WBTV at 4 Sky 3 live overhead. Steve Crump on scene, investigators are quiet and reporters are being restricted to the church area. Recap of the water searchers. They plan on being there quite awhile maybe thru the night. NO PRESS UPDATE TODAY MAYBE TOMORROW.

This tells me they have found something significant - important enough to spend time on it, not just marking it for daylight tomorrow.  I wish we knew if ME vans or mobile crime labs have come to the sight.

I so hope and pray they found her.

NRCG, I am just agreeing with you all over the place today. They are leaving no stone unturned. It leaves me confident they will find her.

They have had a ME on scene all day. It was in a previous article that was posted.

After finding the bone last week though, I imagine having a ME on scene would be a handy thing to have around. Just in case and because they are coming across A LOT of animal bones (all the articles have said this) it would be advantageous to have a ME on scene to rule in/out any bones that they may come across.

I was just wondering in what capacity ME was there....I don't know much about the goings on - whether there would be1 or 2 persons form the ME office, or it they would be totally equipped with a mobile lab...

Search intensifies for Zahra as flights limited in area

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - Search teams are combing a new site in Caldwell County on Wednesday for evidence related to the investigation of Zahra Baker, the missing 10-year-old girl.
Crews began searching at an area near Dudley Shoals Drive and Burns Road in Caldwell County at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday.  Officials said the area, which has been searched before, was one of the locations that Elisa Baker suggested search crews look.
The search on Wednesday has taken on a more serious tone with a limited fly zone set up -- meaning news helicopters are not allowed to travel lower than 3000 feet in the area. Also, earlier Wednesday search crews went in with dry suits, and then went in to search a body of water called Gunpowder Creek.
According to WBTV reporter Steve Ohnesorge, police are extremely tight-lipped about what is happening and they seem more intense as the search goes on. The media is being kept back further than ever -- and security for the search area is tighter than it ever has been.

Dave Faherty (WSOC) also confirming police found something today...said he knew something was up around 1:00 pm. Search was supposed to end about that time, but instead, media were asked to clear out. LE may be on scene overnight.

Searchers were using paddles in murky, cold water looking for Zahra's remains. Same place police checked 3 weeks ago when EB was brought there with LE. They are searching 1/2 mile either direction, and there are evidence markers where animal bones were found.

Says Zahra's biological mother is soon to be on her way here!

starting at 1:13 you can see the searcher brushing leaves off of something (cardboard, plywood? ) and putting into a brown paper bag.
