What a beautiful picture to be able to admire while reading all the ugly. This whole case just makes me sick to my stomach. I thought Kyron's case was bad this one is the worse for me so far. To do such horrible to such a beautiful child as Zahra.  These people should be stretched and quartered like in the old days.  JMO

Has anyone heard anything about where Adam Baker is since he got out of jail?  Probably with his family in a motel room?  His family has stayed under the radar.

I really hoped when I got home tonight I would see that Z would have been found. The poor mother, no matter what the reason she gave or had this child taken away, she must be suffering. I feel bad for her. Not for AB or any other person that failed this little girl.

Has anyone heard anything about where Adam Baker is since he got out of jail?  Probably with his family in a motel room?  His family has stayed under the radar.

That is what is the most heartbreaking.  We don't know what Zahra's favourite colour is, what she liked to do, what she wanted to do, what music she liked to listen to, her favourite book etc.  There is NO ONE standing for her right now.  Almost like not one person in her family knew her

Zahra Baker search: Crews continue digging in Hickory  (with video)


HICKORY, N.C. -- Investigators returned for a second day of digging and sifting in the backyard of the home Hickory where 10-year old Zahra Baker lived until she disappeared nearly three weeks ago.

Investigators again used a backhoe to turn over piles of dirt, mulch and wood chips before painstakingly using rakes and sometimes just their hands to look for clues.

Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins arrived at the search site around noon to watch investigators as they worked.  Adkins said that a new, sealed, search warrant had been issued that give police access to the yard and the inside of the house.

Adkins would not say what investigators hoped to find, only that they returned to the house based on new information that had been provided to them.

Elisa Baker, Zahra's stepmother is now cooperating with police. Investigators will not say if information from her led them to search the yard or if she told them the location of a prosthetic leg that was discovered earlier this week in Caldwell County.

Zahra wore a prosthetic leg but police are awaiting medical records to see if he the leg is a match to the missing girl.

Charles Bost lives next door to the Baker house. From his yard he had a close-up view as investigators combed through wood chips and mulch.

He wishes things could have been different.

"To think I live so close to something this horrible and couldn't do anything about it," Bost says.

While he wishes there was something he could have done, Bost says he and his wife never saw Zahra at the house and whenever they talked to Adam Baker, her father, he never mentioned that he had a daughter.

"I'm beginning to think the child was never here. But I don't know that," he says.

You are right!  Seems like Grandma Baker is just laying low.  Zahra had no champion until it was too late and that makes me very mad.

I just don't understand otherwise, because surely someone would have heard something.

I just thought of something.  If Zahra's remains were scattered all over that yard, wouldn't those cadaver dogs have been hitting all over the yard?  I dunno... this is so horrible to even think of.
