SuzieQ

I haven't seen anything in the American press about plans for an appeal, yet.  Maybe there will be some articles when she actually files the appeal.

Just stopped in.....it is so hard to return to threads that are now dormant.   I know the cases get solved,   people are located,   more go missing or murdered.   I somehow feel we have invested so much emotional energy into these threads there should be more justice...more torment for the perpetrator.    Silly,  I know.   Just an unhealthy desire to hear how horrendous the perp is doing.    Rest easy Zahra.

not silly at all!

Child abuse awareness month kicks off at Zahra Baker Park
Posted: Friday, April 1, 2016 9:54 pm |  Updated: 12:05 pm, Mon Apr 4, 2016

HICKORY – Hundreds of pinwheels spun in the noontime wind at Zahra Baker Park on Friday to announce the start of child abuse awareness month.

The Children’s Advocacy and Protection Center has held the “Pinwheels for Prevention” event annually for the past four years.

“It is one of the largest pinwheel gardens in the state,” Kate Landry said, who is the CAPC’s Community Education and Outreach Coordinator.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the nonprofit and the center sold nearly 800 pinwheels prior to the event.

“The money goes to prevention efforts, but the emphasis is on awareness,” Landry said.
