  Or are they saying it has gone from ME office to SBI lab, and will be sent back if related to the case??  Or is this a correction from their earlier story, wherein they said that the ME's office would send the bone to the SBI lab IF it was determined to be related?  Maybe I misunderstood what I read earlier?  I'm now confused, and apologize if I'm confusing anyone else here.  I'm sure there is a simple explanation.

Regardless, I'm confident that LE knows what they are doing, and trust them to do their work in the best interest of Zahra and of justice for those who have harmed her.

My heart is very heavy this morning.  I can not imagine the pain the searchers are going through nor the pain Zahra's mother and her maternal family are dealing with right now.  A song of peace that  seems appropriate.  I hope it brings some peace to some hurting hearts.

I wish that any one of us would have had the pleasure of having this little girl...she would have been sooooo loved.....

Yes Cookie, I agree!  It is the kind hearted spirit and nature here that helps soothe our wounded souls through this ordeal.  Although most of us never met Zahra, it seems once we take a child into our hearts here, they are ours forever.  I think that's why with every case, I always hesitate to get involved.  I know this day will come, when I am sitting here sobbing because they found a piece of some poor little precious soul whom I have come to love.  A child someone else discarded or neglected or abused.  I think that is why I feel I must follow what happens though.  If we don't care, who will?  I have to believe our love and concern for Zahra and all the other lost babies matters.

Faith . . . it matters . . . it really does.

Just to clarify:

The latest update to WBTV's story says that the bone was being examined at the SBI, then would be sent to the Chapel Hill ME's office for further testing if it was determined to be related to the case.

I think that the Chapel ME determined it "human". Then they sent it along to SBI to get the DNA testing done on it. If it's determined to be Zahra's. (they can probably do this much quicker than the local ME)

Once DNA is done and if proven that is Zahra's.... it will be sent back to the ME for further testing to be done, if needed. (such as toxicology or any possible tool mark testing, etc.)
