How many temporary residents do smaller urban areas in Wisconsin get, just in time for elections?

How many folks move to south east Wisconsin, just in time to register for the November elections?  How long before they return south to Illinois?  Chicago?

While waiting to vote in Wisconsin's Democrat primary in 2008 I had three women in front of me.  One was told she had already voted that day, to which she replied, "I did?".

Two other women were registering without any form of ID and a utility bill that could have been photoshopped, picked out of the garbage, or stolen.

No one in Wisconsin has to show ID to register or to vote.  How dumb is that?

How many seasonal residents does Wisconsin get just before election time?  How many move away after they vote?

Wisconsin has been on the losing end of Washington politics for decades.  Our taxes, income and property are among the highest in the nation.  We have high Medicaid costs, high costs for other welfare programs, high unemployment, and get nothing from Washington, as I compare to our southern neighbor, Illinois, and Chicago.

What gives?  I have to look around and wonder how many folks move up from Chicago and Illinois to Wisconsin just in time to vote?

The founders had some good ideas about who was eligible to vote.  Why should temporary residents be voting when they don't pay our high taxes and support our welfare state?

How many newly registered, or folks voting spent the past two years in Illinois and will return after election day?

How can the long term, year round resident compete at the poll with seasonal voters that have no long term interest in Wisconsin's future?
