LilPuma - I think I know what river you mean!

I just learned that there will be a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE on MARCH 3 - the day of the monkey Lunch Date in Atlanta ... and hey, we just happen to have a planatarium and observatory, and it's FREE. ETA is 6:00 - 8:30 pm.
More here: http://fsc.fernbank.edu/

Although my favorite place for lunar eclipses is a golf course. Take the kids, bring candles/flashlights/lanterns, snacks, a blanket to spread ... can tell ghost stories etc., too! Golf course because there aren't any lights out there! Even if it turns out to be a disappointment (cloud cover etc.), it's still fun!

See my sig line re. the "Lunch Date" (which has 300+ views now!).

Do we really want the garbage pickers to know the date of a monkey get together?
Well, if any do show up, you can make sure SandraKrazy gets the check.

MisGivings - we are not posting the LOCATION of our lunch date.

I have a couple of posts on the thread that list attractions in the Atlanta area. Some folks who are making a day trip are interested in various other things to do.

Good Monkeys: I wish to share something exciting that happened tonight. First I have to give you the background so you know that the response was not "egged" on:
Background:
I was asked to give a thank you speech tonight at our City Council by the man who got the ball rolling on a city ordinance. (It was also televised on cable Laughing) in thanking our City Council as being the second city in America to pass an city ordinance giving free parking at curbside parking meters and municipal structures to Veterans' with special license plates (Congressional Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, American POW,Legion of Valor and Pearl Harbor Survivor). This was the 1st anniversary of the law.

A friend of mine in the city's Jewish War Veterans started the effort 3 yrs ago and he says I helped him a lot (all I did was write letters, emails, spread the word etc)

Anyway, in my speech giving thanks to all the important parties I pointed out how one person with a great idea, then a City Council and et al can make a difference. I also said that information in blogs such as scaredmonkeys.com is very important at spreading the word.

Now, remember I am about 20 feet from the City Council. The Vice-Mayor, also former Mayor, eyes lit up so large and his smile was so big when I mentioned scaredmonkeys.com I thought I'd loose my place in the speech.

Just thought that was neat and wanted to share.

scaredmonkeys.net and scaredmonkeys.com are very important. Thanks all!

PS Maybe your city would be interested too. In the last year this has been catching on "like wild-fire" as a way to say thanks to the Vets.

California Assembly Member and Majority Floor leader Karen Bass introduced AB 138 in Sacramento Jan. 17 mandating local agencies to do so, and involves State Reimbursement, I think. I'll post it in Political and  the Lounge for I am not sure I understand the State Bill, yet. http://www.assembly.ca.gov and put in # 138

Very nice, klaas.

What's scary is how long something like that could be  Shocked  - if ALL of the lies were included.

I know..I had to cut it off otherwise it would have been too long.  Think I'll do Deepak next.  Maybe I'll figure out how to incorporate part of the Skeeters video where he says Natalee was dressed like a slut.  Wink

Help

Klaas, I don't have my valentine avatar in photobucket. I don't see a link in my profile and am afraid to delete the valentine avatar. I cut and pasted it to my desktop put the animation comes out in frames. I don't have a gif program. What is the link for me to get my valentine avatar into photobucket and then I can delete it and put in the St Pat's one?

TIA
