Turkish minister to Germany's Turks: 'learn German'
 
Bagis urges Germans of Turkish origin to adapt to customs their adopted country.

BERLIN - Turkey's Europe Minister Tuesday called on the 2.5 million Turks in Germany to learn the language and integrate into society, in a bid to calm an increasingly fiery immigration debate in the country.

"I ask all my Turkish compatriots and all Germans of Turkish origin: Learn German. Adapt to the customs and conventions of your adopted country," Egemen Bagis told Bild, Europe's most widely-read newspaper.

"You should not give up the gift of your identity and your culture, but you should consider yourselves ambassadors for Turkey. Only in this way can you build bridges for a better friendship and partnership between our countries."

Since August, a debate on immigration has raged in Europe's biggest economy when a central banker said that Germany was being made "more stupid" by poorly educated and unproductive Muslim immigrants and their offspring.

In Vienna, the far-right leader, Heinz-Christian Strache, more than doubled his vote to 27% following a xenophobic campaign that featured free computer games which involved firing at mosques, and calls for the city's "blood to remain Viennese". In some working-class areas of the city, Strache's Freedom party took 37%.

Last month in Sweden, which has traditionally practised Europe's most open-door policy towards immigrants, a party with neo-Nazi roots, Sweden Democrats, broke through into parliament for the first time thanks to an "enough-is-enough" campaign against immigration.

In France, the beleaguered Sarkozy administration has banned the burqa – a policy being emulated in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland – and fought its biggest battle in years with EU headquarters in Brussels over the summary deportation of Roma or Gypsy families.

The backdrop to the backlash is economic gloom, austerity packages, and public spending cuts, with voters worried about their jobs, living standards, and children. Mainstream leaders are desperate to shore up support, and extremist populist mavericks resort to scapegoating immigrants in a time of troubles on everything from lost jobs, soaring welfare bills, social housing, and crime rates.

Ageing, shrinking, in decline, and anxious to save its "social model", Europe, of course, needs immigrants to do the jobs, fund the pension schemes, deliver the tax revenues that it is accustomed to enjoying. It knows it cannot do without immigration but it has yet to come up with a satisfactory way of organising it.

How much could taxes be reduced if all the illegal aliens and their families went home?  No more anchor babies?  No more expenses for hundreds of bilingual educational offerings in schools?  No more expenses for interpreters in 100's of languages?  At one time, immigrants learned English or provided their own interpreter.

Angela Merkel is so right to highlight this problem which exists not only in Germany but throughout Europe and especially here within the U.K.

Liberal minded, political correctnes has taken over and good old common sense has been booted out.
Britain, the founder of the Common Law and the instigator of the Mother of Parliaments has a " British" tradition of greatness; a tradition of which we rightly should feel proud. To be British counts for a lot within the World and to be a holder of the original British Passport stood for something.
Alas , no longer the case. We have become a " Melange", a mixture of nationalities with no clear idea of who , or what we are. or for what we represent any more.

Unfettered immigration has led to Ghetto's occupied by those who chose not to contribute to our society, but merely take what they can from it.

Soon India will be allowed to flood our shores with it's emigrant population and so it will carry on.

Britains politicians need to bite the bullet and get to grips with this sorry state of affairs, even now when it is probably too late. Merkel and Germany are the wealthiest nation in Europe and if they are not happy with the status quo, then neither should we be.
Let us return our Country to a British way of life, not an imposed liberally minded hotch pot of competing ethniticity and religions.

Enoch Powell was not far wrong when he spoke of " Rivers of Blood". His timing may have been out, but his forecast was spot on. !!

For proof of it failing in this country you only have to look at towns like Luton,Blackburn,Leicester,Peterborough just to name a few you would think you were in Afghanistan not the UK there are so many no go areas its like east Germany and west Germany before the wall came down Islam followers don't want equality they only want superiority and they are well on their way to getting it with human rights and PC brigade sticking their noses in
