ORANJESTAD — The government and The Baron Investors have almost settled the sale of the former Bushiri Hotel. “The sale is heading in the right direction”, says Minister Otmar Oduber (AVP) of Tourism, Labor and Transport.

Expectations are that the sale will be definite within two to three months. A five-star hotel from the Hilton International chain – that collaborates with The Baron Investors – is then to arise at the location of the former Bushiri. Meanwhile, the government has already started giving the garden of the complex a facelift.

The building has been empty for years and fell prey to drifters, vandals, graphite gushers and arsonists. Unidentified persons set fire to the roof of the Bushiri Hotel at the end of July. The damage to the building was less than expected because the fire brigade was on the scene shortly afterwards. For a long time, the former government tried to sell the hotel. At the beginning this year, it became clear that the sale to the Spanish Sol Melia group, who showed interest in the former Bushiri Hotel for a long time, was over and done with. Hi Magnolia    The scene at Bucuti Beach Resort looked so lonely and deserted, I was checking to see if anyone was around.  I was getting skeered here all alone lookin' at that pic.   

Has anyone seen/heard anything more about Joran being in solitary?  Is he out now?  And actually, I wonder if he really was/is in solitary or is that just the media talking?  I'd like to see a picture of him in solitary.  Ooops.  That's what supposedly got him in there in the first place was the photo of him with his buds in prison thought, right?

I don't believe for one second that he was or is in solitary.

Huh-uh.......... don't tell me that! 

I've kept the thought of Joran in solitary as my mood lifter for days now!   

Guess it's back to the bottle..................     

I really liked the description of the place, too; Dark, dank, rats, gruel to eat, no electricity.....  Just the place for a worm like Joran!
