Betty White To Star In Upcoming Comic Book
September 7, 2010

NewsCore) - Betty White, the 88-year-old “Golden Girls” actress who has experienced a late career resurgence over the last few months, will be the subject of an upcoming issue of the “Female Force” biographical comic book series, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

White won a Creative Arts Emmy Award in August for her guest-hosting spot on “Saturday Night Live” in May, a gig she scored after a Facebook campaign, which brought the show its highest ratings in 18 months.

Her career began in 1939 in the earliest days of television. In 1985, “The Golden Girls” premiered, giving White her best-known role as the naive Rose Nylund.

"Betty White has had such an amazing entertainment career … It’s one that has now spanned more than 70 years," said Darren G. Davis, president of Bluewater Productions, which will publish the 32-page comic in November.

Davis said the biggest challenge of turning White into a comic character was "figuring out how to include as much of this career as possible in one comic."

Other women who have been given the “Female Force” treatment by Bluewater include Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama and “Twilight Saga” author Stephenie Meyer.
