Tyler, you stay safe and any other monkeys that might be in the path.  Same storm system came through Arkansas but the bad stuff went above us this time!  That is SO awful about the high school!  I'm hoping there will be no more touchdowns!!!!

Me too, Casa! Those poor parents. What a tragedy. Tyler said they had just let school out, so some of the kids hadn't made it to safety.

I'm at the office, picking up a few things to work on, and they're calling for thunderstorms tonight. I haven't seen anything that would indicate danger, but I think I'm going to head out and be settled in before they hit.

Monkeys - the weather reports are frightening.  What terrible news about the High School and other casualties.  God bless their families and the rescue workers.
I hope all our monkeys that live in the affected areas are safe.  We need a monkey roll call when there are disasters like this.  Praying for everyone's safety and trying to keep up to date with Fox cable news.

Tibro...I think a roll call is a great idea in situations like this. We all worry so .

Worst blizzard in over 12 yrs hit our area yesterday.  I was fortunate and only had to deal with major major wind and cold temps and driving on a sheet of ice.  (solid ice for 20 miles)  20 miles from me they had 16" of snow over night.  All of Omaha is shut down - theyjust opened up the interstate - very treachorous and headed east.  Very very strange weather....

We had thunder and lightening during a snow storm.  I do not ever remember that before - bizarre.

I hope it dies before it hits you.... we've had a month of this awful weather after a very nice winter.  

They were also predicting tornados here as well.. the ole "cold air mass meats warm air mass" thing.  Sounds like it was just south in Missouri as well.  

And I thought a true blizzard was all about snow.  Snow with thunder and lightening is scary.

I sat and cried when I heard it.  It seems like they have only found a few inside the building.  Parents searching for their children.  Fort Rucker which is about 5 miles as the crow flies it, the aviation center for the US Army has dispatched helicopters to search for missing children who may have been on their way home.  School had been dismissed 15 minutes when it hit and some had not made it home, others who rode busses were still waiting for their rides.  The hospital was hit and they were using pick-up trucks as that was all they had immediately just dispatch the injured to Southeastern General, which is the biggest hospital in Alabama, which is about 20 miles away.

How incredibly sad....
