Hi Cookie

How is that sick grand baby doing ?

hi Donks..it is the weirdest thing..she has been running a fever for a few weeks now...Monday when I  had her, it was gone..yesterday she went to her daycare..she was fine...today she had to leave daycare cause she was running a fever of 101 again..back to the doctor and they said that it is a virus but that there was nothing to do for her..just let it run it's course..   what is causing the virus to spike a fever??
my 10 month old grand daughter has had a rash all over her body for about 2 weeks now...been to the doctor many times in the last 2 weeks, says that it is a viral thing for her too but can't do anything to treat the rash...what the hell??? what is wrong ? she is only 10 months old and this is the second time that she has gotten this rash..no fever though...she is itchy and cranky..cutting teeth so DIL is wondering if this is causing the rash...sigh..
aren't you glad that you asked me about the grand baby Donks lol...
Could it be an eczema or dermatitis type rash?  an allergy - something new in her diet?  Cows milk introduced?

That rash reminds me of 'Roseola".  My middle son had that every time he was cutting teeth.  All I remember is giving him baking soda baths..................endlessly.
Cookie, it is such a worry when our grandchildren are sick, isn't it?

nope..thought of all those things..I even thought of scarlett fever cause the rash is similar to what I read about on the internet, but no fever...
she got a really bad diaper rash with it too..poor baby..she was given a prescription for the diaper rash but nothing for the skin as it could backfire and make it worse I guess...makes me itch to look at her..poor thing...

thanks for the tip....maybe that is it since she is cutting teeth...just put baking soda in her bath water then?
yes, it is a worry when they don't feel good..I had the 10 month baby today and she slept in my arms for 3 hours since she has not been sleeping at night...Mom not getting much rest lately either because baby is restless and crying at night...don't miss those days!

My oldest got coxsackie when he was really young.  That was scary to litterally watch the rash spread.  He never got the blisters, just the rash all over his body.

To my best recollection, been awhile since I had a little one, but I think scarlet fever comes from the strep bug - but that would cause fever and other complications.  I am sorry it is so frustrating and uncomfortable for the baby - and  Mom - and Grammy!!!!

Cookie, I have used both of the following w/ good success when my boys were young.

Treat itching with oatmeal - This remedy is good for all types of itching including chicken pox. It is especially good to stop the little ones from itching. Put 1 or 2 cups of oatmeal into a warm tub and lay in it. It's that simple.

Treat itching using baking soda - To a warm bath add 5 tablespoons of baking soda and half a cup of lemon juice. You could also make this a spray application by adding about 1 tablespoon of baking soda and some lemon juice to a cup of water and putting it into a spray bottle.

Caddy,

What is Mad Men?  I am not familiar with it?

Tol
Mad Men is a tv series that has been out for several years - but I just discovered it this past year so I have been ordering it on Netflix.  It is about advertising agencies on Madison Avenue from the 60's.  Hence, the title Mad Men.  The costumes and settings are perfect for that era.  Google it and there is a website that has way more than you would ever wish to know - but will show you the gist.  I really enjoy it as I grew up in that era and I see my mom and dad - and our retro kitchen!  It is before women were appreciated, and will take you back.  That does not offend me - as a child of the South - it depicts the times very well.

A series set in the 1960's.  They are at the Sterling Cooper Advertising agency .  All the clothes, furniture etc is like you get time warped back into the 60's.

Thank you, 4 donks!

I just love to watch the hearts rain in hers. LOL

Did you see the one I made for Babybear? LOL

Cupid bursting Cindy Anthony's bubble. (gum.)

That is probably my favorite one I did for Valentine's this year.

I am actually working on St. Patrick's avatars already!

Just woke up from a nap, am a bit groggy.

Wonder what time JSM gets home.
