As the latest subject under discussion has been the avlidity of the marriage between AB/EB here is Australia I have once again tried to search for any official record of this.  No luck.

Our Goverment state departments called Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages holds all records.

Marriages

The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages registers all marriages that occur in Queensland. A marriage must be registered before you can get a marriage certificate.

We also offer an elegant and affordable wedding venue in the heritage listed former Government Printery in Brisbane for stylish weddings at the registry. Many regional Magistrates Courts also conduct weddings.

Before getting married

Before you can be married in Queensland, you need to give at least one month and one day notice of your intent to marry.

Register a marriage

Your celebrant will lodge the necessary documents to register your marriage with us.
Marriage certificate

Apply for a standard or commemorative marriage certificate.

Overseas marriages

Overseas marriages can’t be registered in Queensland. If you intend marrying overseas, we can supply a ‘No record of marriage in Queensland’ document to prove that you are free to marry.

Becoming a celebrant

To conduct marriages in Australia, Celebrants and Ministers of Religion must be registered.

Family history research

Use this free online historical index search tool to help you research your family history.

Following consideration of client feedback, the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages will launch an improved Historical Index Search Facility effective from the 1st July 2010.  In addition to some minor cosmetic and processing changes the major improvements are as follows:

    * the addition of wildcard searching;
    * the addition of variable date searching (day and or month and or year); and
    * the return of district identifiers on registration numbers.

Search our historical records

You can search our historical indexes for free. Index records are available for births registered up to and including 1914, deaths registered up to and including 1964 and marriages registered up to and including 1934.

Historical index search tips

Instructions and tips on using the online historical index search including a list of abbreviations used in the records.

From the previous posting you can see marriage records in Queensland since 1934 are not available for public perusal.  Other states have similar restrictions. If I needed a copy of my own marriage certificate I would have to prove my identity, lodge an application, pay the required fee and have the copy mailed to me about a week later.
