I do agree with Anna that Dutch News media broadcast false info on a Beth Arrest.

It was done on purpose. It is by design.

I am not sure why.. A bunch of Joran supporters ?

Aruba is a sick group.. They just want your money and your daughters..

You know, I'm sure there are those that will criticize Beth for doing this.  I guess they'd be more comfortable if she would just quietly accept her fate, put on a badge of powerlessness and just cry herself to sleep for the rest of her life.  How many untold victims do just exactly that?

I read the comments by the Flores family attorney (in one of the posted articles) about Beth being paid to take part in a dutch media soap opera, or something like that.  His words irritated me at first, but I get where he's coming from, I think.  He has a case to win and he doesn't want anything to jeopardize that - he doesn't want Joran to have one winnable point against the prison or the courts.  I get it.

But let's be honest.  The Flores family even, despite their tragic loss and terrible pain, will still never know the depth of Beth's struggle.  They will have a trial, their day in court, and most likely, justice for Stephany.  All while Joran continues to lie about Natalee and to taunt Beth, and all of Natalee's family.

I'm sure Beth could have turned down Peter de Vries' offer to go to Peru, I admire her so much for saying yes again, for not giving up, not giving in to fear, not settling for someone else's justice.  Natalee still needs to come home.

Forty years, Aruba.  I do believe she meant it.

PS - Hey Anita, how much hate is your heart?

Hi Lifesong!    I know what you're saying and agree. The Flores family is a needless victim and Aruba is accountable as well as Joran, IMO. However, their experience, as horrible, needless and tragic as it was, is different from Beth's. Beth has not been able to bury her daughter. She has not been able to see even the beginnings of justice for Natalee's death. She had to fight the facts and those who were supposed to help her. She had to watch it all slip away bit by bit with every release from jail and every mockery of a hearing. She watched for years as those who she knows is accountable went about their smarmy lives, while her child, so full of promise, was thrown away and pawned by authorities sworn to uphold laws.

God Bless Beth Holloway and may she see the day when Natalee comes home and Joran goes to Hell.

Since Joran killed Stephany, Anita has been all over the place drumming up sympathy for
herself and Joran.  Joran said that he would only give an interview for $1,000,000.

Books are being published saying that Joran was just an innocent teenager until Beth
hounded him for five years.
Pictures have been published of Joran living it up in Castro Castro...watching soccer, playing
cards with the Columbian Clown.

It seems that people in NL have forgotten the victims...Natalee and Stephany.  I have been
furious about the whole situation and can only imagine how Beth must feel.

I say hooray for Beth and Peter for bringing the focus back where it belongs and remindng
Joran that he can run, but he can't hide from the mother of at least one of his victims.

I don't think Peter had to pay Beth a dime.  I think she went into that prison with her heart
a'pounding.

    Well said, Magnolia.

I don't think they're holding hands. I think it's just the camera angle. Isn't Peter married?

Yes and a formal apology and retraction was issued for this report.

Because something is "reported" doesn't make it a fact.

Yes, and "no comment" followed by a bunch of quote stack lies is certainly a comment. IMO

Natalee Holloway’s mother confronts suspected killer in Peruvian prison
By Brett Michael Dykes brett Michael Dykes 2 hrs 29 mins ago

Never underestimate the determination of Beth Holloway-Twitty.

Ever since Natalee Holloway disappeared in Aruba in April 2005, the crusading mother has been relentless in her attempt to get to the bottom of her daughter's disappearance. "I will pursue this with every ounce of energy that I have," she said at the time. "And I'm not gonna stop."

On Wednesday in Peru, she took her crusade to a whole new level, sneaking into the prison where lead suspect Joran van der Sloot is being held held in connection with the murder of another young woman.

Accompanied by a Dutch journalist investigating her daughter's disappearance, Holloway-Twitty spoke to Van der Sloot for about five minutes before she was escorted out of the facility by authorities for not having permission to be inside of it with a camera crew. Van der Sloot reportedly refused to answer any of her questions.

"She's still looking for answers about her daughter," Holloway-Twitty's attorney John Kelly told NBC News. "She wants to bring her daughter home."

Watch a Today Show segment on Holloway-Twitty's covert operations below:

Van der Sloot previously confessed to disposing of Holloway's body, only to later retract his statement. He also once claimed to have sold her into sex slavery, and he has been investigated for his involvement with a Thai sex ring. He confessed to murdering 21 year-old Stephany Flores in Peru, only to later retract that as well.

