Police Fear Dire Outcome for Three Missing Boys

Authorities in Michigan are bracing for bad news in the search for three Michigan brothers who disappeared when their father tried to commit suicide.

Morenci, Mich., Police Chief Larry Weeks acknowledged at a news conference Tuesday that police "do not anticipate a positive outcome here."

The conclusion is based on statements made by the boys' father, John Skelton, but Weeks would say no more.

"Because it's an ongoing and fluid situation, that information is not going to be made available to the public," Weeks said, adding that no decision has been made on possible criminal charges in the case.

Weeks also addressed how the boys' mother, Tanya Weeks – who is separated from her husband – is holding up, saying, "Imagine your worst nightmare coming true. How would you respond?"
Mental Hospital
John Skelton, who is being treated in an Ohio hospital for "mental health issues" after his suicide attempt, told investigators he dropped off his boys, 9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner, last Friday morning with a woman by the name of Joann Taylor, whom he allegedly met online. But police found no such woman with a connection to Skelton.

Authorities now believe that Skelton, 39, may have driven his sons to an area in Ohio between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Friday, when they were reported missing, Weeks said. The search continued in Northern Ohio Tuesday.

correction to be clear   "parental kidnapping" is the official charge & officials are awaiting more info on the three bodies found nearby

Dad's been released from mental health facility. He's was arrested immediately by Lucas Co., MI police. He was charged with three counts of parental kidnapping. He will be extradited to OH.

Indication from the media that bodies have been found in Holiday City, posted on social media. They don't have any confirmation yet. A reporter on scene at ABC local has been following searchers all day and there has been no indications that anything has been found.

It already took place at 3 pm EST.

The Michigan police chief heading the investigation for three missing brothers said in a press conference Tuesday, that the boys' father, John Skelton, has been arrested for parental kidnapping.

Skelton was released from a mental hospital and taken into custody by FBI agents outside of Toledo shortly before 3 p.m., according to Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks.

He is facing three counts of parental kidnapping.

Because he was arrested in another state he will face an extradition hearing to be returned to Michigan, Weeks said.

(CNN) -- Authorities arrested the father of three missing Michigan boys Tuesday, charging him with parental kidnapping, officials said.

John Skelton was arrested immediately upon his release from a mental health facility where he was being treated after an attempted suicide, Morenci, Michigan, Police Chief Larry Weeks told reporters.

Weeks said investigators have not found the children, despite internet rumors that began circulating Tuesday of their whereabouts.

Local news not saying anything new except there will be a presser at 11am tomorrow.  LE not releasing any details of what POS is telling them.

There are rumors that the boys have been found but that is just a rumor at this time.

ive been looking for case studies on people that kill their kids, there has to be some indication
that its going to happen or at least something  really bad is going on, ya know
sometimes it seems like, mr x says, mr or mrs A seemed fine yesterday, i didnt really see any
indications or red flags,that something like this would /could happen
i just dont get it,seems someone close to these child killing parents would see,hear something that
would set off a red flag, if anyone has info on case studies,please pass it along TIA

I agree, you would think there would be a sign.  They interviewed neighbors of Skelton and they all say he was a good dad and they never had any problems with him.  Unlike the neighbors of the sicko that cut up and put the family in the tree...for him the signs were there.

But your mind has to be different for your kids right??  I would like to think so but there are way too many cases of the "average person" just snapping on their own family.

My personal opinion in this case is that Skelton lost his job, was losing his wife and kids, was going to have to pay child support, was already in jail for not paying child support -- I really do think he was in such a depressed state, snapped and the children were his victims.

This is all IMO and does not in any way excuse this POS for his actions.  I hate him!
