I knew Zahra's murder case would languish during the holidays. But this has already drug out way too long for Adam still to be out and about. This bas*ard HAD to have guilty knowledge. You can't live in a tiny little house with the cruelty to Zahra being hidden. At the least, I would think Zahra would have gone to her father over her wicked stepmother's treatment of her. Obviously he did nothing or was part of the cruelty.

 Adam acts like he's dumb as a box of rocks, but I think he is cunning. It galls me no end that he is living in his apartment while Zahra didn't live long enough to see another Christmas. Why someone hasn't done him in by this time is a mystery to me.

I know LE has a job to and it has to be precise and from what I've seen they are doing a superb job in this case but what bothers the shtit out of me is that rat backstard got to spend Christmas and New Year's FREE!!!  Zahra didn't.  I think they should have locked him up just as they did EvilE on all those economic crimes.  Sorry, I'm mad for all children.  I just came from little Jonathon's thread.

Elisa Baker's attorneys seek bond reduction


CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- Zahra Baker's stepmother is scheduled to appear in Catawba County court Monday, seeking to reduce her bond.

Elisa Baker is facing several charges, including charges of obstruction of justice for allegedly writing a fake ransom note that was found when 10-year-old Zahra was reported missing.

Baker also faces charges of writing bad checks.

Baker's attorneys planned to ask a judge to reduce her bond during a hearing Monday.

Zahra Baker was reported missing Oct. 9, 2010. Her remains were found a month later in two separate rural locations in Caldwell County.

No one has been charged in connection with her death. Both Elisa Baker and Zahra's father, Adam Baker, have denied any wrongdoing in the case.

NewsChannel 36 reporter Rad Berky will attend Monday's hearing. He'll have live reports, beginning at 4 p.m.

Local Man Wants to Build Park For Zahra Baker

HICKORY, N.C.--A Hickory man has hopes to dedicate a park in honor of Zahra Baker and help the community heal.  The park would be for disabled kids.  The Facebook group "Let's Build A Park In Zahra's Memory" has more than 300 members. 

Zahra's remains were found last October.  So far no one has been charged in her death.  Baker's stepmother Elisa Baker will be in court Monday on obstruction of justice charges.  Baker admitted to writing a fake ransom note.

Wonder why the case was held off till tomorrow?  All I hope is that there is justice for Zahra and the right people all get charged and locked up.

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Zahra Baker's stepmother, Elisa Baker, is due in court Monday. She is scheduled to be in criminal superior court for an obstruction of justice charge.

It involves a ransom letter she told police she wrote. It was found outside the home where Zahra lived with her father and stepmother in Hickory.

The murdered 10-year-old girl disappeared in October.

I think until she is charged that they will keep piling on the other charges unrelated to Zahra.
I hope that he GJ would charge today, but I think with the festive season, persons in the prosecutors departments were off work. I am thinking of the Caylee case where it took weeks and months to get all the evidence results back. In this case, I know she is going down, but I want him to go down also. In my mind there is no way that all of this happened without him assisting. And my suspicions also are that there are others involved in child porn ( not Zahra ) that will be charged.

New Developments Expected In Zahra Baker Investigation  (with video)

HICKORY, N.C. -- New developments are expected this week in the Zahra Baker investigation.

A grand jury met briefly Monday afternoon to discuss possible new charges against Elisa Baker, Zahra's stepmother. The grand jury will meet again Tuesday, which is also when Elisa Baker is scheduled to be arraigned on an obstruction of justice charge and have a bond reduction hearing.

Police charged Elisa Baker with obstruction of justice after they said she admitted to writing a fake ransom note on Oct. 9, the same day that her 10-year-old stepdaughter was reported missing from their Hickory home.

Zahra Baker’s prosthetic leg and one of her bones were found weeks later along Christie Road in Caldwell County. On Nov. 10, her remains were found in the Dudley Shoals area of Caldwell County. No one has been charged in Zahra’s death, and police haven’t said how she died.

Many community members continue to hope for some type of resolution in the case, which captured global attention.

“I don't think they ever could make a horror movie that compares to this,” Jake Icenhour said.

“We just hope justice is done for this little girl,” his wife, Priscilla Icenhour, said. “She is so loved by everybody. (She) seems like a sweet child.”

Ray Johnson, who lived next to Elisa Baker, said he thinks police have had enough time to organize a case.

“I know the law wants (to do) everything they can get to make sure their Ts are crossed and Is are dotted before they go to court, but it doesn't take a blind man to see through stuff like this,” he said.

But others think police shouldn’t rush to make an arrest.

“(They should) take their time. Get all their ducks in a row to make it stick,” Jake Icenhour said.

Channel 9 has also learned that a judge could look at whether to unseal more search warrants in the case as early as Wednesday
