Good Morning all!

Had the funeral for Sister in Law yesterday - it was a wonderful celebration of her life and our sorrow. She had over 500 people in there! it was amazing how loved she was.

My step-daughter showed up - with her kids one of which has a broken leg - how the he!! does a 4 year old break a leg. I have raised a few kids and never had a broken bone. I would call it an accident if it was not for the fact the older one has had a broken leg, arm, burns over 40% of her body and all of them have been removed multiple times for abuse. It breaks my heart that these precious kids are subjected to this. CPS keeps taking them and then returning them to her. Between this and the cases we deal with here, I have no faith left in the system. I just pray that the kids make it to adulthood without being killed. Sad, Sad, Sad.

I pray for them too boyzmom.
For what it's worth,I do not have much faith in the system either. After we lost our little grandson, that was it for me.I think a lot of people just assume the system will handle things correctly....they don't.

BabsKats . . . your poor dad . . . it used to be people requiring wheel chairs were looked after, and escorted by airline staff.

Good morning Monkeys!  Happy Sunday to all.

I remember those days.

Good morning Monkeys!  Happy Sunday to all.
Well dad was very stubborn, and with the dementia he was in denial and didn't think he should be treated like a lil ol man, so refused the wheelchair for several flights, when we finally convinced him he couldn't do it by himself any longer, and requested the wheelchair assistance, the airline was fantastic and kind escorting him on and off and directly to our care.
Dementia of all sorts is a terrible disease, he didn't have Alzhimers, his was classified as Frontal Lobe dementia, constant confusion, never really was forgetfully, just processing information was near impossible.  His personality change was dramatic, he'd never been mean or nasty.  He became very physically abusing towards me, and accusatory.

I hope anyone that are seeing changes in their friends and relatives seek professional help...don't try to deal with on your own, it is so damaging to both the patient and yourselves mentally and physically draining...

Yes, we love them, but as his doctor told me, he is no longer capable nor rationally competent -- you can't care for him, let go when it gets to the point that everyone is suffering and let the professionals take over!

Yes Babskat - very draining and scary for all concerned.
Sorry you had to experience your Dad's wrath but glad that was not your real Dad, but dementia taking over.

Hope your husband is better Green Eyes  an angelic monkey

Thanks NRCG  He is doing much better. Is home from the hospital and being his stubborn self.  They pumped him full of antibiotics and breathing treatments. Being he hasn't ever taken many antibiotics they worked very well and fast.  He has a few more days of taking meds at home. But up doing things today.

GE - good to hear your husband is home from the hospital and on the mend.

TBM,
I am glad the funeral was comforting.  It is so sad, though, that you had to feel the loss of your SIL in addition to feeling fear and worry for your step grandchildren...  I don't even know what to say.
I will add those children to my daily prayer.
Does your step daughter live closely enough to you that you can be watchful of the children?
Hugs.
Tol

They do live close to us (about 8 to 10 miles) but me going anywhere near them or driving by the house will cause big problems for hubby. Step monster ummm daughter thinks that I was the one that made CPS take her daughter the first time and the second time. The third time was because she assaulted a CPS lady that came out to check on the kids. Her youngest is almost two and has only lived with her about 2 months of his life. The lack of care is appalling - the kids came in dirty clothing to the funeral. Seems like you could at least wash them before a special event. I will keep praying for them and see what God has in store.

TBM  What a wonderful tribute to you sister in law.  She sounds like she had touched many life's.  an angelic monkey
Prayers for your step grand children. It's sad to say but I think most of the time the system stinks. It's gotten worse over the years.

Thank you all for the well wishes for hubs.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I watched a couple of the other vids posted and I am appalled! I have been watching the news, but I did not realize the extent of this carp!
I will be praying for your Dad, no one should have to be so humiliated...too many! Were they afraid the little boy was a terrorist? Geez!

Thank-you, and the same for my dad, an elderly man in a wheelchair. I just don't get this, they need to come up with something that isn't so humiliating, but then if you do the body scan, what are the chances of getting a health problem especially if you travel a lot.
