Last status hearing when Bobo was going over his colouring project and Mr Ashton was asking about some of the forensics stuff, Bobo said he and the Jar were flying to NY to meet with LKB and they would have a schedule for Ashton or whatever it was after those  meetings.  Wonder what is going to happen now?  Bet this makes him colour outside the lines.

I was hoping it was the Jar when I saw the headline.

I don't know if she was actually in Knoxville for the scientist's depositions, but my guess is she did them and afterward felt they had such an ironclad case she had nothing to dispute. The entire defense has been built on lies and I am guessing these attorneys who have left were lied to also. I am guessing they were led to believe there would be a lot of money and notoriety for them and none of that has played out. The press has all been bad, and the money tree got cut down. All BOZO has to sell today are some old tree limbs.

The bolded portion in Turbo's post (BBM) sounds reasonable.  I believe LKB did the depos via Skype.  Yes, the timing of her filing to be relieved would jive with this idea, as well as the lame spin that LKB is bowing out at this point because "her work is done now," etc.  More likely that the depos showed her the writing on the wall, and it spelled out "LOSING CASE."  Run, LKB, run.

On Friday, October 22, 2010 I filed a motion to withdraw from representation of Casey Anthony in her Florida indictment for death penalty murder. As a result of my involvement with these types of cases, it is my viewpoint that a nationwide overhaul of the system must occur involving both expenses for out of state pro bono lawyers in death penalty cases and multi-state credit for out of state pro bono time to fulfill a lawyer's public service obligations. After nearly two years of representing Casey Anthony in the forensic area, the forensic discovery is about to end. This year alone I took nearly a week's worth of depositions of FBI laboratory criminalists in Washington, D.C. in person and just recently in September several days of depositions of the Oak Ridge National Laboratories by Skype. As you know The State's Attorney has hundreds of attorneys and investigators, millions of dollars and unlimited access to untold State and Federal resources: all trying to find evidence to convict Casey Anthony. They have also employed dozens of investigators and many different forensic labs to try and find what they call 'scientific evidence' against Casey. It was important to help the trial lawyers understand and identify the real science and distinguish it from the kind of unvalidated science that the National Academies of Science (NAS) report addressed last year. Even with the nearly two years of pro bono time I have volunteered, and my funding this year of my own travel expenses because it was in the best interest of the client that I fulfill my commitment review the forensic science during discovery, Florida rules prevent the funding of a pro bono out of state lawyer's expenses even in a death penalty case. As trial approaches, and critical decisions must be made with the client input, it is important for the trial lawyers to have substantial, direct, and constant contact with the client in order to engage in constitutionally effective representation and give appropriate life-saving advice, something not as important during discovery, but which I cannot do from afar.See More

Well, the news report did mention that LKB would be participating in Casey's case in some capacity at a later date... Maybe after Casey's conviction, and after SHE has sat on death row for 20 years, LKB will come calling...

That Innocence Project post of hers was offensive IMO.  Yes, the State of Florida has access to lots of attorneys and experts, and plenty of money.  And they also have TONS of other cases to deal with, not just Princess Casey.  Not only that, the State is representing CAYLEE and all the people of Florida.  Not just one lying, murdering sociopath who could have saved everyone a lot of money, time, and trouble (not to mention heartache) if she had just confessed her crimes.  Sorry, it's hard to drum up any sympathy for a killer who has hurt so very many innocent people along the way.

Where were you and your costly out-of-state "expertise" when duct tape was being applied to Caylee's precious little face, Linda?  Who was there to protect her?

Depositions Cancelled Suddenly In Casey Case

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- WFTV is working to find out why two defense depositions that were scheduled for Tuesday morning in the case against Casey Anthony were suddenly cancelled.

WFTV had reported that Casey's former fiancé Jesse Grund and his father Richard were both set to be deposed.

However, late Monday night that hearing was cancelled.

Casey and her family had previously tried to cast suspicion on Jesse Grund as someone who could have abducted Caylee

Key Deposition Scheduled In Casey Case
Corrections Officer To Give Sworn Testimony Today

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A key deposition is scheduled for Tuesday morning in the case against Casey Anthony.
An Orange County corrections officer, Sylvia Hernandez, is expected to give sworn testimony in the Anthony case.
Hernandez was fired for allowing Anthony to exchange secret letters with another inmate.

The letters, which were sent between Anthony and fellow inmate Robyn Adams, were released as evidence by the state earlier this year.

In an investigative summary, investigators wrote that Adams discussed the topic of Zenaida Gonzalez with Anthony. Anthony has told authorities Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee.

In conversations with investigators, Adams claimed Anthony made two references to Gonzalez. The first indicated "there was no Zenaida" and "Zenaida didn't do this." The second reference claimed Gonzalez was a childhood friend.

Investigators said Adams also told them that Anthony would give Caylee "stuff" to make her sleep.
Anthony and Adams discussed chloroform, and Anthony told Adams she would give the toddler "antihistamines or something" because she had difficulties getting her to take naps.

A deposition with Anthony's former fiance, Jesse Grund, has been canceled.

Anthony is currently being held at the Orange County Jail and charged with the murder of her daughter, Caylee Marie.

Long-time Casey Anthony defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden has left the defense team citing financial limitations in continuing to represent her.

Kenney Baden's motion to withdraw as counsel in the high-profile case was filed in court this afternoon.

The New York City based attorney cited financial reasons for her departure and state rules surrounding Casey Anthony being declared indigent for costs in the murder case.

She noted that the defense team must comply with Justice Administration Commission rules in this case.
As out of state counsel I have been traveling to Florida and elsewhere to properly represent Ms. Anthony," she wrote in her motion. But, she added, it is her "understanding that the JAC prohibits payment of such costs to out of state attorneys even though they have rendered and are rendering their services free of charge."

Kenney Baden goes on to say she cannot continue representing Casey Anthony "in the absence of substantial funds to cover the costs of travel and reimbursement for expenses, which she anticipates will increase as trial approaches…"

She added that like Andrea Lyon, who also withdrew from the case as an out of state counsel earlier this year, she has worked hundreds of hours on the case.

"I believe in the client's innocence to the charges and do not wish personally or professionally to withdraw from this case," she wrote. "Nonetheless, because the state of Florida fails to reimburse out of state pro bono attorneys for expenses, I am forced to make this application…"

She says she cannot represent Casey Anthony "from afar without the necessary interactions and appearances in Florida."

Casey Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie. Her trial is expected to start in May. She faces a possible death sentence if convicted.

Turbo....I THINK I read/heard someplace that she attended via Skyp..not sure if that's true....but they sure have been quiet about these depos!

I'm going to Florida Wednesday to visit my mom. Would love to go to the hearing on Friday, but my sisters are coming for the week too, and I don't know if I can ask them to spend a whole day in Orlando for me to go......it's not very often we are all able to visit my mom at the same time.

Desi, that is what I read someplace that LKB participated in the depos via Skyp, but I can't remember where I read it. and I agree that after the TN depos she knew she couldn't shake or cast doubt on the evidence and she cut her losses.
