193 schools are closed! Our road hasn't been plowed since Friday. Snow day for me! The blizzard is over, but now it's the lake effect snow and the winds... of course, I will feel semi-guilty about missing work...but I'm sure I'm not the only one who is snowed in.

IM - after reading Teyve's advice I do agree with her. I still think it is the "poor me" thing but there is no way to tell how far he will push it. I would go get the PPO and then if (and I do me IF) he gets sober and gets his poop in a group, you can re evaluate. If  he ever gets serious about getting sober, let me know - I have a friend that will travel to him for the cost of travel and lodging - he is an incredible person and a great big book thumper!

Everyone up north will be gobsmacked but all the schools in the surrounding counties are closed and in the cities opening 2 hrs late. We have 1/2 inch of snow accumulated on the ground. High today 26 degrees but winds up to 30 MPH so wind-chill is -1.

Thank you so much for the time you took to post to me.   It is too bad we can not share a cup of coffee or bottle of wine and discuss our growing up years.
Your candor is so healthy and I think playing out revenge scenarios IN YOUR HEAD can be helpful in moving on.  Glad you have decided to not act on them.
I will share something that helps me when I am remembering hurts and slights and outright meanness.
I picture Our Father looking at the hurtful person.  I see that He loves all His children.  He sees their brokenness and damage and through Grace tries to gather them in to His Light.   It is reassuring to me that He loves each sinner because I am reminded that He looks at me that way, too, and loves me..................just as I am; not as I should be.
I am not trying to spoonfeed you any bs.  I have terrible days questioning why I am alone and remembering painful things from my past.  Terrible days.  When I finally get to a calmer place I find peace in what I related above. 
My biggest fight in my golden years aging is the urge to withdraw and lick my wounds.  To wallow in self pity.  I am not depressed in the clinical sense.  I struggle more with anxiety and panic. 
My heart hears your heart and I have you firmly in prayer.  You have so much to assimilate.......yet here you are in all your honesty and humanness encouraging me to continue my efforts.
What kindness!!  I firmly believe that each act of kindness in this universe cancels an act of unkindness and soon the peaceful karma will be swirling around us!!

Good morning all!!

Our gathering yesterday went great.  Everyone was safe in their travels and we had so much fun.  Except.  The BEARS just looked like idiots.    We switched to NFL Red Zone because it was just to painful and embarrassing to watch the whole Bears Game.  sigh

Only my neice in Milwaukee decided not to come as she was worried about getting home for her flight out of Milwaukee this morning for work.

We had a great time.  Lots of hugs and good food.

It is SO cold here.  Wind chill is -20 I think they said.  PJ has decided that all pooping will be postponed till April.

So glad for the good news on Nana's K.  I missed a day posting but did not  miss praying for all the intentions of my Monkey Friends.

More later.  I have come up with something ingenious to keep PJ's little paws from freezing or suffering from all the salt that is spread everywhere.  I will post a pic later.
