Leaving for my Mom's in 1/2 hour for our German Christmas eve.  Then home tonight to get things ready for Christmas dinner at my house tomorrow.  Hoping my Mom did some extra Christmas baking as I just did not get everything done this year.  Also hoping my mom made some head cheese as that is my Christmas comfort food.

You all have a wonderful time and enjoy all the good food.  My one grandma was born in Italy, and her husband, my grandpa was born in Belgium. At lunch time she would cook Italian and at supper she would cook German. Have a great time all of you.

TBM  I imagine your home will be rocking and rolling Christmas morning. Enjoy your time with the boys (and hubs). They grow up sooooo fast.

It will. They do grow up too fast. We are planning a surprise party for my soon to be 18 year old. His birthday is the 30th of dec so he always seems to get the short end of the stick. Looking back at pictures of him when he was young is sad. He seems to have grown up over night. Good thing I have the 4 year old and 12 year old to keep me happy!   

  suprise party sounds fun. I bet it is rough to have a birthday around Christmas.

He will enjoy, my older daughter just had her birthday, my youngest daughter's birthday is the 28th. Always reminded when they were younger they got the short end of the stick, they didn't but that is what they thought. Have a great Christmas and party.

Hey JSM come on over and join me. My sister sent goodies home with me. I have rum balls, bourbon balls, Shortbread and chocolate fudge with heath bar substituted for nuts. My sister knows absolutely nothing about liquor but remembered my dad drank Lemon Hart 151 so that's what she made the rum balls with Two of those and it would be illegal to drive.

All I ever got for supper was casserole 

My grandpa that always spoke his mind  would never have eaten Italian food twice a day, so to keep peace it was divided up    And my other grandma that lived right by us was Bohemian, and we would always get Bohemian baked goods and wonderful meals. Somehow I wasn't standing in line when cooking and baking were handed out

So I go to my mom's in the pouring rain, they have 2 fruit cakes baked, chocolate cake in the oven, huge apple pie, fudge... all sweets. I was like "where's the real food" I was hungry and started digging in her pantry to see if she had everything for to make greenbean casserole. She only had one can of greenbeans, but I stopped at CVS bought another can.  I wasn't going to the grocery store if I had too.

  I love rum balls and shortbread!!! If Joe's belly wasn't acting up, I would be there in a minute.
