"Lies, Damn Lies, & Statistics" And Crime

Is crime really down?

I keep hearing (from liberal TV people) that crime is down. Why? Down everywhere, everykind.

Why?

Is it because of folks like Eric Holder that let black panthers go?

How are these liberals measuring crime?

Are criminal convictions down? If so, why?

Perhaps there are more deals that avoid convictions for some? Criminals are let loose, and not charged with anything?

Are more people filing complaints about crime? 60 complaints in 2007, 80 complaints in 2009? Crime still going down?

Maybe police aren't investigating? Aren't following up due to budget constraints?

Is crime really going down, or are convictions? Anyone feel safer?

I seem to recall that some want to send fewer people to jail.

Maybe the streets are safer because of "3 Strikes" laws?

How are they measuring crime?

Apples to oranges?

Massaging crime statistics? Massaging crime reporting? What about all that violence along the border? Some, from my reading think crime, drugs, and gang violence are up!!!

Sometimes, things aren't as they appear or are being promoted.
