Furby is back home

I can't believe how the other dogs were affected by her leaving..She spent the night on O2 and IVs and they changed her meds and she is so improved. Thanks all for your concern

I am so glad she is better, 4 donks!

Tell me something, where did that picture come from please?

I took it this winter because she was just enjoying herslf kicking up the snow.

This is the uncropped original, she is running in my footprints.

I am so happy she got to come home and is doing better.  I love the picture. She looks like she is having so much fun.

Wow, now that is quite a drop in temperatures, it must feel wonderful. To bad it can't stay that way, and can just imagine the humidity  I want to get it done, because in the garage when it is real hot out it is hard to stay in there long, without sweating real bad

It looked so familiar! I went through a bunch of stuff until I found this. A monkey (heykim was her nick) asked me to sparkle this one she took:

That was almost 2 years ago.

See the similarity? LOL

Yes I do ! Strange. Furbs was just enjoying herself..escaped out the door without her coat and was running FREE.

How do the donks tolerate the dogs, 4 donks?

From my reading, seems donks don't usually care to be around dogs.

Made me curious about yours. You having 4 donks and 4 dogs.

The donks tolerate the dogs if they are with me. The dogs know better than to go near the donks without me
The only dog they really like is Furby. I don't think they realize she's a dog.

heh

Wonder why they don't tend to get along, dogs and donks. Both pack animals.

I'd have thought they would get along, but I'd have been wrong. LOL

Think I'll google that issue. Makes me curious.

Donks are used for livestock guardians because coyotes and wild dogs are their natural enemies . The donks will chase them down and kill them.

Yeah. What I have gathered so far is that they are often used to guard cattle in pastures and see dogs as a threat there. Must be ingrained.

What does "stump" mean when used with a donk? Kick?

Probably "stomp" because they will stomp them . It's odd because the 3 big dogs are LGDs also. I have seen them chase a pack of dogs into the donks field and then lay there and let the donks get rid of them.

Too bad the donks and dogs do not realize they are on the same side. LOL

In my mind, I just see donks and dogs (who live together) as good pals.

I read that sometimes donks will get along with dogs if they were brought up together.

Interesting.

Both Otis and Lumpy were used to guard cattle so they only tolerate the dogs if they are with me.
Hobbs was raised by me (bottle baby) and does better with the dogs.

Well, so that's why Hobbs is such a brat! LOL

How sweet though. What a neat experience that must have been.

4 Donks  I forgot that I found an article in a magazine while I was at the doctors the other day. It mentioned a ranch here in Texas that had exotic animals in a special reserve. I got to thinking maybe your Vet might like the name to see if he could place some of the animals like the zebra and water buffalo. (( It isn't a hunting ranch)) It's called YO Ranch it's outside of Kerrville in Texas.  Just a thought.
Hope you are having a good evening.