Van der Sloot has also confessed to trying to extort money from Holloway-Twitty in exchange for details on her daughter's disappearance.

I'm not crazy about the discussion of "hand holding" but I'm bringing this here just to say again that IMO, it's the camera angle. Look at their stride and arm positions. They're almost identical, and clearly, Beth is closer to the camera so her hand appears "over" Peter's. They're arms, legs and hands are at the same natural point in a stride. Even if you can't buy that, I'm 100% positive that both were aware of the camera and there's no way Beth would cloud her mission with the undertones of scandal. I can easily buy that Peter took her hand in much the same way a gentleman takes the arm of a lady crossing the street, but I don't think it happened at all. JMO.

Thanks, CBB.  I see what you see with the closer look.

Also was thinking it must not be that cold in Peru during the day.  Both are wearing tee shirts.

Look!  Peter de Vries shoe is attached to Beth's pants leg!

I couldn't care less whether or not they are holding hands.  I have held the hand and arm of many men with whom I was not nor did I ever intend to have an affair.

I kind of like the idea that Beth and PdV are friends and would hope they would be comfortable in each others presence.

What I'd really like to know if what Beth said to the Monster.

I hope Beth included something to the effect to Joran that his own mother is NOT there but she BETH is!

But I wouldn't put it past Beth to give Joran a message of forgiveness.  Just hope she placed conditions on it if that's what she did.

I'd have told him that if I could get to him, think about who else could and mean things like that.

But Beth is far nicer than I am.

Yes, it was wishful thinking on the part of the Joran supporters that she was arrested.  And I said that was NOT the case from the get-go because Latins revere their mothers and understand emotions and I cannot even imagine them arresting a grieving mother for much of anything.

Goes totally against the culture.  Says the mother of Hispanic children, lol.

And no one got arrested for throwing rotten stuff on the Monster even.

Yeah, Joran supporters like to think he has all kinds of imagined rights and privileges that in reality just don't exist.

Joran is not in Kansas Aruba any more.

Even dumb as he is, he had to get that part of the message for it's unspoken but staring him right in the face.

And he had to get the message that Beth has not and is not going to EVER go away.

I love it when she does something like this.

I bet Joran has figured out that if Beth could get to him, so could anybody else that wanted to.

Maximum Highness doesn't know what was said or how long Beth was there.  He only has Joran's
word and we all know what that is worth.

Forgiveness vs Justice

« Reply #281 on: March 11, 2008, 10:16:13 PM »

They appreciate the kind words, especially from someone as knowledgeable as you are about the case. It is indeed a gift to be strong enough as a person to forgive someone, as the forgiver is rewarded far greater than the forgiven I believe. I hope that Beth and Dave in particular prove strong enough to one day be able to forgive Joran, even while insisting that justice be accomplished. A heart full of hatred has no room for love, enjoyment, contentment, and happiness. A heart full of hatred is a heavy heart to bear.

The trick is to be able to grant forgiveness, but still be able to focus on pushing for justice. At this point, I feel as if the people allegedly attacking Joran, are actually the people who represent hope and a future for Joran. If he isn't allowed to confess and repent, he will have no chance for a productive rewarding life. It is his parents and their friends, the forces from the dark, who are holding on to Joran steadfastly trying to keep him from the love of God.

Some people will say that it doesn't seem that my behavior for example is reflective of Christian teachings, and I honestly don't know the answer to that. I feel that the court of public opinion is the only viable means to seeing that justice is served and that Joran is driven into the arms of his Father. For me, to a certain degree, it means playing this out in the public arena, and to do that sometimes I make mean spirited remarks about Joran. But I can forgive Joran and still feel compelled to make sure he is not content in his life absent repentance and confession, and that is what I try and do. I don't have to feel he goes unpunished, and I honestly would punish him myself if ever given the opportunity, to be able to forgive him.

I believe as I am spanking his butt I will be saying that this is going to hurt me more than it does you:), but you deserve and need this, and of course I feel obligated to give it to you. Usually that kind of love comes at the hands of your father, at a much earlier age. To that all I can say is Joran, better late than never, and I am truly sorry your father did such a miserable job raising you.
