JSM -- you may like this and most have probably made it before but I just discovered it and LOVE it.  Easy meal or snack to take to gatherings:

Spread Cream Cheese in bottom of glass baking dish.
Pour can of Hormel Chili on top of Cream Cheese.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake in oven at 350 degrees till bubbly (about 20 minutes).

YUM YUM YUM!  Just make sure to grease the baking dish first but oh my goodness....put on tortillas or eat with tortilla chips and its delicious!

NEVER ever have heard of that. Sounds so yummy Leroy. Put some salsa on it and I would eat the whole pan. That is why JSM doesn't cook.

heh

I take wintry weather seriously and enjoy every moment of it. Wink

Where we are in Central VA, we are traditionally on the snow/ice line, and usually get ice while right above us, snow is the event. Now that is normally.

Last winter we had so much snow, and not one ice storm. It was great! Ice storms cause so much damage.

Sunday night we had rain that turned to snow, and got about 2" here. No big deal, but it did freeze since we have had sub-freezing temps here since then.

I love being snowed or iced in personally, since I don't work outside the home anymore. And I don't have outdoor furbabies.

On another note, I like cold weather, but not the teens and sub-freezing temps that go on for days on end.

Hope everyone has just the amount of wintry weather they want. And that they can get out and enjoy it.

I agree -- I dont mind the cold or snow so much as long as you dont turn into an igloo as soon as you walk outside.  I especially hate it being in the teens when the kids have to stand outside for the bus to get to school.

Well it looks like sleet tomorrow. Warning from 9AM to 9 PM. My spoil sport sister ruined my hill sliding plan by inquiring how I was planning on getting back up the hill. It's about 800 ft from the house to the bottom of the hill.
quad runner ?  take turns ?
My sister can't make it to my place if there is ice...they close the roads coming down the mountain. Remember they have no salt or sand  on the roads. They just close them till the ice melts.
I hope you have enough food for the donks and pups and you 4 donks. OMG, I am really worried and sorry I made the joke about our weather. Sending prayers it thaws out soon.
Donks got a new round bale today and I have 100lbs of kibble and 2 cases of canned dog food.(Also three 36 can cases of cat food for the ferals ) I do not plan on eating any of these goodies. Monkey Devil! Soup and sandwiches or mac and cheese.
I am so glad, I was worrying. Glad you have food. I would be up a creek if we had that kind of weather. I would walk across the street and buy out the Race Trak.  Monkey Devil!
The closest place (gas station) to buy anything is 8 mi away. That's over back roads.
I thought a mile away was bad. Be safe and hugs to all the critters and I pray they are safe and warm. They are lucky to have you!!!
4 Donks, I did not picture your property correctly...........now I have a better idea.  Please take care.
Our overnight low is to be -6.  Then the wind chill...................
I am so glad you have been stocking up on the food for the animals and I think Mac and Cheese is Mana from Heaven.
Everyone take care and please be safe.
Tol
Stay warm Tol... I hate cold weather and hope you and PJ have a good evening.

Salsa is very good with it...and tons of sour cream.  I also put some Franks Red Hot but I like me some heat!

Did anyone see the story about the house that got covered with ice? Apparently a water main broke and they came home to a real igloo!  I really would hope that never happens to me. But I have a well, so not so likely! Already 10 degrees here. I told the kids if they do not have school they better dress warm because I am taking them anyway.  Monkey Devil!

Saw it on the news last night. LOL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City house has been trapped in a deep freeze this week.

A house near 95th Street and Wornall Road is encased in ice, including the patio furniture, after a water main near the driveway broke over the weekend and sprayed water all over the home. The break combined with the sub-freezing temperatures has made the house into an ice sculpture.

"Even like just trying to get up their mailbox I was sliding and there's snow on top of it, but there's chunks of ice under this," said postal carrier Gloria Fines. "It makes it hard."

The house has become something of a neighborhood spectacle with people slowing in their cars and even some stopping to take pictures.

There's video of it at the link above.

Evening everyone. I have had a very discouraging day. Kyle will not be coming home now until Thursday. His creatinine levels are high and they need to have them come down before they can release him or he could go into kidney failure.

http://www.medicinenet.com/creatinine_blood_test/article.htm

On the up side, his leg is feeling so much better, he has not had any pain meds since yesterday late morning! I am trying to remain positive, I will be able to get things arranged for him to be more comfortable when he gets here.

My brain is so fuzzy, I am trying not to cry because I read all of your posts and can't remember what they say.
I am saying a blanket prayer for all my monkey family, those in freezing weather...be sooooo careful! I hate to be cold.

I think i am going to try and get some sleep for work tomorrow. Take care, all of you...

I love Bostons!  Our family had two when I was growing up.  One was an older male "Sparky"  that we adopted when his master died, and the other was "Bridgette" a small and very sweet female.  Thank you for sharing your photo of BP, she's pretty!

Your pup is just adorable. A neighbour had a Boston and I swear he had springs instead of legs. He could bounce up to your waist and was a lover.

No way! Our male is also Sparky! He is probably twice her size and a weenie to boot! He is definitely Kyle's dog, horrid separation anxiety since he has been gone. He usually is his trucking buddy. We are pretty sure he was abused as a pup        , he has gotten better, but yeah, wow.  I'll have to see if I can find a picture of him. Our challenge is gonna be keeping him off of "Dad" when he comes in...problem child!

Nana did you ever find Pugli's owners ? Just a thought but it is proven that petting a dog or cat can lower the blood pressure and has a calming affect on the nerves.....maybe some cuddle time would help.

Nana, sorry to hear that your husband has had a bit of a setback. Hopefully he will be ready to come home Thursday.

Your pup is adorable.

Cookie, glad to hear you are settling into the new house. (Sorry about your earlybird neighbor!)

4 Donks, I feel for you having to care for the donks in this weather, but I always enjoy your humorous take on things!

JSM, just added you to Josef's avatar. LOL

No, he is still here! Laying on my feet. Getting grandson to bed(his last day in old school tomorrow) . I will miss those little farts! I will try the cuddle time, thinking the bed will be a bit crowded tonight.
