Totally OT: My husband comes home next month (he's deployed on a submarine... icky)... is there any way these monkeys can be made into a sailor monkey & his girl monkey? Teehee! That would bring me so much joy!

Thank you so much!  This is our first deployment... it's only 6 months - I cannot IMAGINEEEE going any longer! My older brother is in the Army and he had long deployments, but it's much different when it's your spouse.

Plus, we eloped in July and only had 9 married days together!  It'll be nice to spend more time with him. Me and my doggie are lonely here without family & friends!

Thanks you for dressing me up for Christmas.  You are appreciated.

This morning my pilot SIL dropped of seven year old homeschooled grandson at 6:30 AM on his way to the airport.  Papa and Mama have put on their  teachers' caps.  When lessons are completed ... grandson has been afforded the task of decorating the Christmas tree which looks kinda naked at the moment with just lights.  This little guy is so excited.

Janet, you have a tree!  Oh, how lovely!
 



Well ... sort of.

Grandson pleaded with me to let him decorate the tree all by himself with none of my input.  I thought about it for a minute and ... then told him to go for it.  I put four open shoe boxes on the sofa.  One with wooden ornaments ... one with sentimental ornaments ... one with icicles and ... one full of little red and white candy case.  The red and green minature lights had already been put up.  About one hour later I was given the go ahead to come into the living room.  This little had adorned the tree with the candy canes ... nothing else.  That is the way he wanted it.  He thought it was beautiful.  He was so proud.

It took all my inner strength not to redo the tree after he left but ... I knew when he came again ... he would have been hurt to see all his hard work destroyed.

Anyways ... tonight hubby and were sitting back watching a Christmas TV program with grandson's nine year old sister and ... we decided it truly is beautiful ... simple can be nice.
