for 4 years now.
I hear you, but when a peach cobbler or other goodies are around it is hard to say no.

I was so happy when they started the theme schools in the area.  We have to volunteer 20 hours a year at the school.  That means parents are at the school contantly.  The kids did really good last year on the CRCT (100% passing rate).

I hate they closed the middle school.

My neighbor is sending her son to private school and is paying over $600 a month.  I can not afford to do this.

It's awful these days. Texas is bad too. Last year daughter got everything on the list thought it was just going to grandsons. No when he took it to school the teacher took every thing and put it in her supply closet. It was from paper, pencils and had soap, napkins, tissue etc. This year wasn't as bad. We can't pick the kids up from school with out a speciall card the schools gives us. It has to be on your window of the car. Without it no kid

Why is it that weight on your hips/thighs is the hardest to get rid of?  I keep holding on to my size 6's in my closet (since before my first pregnancy).

Wow, things sure have changed big time, like a big closet for all the kids and teachers. We didn't have that when the kids went to school. The card on the window is a good idea.
